Very Poor Quality in my Opinion
Updated after reply. Went to view one at Worksop sory not Retford and so glad we did as we decided not to purchase one.
The quality in our opinion is very poor.
The canopy above the front doors is so cheap and not as you would expect, it's plastic and not as we have now on our house.(proper tiles with lead flashing is what I would expect on a £320 000 house. The master bedroom could not fit wardrobes in and as we seen in this lady's house she had her wardrobes installed in the fourth bedroom. The paint on the skirting came about 2cm up the wall, just no attention to detail. Possibly one of the worst builds we have every viewed. We decided not to buy, obviously. Plastic ridge tile and chimneys I think, they certainly did not look real.
The one we looked at was a new build and the lady showed us the wardrobes in the 4th bedroom explaining that the lady wanted to room in the master bedroom plus it was the one with scaffolding in the garden holding the houses fence up that had been loosened when you tried to get rid of the sloping hill at the bottom of the garden. We could only view it because the family could no longer move in due to the issues in the garden.
Appologies for the mistake but its definitely your house, as we live near your Navenby build and thats where the appointment was made. Whilst we were in the showroom a lady cancelled the purchase of one due to lack of storage space which my wife and I totally agreed with.

Helpful
I have been dealing with a sale of our property that we originally purchased from Rippon as a new build. Louise Dickenson has been brilliant and nothing but helpful in assisting with any queries I’ve had.
Above and beyond the norm
Following a relaxed yet professional first appointment with all questions fully answered the follow up phone calls were polite and to the point with no undue pressure, (a breath of fresh air when house buying). Even though we have decided not to continue to purchase a new build the standard of customer service and interpersonal skills received from Shelley Allen was quite simply outstanding. Thank you for all you help and time, you are a credit to your company and your customer service is second to none.
Thank you

I had to pinch myself reading the…
I had to pinch myself reading the fantastic reviews for this company. Surely myself and many others from 2 different sites must be completely crazy. We purchased our home about 3 years ago and even after 3 years we have outstanding issues. Firstly after many delays we moved in with a snagging list as long as your arm. Most expected in a new home, but the time it took them to put it right went well over. The worst thing was the boundry. They were wrong and it got very heated with properties around that Rippon had promiced to sort out long before we moved in. We had to have fences moved and at one point we had no fence at the back of the house for 2 weeks, when the fencing company went in to dispute with Rippon homes. Everyone blaming everyone else. We ended up taking legal action against them that we settled. We have an ongoing wardrobe issue, yes 3 years to sort out a wardrobe. We still have dented doors left from a very messy refit that still looks a mess. Taps had to be replaced, radiators went rusty, the staircase still looks like a 5 year old put it in. Our neighbours wall by their stairs still moves. Thay also ended up with boundry issues Rippon did not sort out and it has cost them thousands to put it right. We had carpets refitted, lino replaced throughout when it bubbled up. The sink replaced after it went rusty and after the replacement sink went rusty we bought our own sink. The letter box broke, it was replaced and the same thing happened again. Then a drainage problem that meant the garden had to be dug up a drainage pipe put it. The grass had to be replaced as it had rotted due to all this. The drive pooled water in the middle after being laid and had to be dug up and re done. All of this took weeks and months to get done, the girls at the office were absolutely useless. We resent photos again and again of our issues and called and emailed as they seemed unable to keep our details. They have also left a drain outside of our property blocked. Mansfield council have inspected it and are trying to get rippon to sort it and will not adopt the road until it is. When they came to see the drain that overflows in heavy rain and creeps up to our drives they inspected all the broken kerbs which they have spray painted. So yeh, the street looks great..not. Thats been going on for months. They can keep building new sites but leave older one to fall apart. So excuse me if I am amazed at such glowing reviews from a company that quite frankly couldn't give a toss once they have your money!!
Great company to work with
I have been working with Rippon a while now and found them to be a great company to work with. Even in a busy time for House Builders they have always given a prompt and professional response and I would not hesitate to recommend them and look forward to working with them for many years to come. Our First Home @ The Edge, Worksop
Myself & my partner are in the process of buying our first home @ The Edge in Worksop.
We are due to complete on Thursday and completed our home demo yesterday - we're very impressed with the build quality of the home but even more impressed with Louise Dickenson, the Sales Co-Ordinator at Rippon Homes, she has guided us through the entire process with her extensive knowledge on conveyancing, she has helped us to chase our 'not so efficient' solicitors when needed and always gone above and beyond to get answers when we needed them - nothing is ever too much work for Louise and she genuinely gets excited with you! Julia Johnson from the Sales Team has also been incredibly helpful - she has ensured that all information provided to us is accurate and that all timelines have been met. Herself & Louise made it possible for us to move in a day earlier due to the removals company not having any availability!
Julia Varney in the sales office has also been lovely - she assisted us with our choices and ensured that all processes have been followed.
I can't comment in terms of snags as we're not in the property yet, but based on our home demo yesterday, we can't see anything major or concerning.

