Spend your money elsewhere

When I thought I would write a review of this company, I had hoped that it would have some meaning. Obviously there are so many honest reviews before me that I am sure they simply do not care about reviews. Anyway, here is my opinion for what it is worth: This company will rip you off and have absolutely no morals whatsoever. Now whilst saying that I should qualify my comments. They do have one or 2 staff that do seem to care, but as their hands are tied by their management they can do nothing. We spent £43,200 on a brand new Buccaneer caravan. The sales staff were friendly until they have signature and then they simply dont care as they have moved on to the next victim.
The new caravan team were helpful and friendly, the handover all good. Thats the end of the positives. From the day we have started to use the caravan we have had numerous problems, and problems that they have failed to fix on numerous occasions. They have attempted and failed to fix our bathroom wall on 5 occasions, it is still a complete mess. They have replaced rusty taps, leaking pipes, mattresses, cupboard doors, draw fronts, blinds and numerous other items. They have caused more damage whilst doing repairs than actually repairing. The caravan is now 18 months old and still has original repairs outstanding after incompetent repairs that have failed. The last time we collected the caravan after it being with them for over three months they removed the battery, we had no idea until we got to site when we couldnt put the legs down (automatic legs) then of course the caravan would not level due to calibration issues. They always blame a service technician who is "no longer with the business". You have to chase constantly for information, they threaten you to pick up your van within three days because they have no space and then three months later you are chasing them for its return. Our caravan has been with them for over 6 months in total, we have only been away in it 3 times since new because of the issues. The management know the law and will do nothing unless you take legal action. I have emails from them stating they would fight any claim. I have emails that start without predjudice meaning I cant use their paltry offers in court. Fact is I have now engaged lawyers at great cost because I am simply not prepared to let them get away with it. My van was new, and contractually I have never had what I paid for. The problems that still exist were first reported within 2 weeks of us picking the van up. From the 2015 consumer rights act, that is when the clock stopped for a claim, therefore I am well within my rights for a full refund. That is the basis for a claim according to my lawyers and we will take them to court on this basis. I will keep posing update reviews on this journey, in the hope that they can be stopped from ripping off any other customer, unless of course I have to sign a gagging order to get a refund, in which case I will be prevented from posting further.

STAY CLEAR OF RAYMOND JAMES CARAVANS NOT INTERESTED

To be honest they don’t deserve even 1 star
My cousin purchased a caravan and a kampa domestic air awning all season and the left hand extension in march this year 2023
She then sold the Awning on to me as she wanted a lighter one she paid £2450 that’s what I paid her as it was all unopened /unused
The awning didn’t start getting used till May for 1 week
Then from the beginning of July till 12th august as wee spent all the time at caravan whilst kids were on school holidays in Scotland
The awning was then used again for 1 week in September
After each use it was taken down always on dry days and stored in a cupboard within my home
Anyway we noticed it had started to get discoloured and and mould on the roof inside and outside
We’ve never experienced this before with any awning we’ve had
There was plenty air circulating around awning as it has vents and awning door was left open all throughout the day as kids were in and out all day long
Raymond James caravans said it’s up to kampa and kampa are making any excuse not to deal with it as Raymond James Caravans are also
£2450 is a lot of money it was used only a short space of time and at this point was only 6 months old in total
I’ve constantly contacted kampa and Raymond James since 30th September 2023 and it’s now December and I’m still contacting them
I contacted consumer advice they said because Raymond James Sold it they are responsible to have it sorted or replaced
Under section 75
Raymond James are responsible for charge back
Its absolutely shocking
That they are just totally disregarding my complaint just like kampa
None of them even ask for me to send it back for them to have a look at it in person
But once I mentioned that to Raymond James Caravans in an email steve came back to me in a email and said send it back to Kampa but I’d have to pay for postage ect !!
I’ve been dealing with Steve who’s in charge of the awning department at Raymond James Caravans and he said he was forwarding it all on to a director
I phone last week Steve never took my call but has previously but he told hIs colleague to tell me the director has the email I sent but is off once again but the lady said she didn’t know when he’d be back in !!
Trying to flog me off 😡 don’t think so !
I asked who the director was
The name she gave me was STEPHEN BALL
who hasnt contacted me either
I WILL BE CALLING THEM BACK ON MONDAY MORNING
I’LL BE TAKING THIS FURTHER
BACK TO CONSUMERS ADVICE / TRADE AND STANDARDS AND THE LOCAL NEWS PAPERS IN THE SURROUNDING AREA
AND SOCIAL MEDIA

