I recently purchased a sofa set and a mattress, along with a protection plan, from Raymour & Flanigan. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale was deeply disappointing and has left me with serious concerns about the company’s after‑sales service.
When I opened the sofa box at home, I discovered that a part of the sofa was torn. I immediately contacted customer service and was informed that the damaged part could be replaced, but I would be charged for delivery, despite the damage being present at the time of opening the box. I clearly explained that the damage was not caused by me and existed upon unpacking.
I then requested a full sofa replacement instead of a part replacement. I was advised to visit a store to discuss this further. Acting on this guidance, I visited the Elizabeth, NJ location with my wife.
At the store, I met the customer service manager, Shaquana, and was shocked by her behavior. She spoke to me in a raised and rude tone, stating, “I didn’t ask you to come here and ask for free delivery with the staff.” This was extremely unprofessional, humiliating, and entirely inappropriate—especially when I was merely following instructions given by customer service.
Feeling upset by the interaction, I requested to return all items on the bill. At that point, she informed me that I could not return the items due to the return policy, referencing my signature on the invoice. While I acknowledge that I signed the document—and take responsibility for that—the policy was explained in a threatening and dismissive manner, which is unacceptable in any customer-facing role.
There is a clear and stark difference between the polite behavior during the sales process and the disrespectful experience after the sale. While the sales consultant was professional and courteous, this standard clearly did not extend to after‑sales service. Interacting with Ms. Shaquana did not reflect the conduct expected of a senior customer service representative at a reputed retail brand.
Raymour & Flanigan urgently needs to improve its after‑sales service standards, particularly within customer service management. Additionally, return and replacement policies must be explained explicitly and transparently before purchase, not enforced aggressively afterward.
Based on this entire experience, Raymour & Flanigan has permanently lost me as a customer. What should have been a straightforward resolution instead turned into a deeply unpleasant experience that reflects poorly on the brand.
Kirsy, the sales representative was AMAZING at helping show me some furniture pieces while being completely understanding & giving good customer service. Would recommend coming here again. 10/10.

I purchased a dresser less than a year ago and it has been falling apart within my first 3 months of purchase. Overtime the wood kept cracking due to the drawers constantly falling on top of one another. The tracks constantly kept coming off, and wood shavings kept dropping on my clothes due to the dresser falling apart. Mind you I am the only one using this dresser and always make sure it isn’t overstuffed. Yesterday the whole base on the inside collapses to where i can’t even attempt to fix it. I submit a claim and a woman that viewed the photos told me it’s not repairable and they won’t be giving me a replacement even though I have had the item for under a year due to it not being a manufacturer issue. “No further recourse needed” WOW how rude, how is not a manufacturer issue when the item was poor quality, she said part of her reasoning was due to the scratches. Of course if an item keeps hitting and running against an object it will naturally scratch on the inside which is the least of my concerns! On top of that I ended up getting my hand cut due to the item collapsing as I was trying to pull out clothes. The representative was super short and nasty with me it’s disheartening as I just spent $500 on this item. I also paid to get this item professionally put together. I am waiting to hear from management now

From the minute I walked into the store I was greeted pleasantly by Kirsy Dominici. She was so attentive and understood my exact needs for purchase. She did an outstanding job showing me around until I found the perfect fit. I received my purchase the next day. They also used a great delivery company with very courteous and prompt service. It was a no hassle experience. Based on my experience at the Elizabeth location I would definitely recommend and return in the future. We purchased a large sectional couch SKU# 297095498 which the full cost was about $6000. The pillows that came with it had sharp zippers that on several occasions caused open wounds to my child and my husband. We submitted pictures and they sent a technician despite the warranty time. The injuries occurred randomly within the year of having the couch. However, due to it happening repeatedly, we decided to write the company. The manager's resolution was to either replace with the same exact pillows (with defective zippers), or have a technician come and sew each pillow closed (a total of 13 pillows). My daughter has a scar on her arm. I have enclosed pictures for reference of the dangers of these zippers. We went to Raymour & Flanigan for the quality. Now we have to rethink the investment. What I remember most is the salesman talking about how amazing the quality of the pillows were. Although these injuries occurred within the first year, it was only because it happened repeatedly that I posed that this is a risk to consumers as other people may get lacerations on their face!
