my review is based on my customer experience so basically what happened is that I was shorted on the last gift card I got for Amazon they emailed me to send them a screenshot which I did then they emailed me again saying that they still need a screenshot so I sent another then they said that they still needed one so I sent 3 of them. this has been going back and for about a week and what makes me angry is that they take at least two days to respond it's been about three days since the last screenshot I sent. I wish they would just have an actual person try to help me and I say that because I'm fairly certain they're using an AI or just really one dimensional people cause they don't seem to have enough intelligence to read an invoice or at the very least have the decency to say they're not going to help so they can stop wasting my damn time. I had no problems with the app itself till recently but the service is terrible use at your own discretion

I had to open a support ticket just to create my account because you can't create an account on mobile despite the app showing you all the prompts to input the information, you just never receive the account activation email. The response from support staff was prompt, presumably because they're being paid for speed and not quality. It seemed like they had read the subject line of my email and nothing else. I got passive aggressive answers unrelated to my questions. I got barely a month's worth of use out of the app, not even enough time to earn a single reward, before I started getting an error message every time I tried to submit a receipt. This "service" isn't worth the time or the frustration it takes to use it, frankly it's not worth anything.

Small amounts of money but better than nothing. You take pictures of receipts for money.

The app does not allow the required “device verification” to go through. I typed my phone number and the “next” button turns green but when I click on it the screen freezes and does nothing. The “request a call” link is also dead. And now I can’t redeem my points.

They contacted me 2 days later and fixed the issue. Back to normal now.

They were great at the start of the Covid when I started using it for receipt scanning points. Receiving lots of little payouts like $5-$10 Amazon-other gift cards I could use online or for physical merchant purchases.... until they weren't.
Fast fwd 2024, they've turned to junk, with e-receipts never connecting including Amazon. Just sit on your phone spinning into oblivion, or crashing the app all together. Many screenshots taken before contacting their said Support - a lame-*** ticket you don't know even processes until you receive a 2nd BOT response in your email that they're "working on it...their apologies" blah blah. Then zero follow-up. Their Playstore ratings used to be a stellar 4.7. Now it's a lame 3.8 if that tells you anything... Totally no longer worth it. Can't even cash in my current points.

Every since the first of the month I only get 1 or 5 points on every receipt. Before that it was based on the total of the receipt for the first hundred, then 5 for the other receipts till you get to 20 receipts. It took away my progressive bar that resets every 8 days to show when you get your hundred points. I have reset the app 2 times abd nothing works. I have always loved receipt hog and never had any problems. If you are suppose to get the first hundred points based on the total amount of each receipt, you should be able to fix this problem. It states less than $10.00 - 5 coins. 10.00-49.99-10 coins,50.00-99.99 -15 coins, over 100.00 - 20 coins. Then 5 coins for all other receipts. Can you not fix this problem and make this good as it was.

It's not worth it. They have "thresholds" and limits. You can only get coins for a certain amount of receipts each week and half of the time they rip you off and don't give them to you at all. $5 a month AT THE MOST is NOT worth all the work you have to do to get it. On top of that, the app doesn't work half the time. Don't waste your time. It's genuinely not worth it.

Takes way too long to get anything been doing it almost a year and can’t even get a $25 reward and the free spins are worthless, never get anything over 5 and 10 coins 😡

I have been using for 10 years. Please do not download this app. The customer service is terrible and nonexistent. The app glitches and they will not credit your account. It takes several tries to get an emailed response. They do not payout your money.

I redeemed some coins to put money in pay pal they took my coins but I received nothing.

I tried to cash in my Visa card and had problems chasing in on it. I feel like this sight is a fraud because I can never get my rewards.

The camera has extremely poor resolution as compared to other apps like Receipt Pal. Get numerous responses they can’t be read but other apps are not a problem.
Also the surveys are rude- example one recently for alcohol beverages. Asked my age ie 72 and then dumped me out. 72 year olds don’t drink?
Also for the difficulty in photo taking the amount of coins needed for a measly $40 Amazon card is a joke. Other apps offer far more and less coins to achieve a dollar reimbursement.
And the hog slots are a joke as well - does anyone ever collect the big coin wins? I have been playing the slots for a long time and typically are 5 coins.
The app is not very rewarding!

i got 5$ from it so far. just in 2 days. I just wish there was more ways to get points like spins, watch ads, and more. maybe even playing games in app. not installing anything.

Compared to other similar apps, this one is the worst. At least half my receipts they don’t accept, saying blurry. Funny, other apps take them just fine. This app is not worth the trouble.

It's a fun app to use. Just snap a photo of your shopping receipts and earn points toward the purchase of some great gift cards. It's fun, it's free, and it's totally legit.

Receipt hog is very slow in giving you points and doesn’t give you points for lots of your receipts. It’s not really one of the better apps for receipts. Other apps, give you points for every receipt. They also don’t give you the points for the receipts for several days at a time.

Receipt Hog has stopped honoring their redemptions. I have emailed and texted Receipt Hog for almost 2 weeks now and they are brushing me off again.

Once in awhile they will have a survey for us to answer and for our response they will give us coins for our time. Twice I had answered the survey that gives me over 100 coins but I never got it. They got my information but never gave me coins. If the survey gives you 20 coins or less, they will give it to you. So I will never respond to surveys that say they will give me 100+ coins.

Receipt Hog's app can't keep up with changes like new phone numbers. 2nd time to request a $5 PayPal redemption and Receipt Hog doesn't change very well and then I didn't get my verification code to fulfill my request. Plus when I contact support I get a long way around with a troubleshoot idea from their support email that does not work. To get my $5 PayPal redemption it takes about 2 weeks after I jump through their circus hoops but if they would actually fix the problem it would take about 24 hours. They tend to blame it on everything else instead of upgrading their system.

It keeps on disconnecting my apps. Can't get points from my online receipts ,cause it always disconnects