AFTER SALES ARE SHOCKING ONCE THEY HAVE PEOPLES MONIES !!!!!!

IVE BEEN VERY PATIENT
AND IM NOT BEING FOBBED OFF !!!!!

Warranty Claim Experience

I bought my new Coachman caravan from Raymond James Caravans. I hoped that customer services would live up to the same high standard of sales staff... I soon found out when I had issues with the Solar Panel. On contacting Customer Services my call was dealt with promptly and I was given a date and time to bring my caravan in for assessment of the solar panel issue. I arrived on time and was attended on time. I found the Technician to be competent and courteous, he reported that the solar panel was faulty and would require replacement.
A date and time was set and the solar panel was duly fitted by courteous technicians. My new solar panel has proved to be successful and I would describe my warranty claim experience with Raymond James Caravans as being courteous, competent and reliable and a service you can trust.

Did they deliberately send a cheaper item???

I regret not reading the many reviews on this company before ordering a set of Milenco platinum mirrors. They advertised them as being on sale at £99.99. When they arrived, I discovered they had sent the much cheaper version. Initially I thought this was a mistake and messaged them. This received no response. I then phoned and was offered a replacement but told I would have to wait until their supplier sent their new stock. This was in spite of their own website saying they had 11 available. I have absolutely no doubt this was not a mistake and I was being taken for a fool. I demanded they collect their goods and issue me a full refund. In fairness, they did. I will never trade with Raymond James again, I simply don't trust them.

Awning HELL

took over £13.000 off me for an awning, 1 rain storm the awning collapsed, breaking in half the steel poles, when I called them to say the awning is less than 3 weeks old they asked for photos, told me it was an act of god, only thing they could do for me was if I was to give them another £850.00 and my awning, they would give me a second hand Isabella porch awning.... I work on a camp site, i need the awning as I live in it for 6 to 8 months of the year and they new all this when i first purchased the awning... i now have a awning NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, im out of pocket and out of patients.... Will never go back to this company for anything.

Not interested in performing warranty work

Happy enough to book my caravan in for a service but, when they identify some warranty work on the service they refuse to book me in and tell me to go to my supplying dealer (8 hour hourtrip away). One to avoid!!

Raymond James customer service …

When buying a caravan they are the nicest people but run into a problem and they just don’t want to know have left 1 star as you can’t leave 0 as in my opinion is what this company deserves. They have gone badly down hill from when there base was in Coventry

Unprofessional bordering on dodgy!

Very strange experience! Travelled over 4 hours to exchange vans, only to find out nobody knew we were coming! (appointment had been booked for weeks). No welcome at all from anyone, Kenny looked annoyed we were there! As they inspected our van for damp (which there was a lot) according to Kenny, I looked at the van I was going to buy. It wasn't even the same one I'd ordered!! Dreadful customer service and an 8 hour round trip for nothing. Avoid!!

As soon as we started to look round the caravans we were followed,we went though the shop to look at the vans in the showroom and we were followed again, but never asked once if we needed help, but then when we went to purchase from the shop there was only one person on the till but he was trying to help a couple with buying an awning after standing waiting for 15 mins with staff just walking around doing nothing we gave in put the goods back and left thats a purchase of around £300 they lost.

