Reclaim247 is a claims management company specialising in mis-sold car finance claims. If you bought a car, van or motorbike on PCP or Hire Purchase between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024, you could be owed compensation. The financial regulator (FCA) has proposed a mass redress scheme worth an estimated £7.5 billion, covering around 12 million agreements that may have included hidden or unfair commissions. We’ve already helped thousands of UK drivers start their claims. Our service is simple, hassle-free, and always no win, no fee.

I have been meaning to claim for sometime but no longer have the relevant paperwork. I received the Reclaim leaflet through the post and thought there was no harm in giving it a try although very much doubted it would take 60 seconds and not involve a lot of hassle. However, I was completely wrong. It literally took 60 seconds on the website with minimal details to find that I had a claim and for them to pass my details onto a solicitor. Excellent !

Very simple and easy, no difficult forms to complete.
Easy to understand plain English emails that gave me confidence.

Straight forward process. Only require basic info. Plenty of communication to confirm that the claim has been received and that I'll be kept updated.

So easy to use - I no longer have the relevant paperwork but it only took a few seconds to complete the info on the website and for me to receive an email stating a claim was being processed.

They use an AI to call people and therefore I was unable to have an actual conversation about the potential claim and they have removed me from their records. Shocking service. If I had spoke to a real life person then something could’ve been worked out

The process was simple and started immediately. It is very early on in the process, but impressed so far.

It really is sad to see people leaving fake 5 star reviews for a chance to win a £200 Amazon voucher. Only goes to show the dire state of this country. I STRONGLY advise you to read this review:
I used the Reclaim247 website because it was advertised as a quick and simple check to see if I had affected PCP car finance. I was under the impression I was just checking my eligibility, but instead, my details were immediately used to generate a full legal contract/agreement pack with Slater and Gordon without my clear understanding or intent.
Finding out that a simple check has suddenly triggered legal paperwork and a 14-day cancellation window feels incredibly misleading and tricky. Consumers looking for information shouldn't be rushed or tricked into signing up for legal retainer agreements under the guise of a "free check."
Be very careful when using this site—make sure you read the fine print, because a basic eligibility check might turn into an actual legal claim behind your back. Fortunately, I caught it within the 14-day cooling-off period to cancel.
However, if you were to sign the agreement, there are a few important contractual provisions and potential "sticking points"—particularly regarding fees, risk, and hidden costs—that you should be aware of:
1. The 100% Success Fee "Trap" (Civil Claims): If your claim moves past a simple complaint and requires Slater and Gordon to file a court lawsuit (a Civil Claim), your contract switches to a "No Win, No Fee" Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA). The Catch? The agreement explicitly states that the firm sets a standard Success Fee of 100% of their Basic Charges. They bluntly admit that this 100% rate does not reflect the actual legal risk of your specific case, but is just their baseline commercial rate. They also warn that this fee will "normally be an amount larger than 30% of your compensation." While a 100% success fee sounds scary, they do promise to apply an "Overall Cap" that protects you from paying more than 15% to 30% of your actual winnings (depending on the award size). However, VAT on their basic charges and the success fee is charged separately and in addition to this cap.
2. High Hourly Rates Over SCCO Guidelines: If the claim escalates to court proceedings, their fee structure reverts to an hourly rate basis, which applies retroactively to all work done from day one. Their hourly rates are incredibly high, ranging from £186/hour for paralegals up to £512/hour for senior solicitors. The contract explicitly warns you that these rates exceed the Senior Courts Costs Office (SCCO) Guideline rates. They justify this by citing their experience , but note that by signing, you formally waive your right to object to these premium rates.
3. Exit Fees / Cancellation Charges After 14 Days: If you let the 14-day cooling-off window close and decide later that you want to drop the claim or change solicitors, you cannot just walk away for free. If no compensation offer has been made yet, they can slap you with a flat cancellation fee of £250 + VAT for work done. If the lender has made an offer but you haven't accepted it yet and choose to cancel, they will charge you up to 28% to 30% of that offer's value as a penalty fee.
4. Non-Recoverable Expenses and ATE Insurance: The firm advertises a "No Win, No Fee" format, but that only applies to their basic legal fees. You can still be left out of pocket for other costs:
Disbursements: If they hire a barrister or get a specialist report, those are billed as "disbursements". You are liable for these if court proceedings are issued.
ATE Insurance: If you go to court, they will buy an After the Event (ATE) insurance policy on your behalf to protect you from losing and paying the lender's legal costs. The contract states that the ATE premium is not recoverable from the defendant and will be deducted out of your pocket/compensation on top of the Overall Cap.
5. Out-of-Pocket Penalties Even if you lose the claim and are supposedly protected by "No Win, No Fee", the contract outlines scenarios where you are forced to pay out of your own pocket. This includes things like missing an expert medical/legal appointment, failing to attend a court hearing, or abandoning the claim against their advice.
Summary: The agreement is heavily structured to maximize Slater and Gordon's cut using premium hourly rates and a maximum 100% success fee. While the "Overall Cap" stops them from taking your entire payout , hidden add-ons like VAT , ATE insurance premiums , and steep exit penalties mean you are taking on a lot of complex financial fine print.
