I wanted a Barbour coat and found “Red Rea” on line but decided to visit the shop as I didn’t have a clue to style or sizing and I’m really glad I did. Entering the shop was like going back in time to an age when service and choice was the norm. It was a lovely relaxed experience and after a quick size check I was given a jacket to try that was just perfect in both fit and style. A great price and terrific service that was over and above made me really glad I chose to travel to the shop, meet the owner and not order online. Thank you. Pete.

An excellent experience. Outstanding helpful, friendly customer service from Johnny on the phone after placing online order. I ordered a men's Barbour jacket online which was £83 less (27%) cheaper than the price Barbour offered online. It arrived less than 24 hours later. Specification as asked. Couldn't ask for more. In contrast had the previous tried to reserve the same at Barbour in Covent Garden for full price. Three calls to the shop. No-one at Barbour answered the phone on a working day.

Sent out wrong jacket. I emailed them to say I'll be returning it for a refund as it was supposed to be for a Christmas present.
They rang me, eventually accepted the return and said they would pay me for return postage £7/£8.
I actually paid £14 for postage because I wanted to make sure it arrived. Was happy losing out on the little extra.

I paid £198 for the jacket. Plus £8 postage.
They only refunded £178!
They are claiming the free gift which was a skinny barbour scarf was missing. It was 100% there as we only like the larger barbour scarfs, plus we would never expect to be able to keep a free gift when returning an order.
I checked the tracking picture and can see my parcel at the top of the pile still completely intact so I know the scarf would have been in it.

Ended up going to Barbour in South Shields and bought the correct jacket I wanted, plus a few other bits! I'm a nightmare for impulse buys.

Ordered this item Sunday 18th and received it 20th Jan 2026, also received a email from Jane thanking me for the order and that it would be with me the next day. Great prompt service and very pleased with the item.

Got an amazing deal on a Barbour wax jacket. Delivery was next day and it arrived in perfect condition with a free matching hood. Would highly recommend!

The communication per email with Red was very customer oriented.
I wrote to Johnny from Red and he answered very quick and friendly. I can say Red is very trustful.

Great company, genuine Barbour clothing, very friendly staff (Johnny)and they use DPD as couriers which is fantastic. Do not underestimate the benefits of a retailer using an efficient courier like DPD as companies that use EVRI should be avoided at all costs!
The online ordering with Red Rae was easy, I ordered a Large Barbour Corbridge coat / jacket. I am 6’2’’ and sometimes find Large coats stick out at the back so sometimes have to order medium. The Barbour Corbridge is a slimmer cut so a Large size was perfect for me. The coat is really nice, well made and looks / feels very classy. The Rustic colour is a very dark brown which was just what I wanted - a tad more character than black. Nice to have 2 ‘Barbour’ badges on show too.
If you are looking for a Barbour coat and can get one from Red Rae, I would thoroughly recommend. Their prices are excellent, better than elsewhere and I had a Barbour scarf thrown in which was lovely. I ordered one afternoon and the coat arrived the next morning via DPD (who give a one hour window slot).
Overall Red Rae is a great company to buy from based on my experience. This is a reputable retailer selling genuine Barbour clothing.

I ordered a Barbour jacket on December 4th and I only received a confirmation e-mail. On December 9th, since I had zero updates on the order, I decided to call the store, and the employee who checked my order told me that I wasn’t entitled to free shipping because I was outside the UK, so I paid an extra £15 via PayPal (I also made the payment for the jacket via PayPal).

Since then, nothing. No communication, no tracking number, no dispatch. I sent an email again yesterday (December 15th) and still nothing. I hope to receive the item before summer, if I receive it at all…

Update: The store has now replied to my email and confirmed that my order has been dispatched, providing a Royal Mail tracking number. While communication was delayed, the issue now appears to have been resolved.

Whilst I can concur with a few other reviewers that the website could do with an upgrade, I have to say my experience of the supplier has been excellent.
I ordered a mens Barbour Corbridge jacket (L) on Wednesday evening (29/10/25) and received it exactly as ordered this morning (4/11/25) along with a free tub of Barbour wax.
100% genuine Barbour jacket and 100% genuine Barbour wax. More than pleased with my purchase and more than happy to give the supplier a positive review. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Red Rae to anyone and I'll definitely be looking them up in future.

Ordered this jacket and it arrived by DPD two days later with free p&p.
Couldn't be happier with it.
Cheapest online I could find which was a real bonus.
Tracking number supplied immediately on payment.
Email communication excellent.

thankyou for your review, I am sorry your not happy, you may of called at a whilst we were busy serving customers in the store, however I have looked into your return, and I can see you HAVE been refunded, it can take up to 10 days, and it can take up to 3 working days for your money to land back into your account, I am glad you were happy to keep the XXL Barbour Corbridge, and you are so happy with your purchase. I am not sure what went wrong, because we did reply to your email.

I ordered a barbour jacket which is £63. Then they replied me they have to cancel the order because they are sold out.

I think this is a problem that the stock of website is not updated promptly.

I finally bought another one from them.

I ordered a light wax defence jacket - it was dispatched and delivered next day by DPD. The jacket is perfect and the helpfulness of Red Rae was oustanding. I can certainly recommend this company- Johnny even texted me regarding delivery- great service. Thank you.

This is the second time in a year I've used redrae to order Barbour jackets.
They always have plenty of stock and all the popular sizes.
On both occasions I needed my items quickly and both times they were despatched Royal mail Special delivery at no extra cost to me.
I live in the remote NW Highlands and always amazed at the efficiency of this service.

Wanted to place an order for a Barbour Hampton Jacket shown on the website as in-stock. Had a couple of quick questions before ordering... NO response to phone calls, NO answerphone, NO reply to emails. No surprise I did not go ahead with an order! Disappointing.