I was contacted out of the blue today…
I was contacted out of the blue today and asked if I would write a review.
I am a little surprised by this as the last time I contacted Rippon Homes they stated they had no record of me or my house as it was too long ago and all records relating to the development I was on had been destroyed...
I purchased a Rippon Home back in 2012.
The sales/showroom staff were lovely. I think there names were Jackquelene and Norma. They were polite, friendly and happy to answer any questions we had.
The sales process was really easy. We went with a part exchange option and the whole thing went without a hitch. They were really flexible and accomodating in terms of moving in, allowing us to have the keys to both properties for an entire weekend.
The poor customer service came when I submitted a snagging list. Looking round the house there were some things that simply weren't right. For instance the letter box wasn't level. A really minor thing, but surely someone had noticed it was wonky, and when you are buying a brand new house that simply isn't acceptable to me.
The service we received from the person in charge of this area was terrible. He was abrupt and made us feel like we were asking for the earth.
We had a number of issues from the sink kitchen sink being fitted in the wrong place, causing the work-tops to split. Leaking pipes in the ceiling and faulty windows. Turns out the window fitter went bust half way through the development, this is why we never got any Fensa certificates.
We also had to have the drive replaced twice - the wrong tarmac had been used and it didn't stand up to everyday use.
Back in 2012 most of the work was contracted out to other people, it seems they went down the cheap and cheerful route rather than quality. Unfortunately for Rippon they ended up spending twice as much putting things right.
I wouldn't rule out another Rippon home, but I would be very thorough when going to look around and ensure that all the certificates were in place prior to purchasing.

Second excellent Rippon Home
Second excellent Rippon Home.
I now live in my second Rippon home and absolutely love it.
I have been living in a Rippon home for the past 12 years. Rippon have been fantastic to deal with over the years. Their customer service people have always been very helpful if i have had to ask any questions re the products within the house.
Just out of interest i have been out to view some new homes that are being built locally to me and frankly the sales people could not have been any more helpful and accommodating.
Cracking company to buy from.

Rippon homes our new build home
We reserved our new Rippon home in May 2020 and moved into it in sept 2020, we are extremely happy with the build quality and finish, the pre sales were great from start to finish and the after sales is great too, obviously like any new build we have a few snags but nothing I would consider to be major and Dave on site is all over our snags and getting through them pretty quick, cannot praise the staff on site enough, anything we ask gets actioned and sorted quickly.
All in all extremely happy and would highly recommend, we looked at several new builds and value for money and customer service and experience you will find Rippon homes hard to beat.

Rippon Homes
The sales team are extremely helpful - especially during the stressful time of selling and buying properties, and have maintained their positive attitude during the last 6 months we have lived in the property. Our bungalow is warm and cosy and so far no major problems. Minor little touches would have been appreciated such as there being a TV aerial already installed ready for use; an outside tap and security lighting. Overall, very satisfied.

This is our first time in a new build…
This is our first time in a new build and we have been delighted with the whole experience. We found the build quality excellent, having heard some horror stories from friends about other home builders we were expecting a lot of problems - but we had no major problems at all! The bath dropped a few mm and became unsealed but this was sorted very quickly.
The onsite sales team were excellent and need acknowledgement for all their patience over the months that we were dealing with them. It's not an easy thing moving house but they were always there to assure me that all was well. They were very honest and thorough with explanations.
IF ever we move I would always buy a home from Rippon.

Poor quality build and customer service - best avoided
I did not expect perfection when I bought my new home in 2017 from Rippon. However, the standard of work was not good and the house build was rushed leading to a long snagging list. To be fair, they did sort some of the issues out within the two years. There are wider issues though including “soil” is more like plasticine and kills a fair few plants, the walls mark at the slightest touch even with decent paint, they have gone mad with the silicone everywhere and it looks a real mess. I still have issues with a rusty radiator less than 2 years old where the paint flaked off and a vent on the window which won’t close. Both issues were raised with Rippon within the two year “guarantee” period and they acknowledged the email but several chasers and months later, they are still ignoring emails. They have had “personnel” issues which they used to explain why they hadn’t responded at first (their staff turnover is horrendous) but they manage to delete posts on social media which merely ask why they aren’t responding to e-mails.
I would not recommend this company.
Choose another builder!
We’ve been in our home for over 9 months now and all we have done is chase them to finish jobs. Jobs that as of this day are still unfinished. As first time buyers, they have made this already stressful procedure absolutely painful. Most of all the problems is the back garden. After now 9 months on they are refusing to complete our back garden to the agreement they told us originally, only giving us 2 options that we never asked for. We saved and worked for so long and they have made us both angry and depressed. Customer service starts with Jessica Place and I couldn’t advise people to stay away more. Choose another builder. It may be a little extra money, but by gosh do we wish we did so!
Avoid!!! Liars and cowboys
Avoid at all costs, liars and scammers!! Absolutely terrible, we’ve been in our new “home” now for 10 months, it was handed over unfinished with skirting boards and doors only undercoated. I have a list of over 30 faults and this doesn’t include snagging. They have had 15 days extra in visits to complete the work but we are no closer. They tell you they are sending a joiner out and send one of their operatives, who are basically just odd job men who don’t really know what they’re doing and have in fact made our home worse. Spilled gloss on my carpets TWICE, had 4 attempts at siliconing round the bath and shower and still haven’t got it right, the list of bodge jobs goes on. Other trades have just not bothered turning up and when I emailed Jessica Place (as I couldn’t get her on the phone) she said I should’ve chased this up!! She is just plane rude and arrogant.
I wish I’d never bought from them.
