Subject: LGC6 55 in tv
Ref CS44102515433
I purchased this TV online at your Reading Store on 22 May.
Your agent suggested a delivery date for the following Wednesday. BJS offered a delivery date of Saturday. I complained and this was changed to Thursday; and delivery happened exactly on time. I also asked if Kodi might be installed on this TV, and was assured that it could.
I am 87 and was wary of unpacking and setting up the TV; heavy weight and a fragile item not for me to undertake. I was told that this would cost £90 which was fine by me.
Obviously, it makes sense for delivery and setup to be on the same day. I kept asking about the delivery and was eventually by your agent that he had emailed our local branch in Cambridge to arrange this. Why was I not informed and why did I have to keep chasing this up? I rang the Cambridge branch later the same afternoon who eventually found the email and offered me the choice of them contacting the installer or me doing so direct. I chose the latter option – which worked after a fashion with me chasing him (as seems par for the course Richer Sounds) and not receiving promised phone calls. Almost by chance as he had a problem with another customer’s order which he could not complete, I found that he was on his way to us. again without saying so. I think I should take up ESP.
The installation proceeded well enough. I have an Orbitsound sound bar which works fine enough. As I am hard of hearing he suggested a new soundbar directed to aid deaf people and a different stand to raise the TV to accommodate this. He spoke to someone at your Cambridge branch who would investigate and ring me. Well, I am still waiting. He tried unsuccessfully to download Kodi which is not supported by this TV despite being me assured that it would. He charged me £110 which is different from the £90 that I was told would be the cost. I subsequently changed the sound setting to PCA for the soundbar.
I shall investigate sideloading Kodi although it seems rather complicated.
I have a Firestick containing Kodi which works perfectly on a Sony TV. I checked with Google to find that the firestick should work with the LGC6. Of course, it didn’t. I plugged it into an HDMI and tyrned on the power. The TV recognised it and then produced a deafening crackling and shattering sound which was so loud that I had to turn off the TV. Needless to say, the Firestick worked perfectly back on the old TV.
Our previous 55 inch TV has been passed on and is working perfectly.
This has been a drawn-out and distressing experience. Have I been unlucky or is this the norm for Richer Sounds?
I look forward to hearing how you intend to rectify matters.

Hallo David
Thanks for the reply.
Generally speaking, I am still very unhappy about the levels of communications where it seems that nobody is talking either to each other within your organisation, and then to me unless I prompt them. This is so easy and yet so fundamental.
I was told by the installer that my sound bar needed to be replaced but he still connected it using an optical cable. The sound bar was connected to my previous TV using an aux cable which plugged into an audio out port. My new TV is so primitive that it does such a port.
The soundbar is fron Orbitsound, sadly no longer in business. I am deaf and discussed this with one of their agents and he suggested using Aux to improve speeach clarity, and we adjusted the settings accordingly. Currently, I cannot access the optical setting. I am trying a hard factory reset to see if this will help. I have disconnected the sound bar and woofer in the hope that this will restore the optical setting. If not, I shall to persevere using the internal speakers whilst I explore sound bar options. I still have not heard from the Cambridge branch about this. I note that I could have got the LGUS70TR at half-price had I bought it with the TV. There is also £620 off this with selected TVs. Might mine be considered one of those, please? Are there other options please? The installer said that the stand would have to be changed to allow for the soundbar and he looked forward to seeing us again, presumably for another unspecified fee.
Having disconnected my current soundbar, I tried again with the firestick and am pleased to say that I now have Kodi.
This has been a distressing experience and I have to say had I not promised my old TV to my daughter, I would have returned the new one.
Since the Reading manager took overmatters have now been resolved. I have a new soundbar still trying to daisychain link via my Oticon TV adapter using TV and soundbar.

I recently purchased a TV from Richer Sounds Reading and was extremely impressed with the whole experience.
The price was very competitive and represented excellent value for money, especially when compared with other retailers. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to answer my questions without any sales pressure. Their advice helped me choose the right TV for my needs and gave me confidence in my purchase.
The ordering process was straightforward, and communication throughout was excellent. I was kept informed of the delivery arrangements and everything happened exactly as promised.
The TV arrived just two days after ordering and was delivered in perfect condition. It was well packaged, with no damage whatsoever, and worked flawlessly straight out of the box.

Excellent service
Very impressed with visit to store and the attention given by Dan. He listened to my requirements and proposed several options within my criteria as well as pointing out special deals available. Pleased with my choice. Took TV away with me and decided to defer decision on sound bar deal, but subsequently decided to proceed. When I telephoned Dan he discovered an additional reduction on the TV which he retrospectively applied so making the sound bar an even better deal. And delivered next day. Most impressed and very satisfied.

i visited a RS shop recently to listen to bookshelf speakers and came away dreaming of a floor standing model made by Dali. It was important to see and listen to various speakers to get a better sense of what was out there, their qualities and to help define what I wanted in a speaker. I appreciate all the time Rory gave me.