Rogue Traders

I visited the Bailey stand at the NEC show in February and was interested in a new caravan - Raymond James salesman offered me a good price on a trade in for my current caravan and I placed an order

I was told they would have the new caravan available in March - after many phone calls I was given date 5 April to collect the caravan

I was asked to pay in full for caravan 3 days before collecting- I wish I hadn’t agreed to this!

Having paid in full I arrived to collect my new caravan and waited ages for the handover - this, after a 4 hour drive.
Then I was told that they reduced the offer on my caravan by £3500 - so I decided to walk away from the deal

Big problem was they had my money and refused to make immediate repayment ! Very unfair considering they had requested payment 3 days in advance

After an anxious week I did receive my refund

But as others have said - don’t trust this company especially the salesmen - don’t expect calls to be answered or to be called back

As soon as you walk into Raymond James…

As soon as you walk into Raymond James caravans we where greeted warmly. We meet with Tony Shaw our salesman and we had travelled from Lincoln to pick up our motorhome. The staff in the work shop plus the sales team and everybody else were perfect. Ben, Bob the yard man, and Jackie. The handover was first class and to be honest we have had a couple of issue but no trouble what so ever to sort out. Thank you very much for a smooth sale and handover. All about the aftersales and customer care. First Class.

After buying 4 caravans off this…

After buying 4 caravans off this company 3 being new, while the last one was still under warranty. On the service it was found to have a sealed for life wheel bearing was leaking grease on to brake shoes fully expecting it to be done under warranty. But the general manager did not want to know and did not return phone calls, in the end we had booked a holiday I did it myself for under £24 pounds and about I hour of my time, it’s such a shame because Steve and his guys in the workshop are very good let down by management. I have since bought a new caravan from elsewhere and would recommend the new company, not sure at the exact date

So disappointed with Raymond James

So disappointed with Raymond James. Bought a brand new Coachman caravan from them which was delivered in March 2021which was a good experience. Then the problems started! When the caravan was delivered it was missing parts which they didn't tell me about but eventually got resolved. Then had a number of problems including faulty outside light (clearly with water inside). Was told it would all be sorted at the first service. Caravan went in for 1st service, again confirmed issue would be covered by warranty but the parts would take sometime to get in stock. A few days later they said its out of warranty and would have to pay full costs to get it repaired. Couldn't find any record of me reporting in the first instance! Also the carbon monoxide unit never worked (surely should have been checked as part of delivery check?). Told it was better if I sorted it by myself.
In total disbelief after spending so much money to be let down with a real bitter taste. Still waiting on Coachman for their take on it all. Seeking legal advice from Trading Standards as I will not be letting this go.

Update: After several months Coachman have offered to replace the faulty part. Top tip: Don't give up on your rights!

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking. Where do I begin? The first word that springs to mind is CROOKS. These “people” specialise in agreeing a deal, waiting till you get there then moving goalposts. They want paying 3 days in advance, but when I asked for a refund today, was told 7 days!!!
They use bully boy tactics issued by their finance director to try and intimidate. Kenny the salesman is also an absolute LIAR and will say anything to get a signature.
Use if you wish, don’t just read about my miserable experience, there are plenty others on here.

Arranged to sell caravan to this…

Arranged to sell caravan to this company and explained there could be damp issues but it was under warranty. Drove almost 150 miles for them to inspect it. They offered £5000 less than they said on phone. The damp test showed less than expected. Pulled up on various problems which we priced up as costing £1800 max to fix. The van is 4 years old but It would seem they expected a brand new van to sell on immediately . Asked for a breakdown of their £5000 figure but they could only point out the seats showed some wear and the skylights were showing some dirty areas. A totally wasted journey. Every time we have had to deal with them after buying caravan they were difficulties. Would NEVER use them again.

Fantastic company to deal with. A big than you to the service/warranty department for sorting a few teething issues and getting the Osprey back to us so quickly. Can’t ask for no more. Many thanks, Mr and Mrs Wilkins
