Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 104 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers appreciate the wide product selection, especially for running shoes and athletic wear, often finding brands that are hard to locate elsewhere. Reviewers frequently highlight the quality of the shoes and inserts, noting that they provide comfort and help with foot issues. The VIP membership program is also valued by some for its benefits, and many long-term members report consistent positive interactions and timely, correct orders. However, some people were dissatisfied with the ordering process, citing issues with lost orders, incorrect shipments, and difficulties in obtaining refunds. The website is a frequent point of frustration for many, with reports of it being difficult to use, having non-functional search boxes, and problems with processing orders and applying rewards. Additionally, some customers experienced poor customer service, including unhelpful staff, long wait times, and difficulties with exchanges or returns, particularly concerning the membership program.

Hoka lover for life and RR VIP for over 22 years

I have been going to RR and have belonged to the VIP program for over 21 years and I would never shop anywhere else when it comes to buying running shoes . I know they have the best variety and give you 90 days to test drive your new shoes to see how you really LOVE your new shoes . If you are not happy with your shoes and you have worn them you can exchange them for another pair , who else does this ? If you have Not worn them and only worn them inside your house to see how they feel you have 60 days for full refund !! Again 60 days for a refund , that’s great as well in case you need to try a couple pairs to compare this is great !! They also through out the year send you emails with really good deals to buy clothes and shoes from them . They have great CS as well . I have my entire condo complex corner wearing Hokas now why because of me , yes I have turned my corner into wearing them and I am proud to say I have referred over 8 families to you all as well as my sister . Hokas are one of my favorite shoes for comfort and ladies if you really want a shoe that makes you feel like your walking on a cloud check Hokas out . If you don’t like them there are so many other shoes to choose but start with Hokas you may join our club haha .
Hope this review helps someone !!

Save Your Money!!!!!

RoadRunnerSports, is as followed: scammers & predators! (RRS)’s main objective is to sell membership, not shoes or any other product/merchandise. They want money upfront prior to any transaction. One might say “legal extortion.” If you don’t believe me, just read the negative comments sourced beyond the positive google reviews. From the looks of it, they do very well at hiding said skeletons in the closet. Even former employees on Glassdoor have stated they have super strict guidelines for selling memberships. (RRS) preys tremendously on the elderly, disabled, injured & overall shoppers who lack information. Customers want to improve their quality of life via footwear; however, due to shady sale tactics they fall victim to a rigged system. Buy our memberships or we won’t help you. Employees tend to carry a self righteous & pompous attitude. Whilst in reality they are providing a make belief experience. Nothing more than a script & pure theatrics. Sometimes they’ll purposely put you in the wrong shoes. Thus once again forcing you to deal with their dreadfully abysmal customer service. Sadly it doesn’t stop there. Regardless if you buy in store/ online you are guaranteed to run into trouble. Evidently it has been made clear that upper management will never address or change their ways in-house. Unironically, the social media team will publicly plead for an apology with a sizable facade of text. It is 100% phony and only for show. We know this to be true, because there are zero consequences (terminations/ write ups) on any level. In the end, their sleazy & long tenured store employees will continue to obey the command of their grossly negligent & slimy leaders. Do yourself a big favor and shop anywhere else.

I have been a member for 30 years!

I have been a member of Road Runner Sports for 30 years. That's a lot of shoes. All of my orders have been correct over all those years and on time (some come directly from the shoe making factory which is a different timeline). The prices are excellent and they have the BEST rewards program. I buy for myself, my husband and my kids. That helps to pay for the membership. I am an avid walker, hiker and beachbum. Everything I need I can find. Quality shoes only. I recently had a problem with the shipping address that was taken care of with a call to customer service who picked up promptly.

Why go any other place?

Great in-store service. Excellent return policy. I really like the VIP program. Online experience is very good. Quick shipping. It's the only place I buy athletic shoes anymore.

Switched from Zappos to Road Runner, and love!

I was a die hard Zappos fan for years... until they started to go downhill / got Amazoned up. I started looking for a new place to buy shoes, and I like Nordstrom for a lot of things... but not sneakers.

Enter Road Runner. They've got local stores where I can try things on (or if I need something in a hurry.) They've got a helpful staff if I want to consider something beyond my beloved Brooks Ghosts. They've got all the add-on models (weatherized, Max, GTX) in all the sizes and colors I need. And they ship fast and basically always free. Thanks for being my new sneakers Zappos, Road Runner!

Sent an empty package. Customer support unreachable.

Ever been sent an empty package for something you paid for? I had not...until now. Road Runner sent me an empty sunglasses case with no product inside. Then their customer service hung up on me after I waited 57 minutes to speak to an actual person halfway through politely explaining the issue. I don't yell or swear at customer supprt reps. She just interrupted me, said, "Oh that's not good" and hung up. There is a difference between a dropped signal lost call tone and a terminated call. This was not the former. When I sent photos of the empty case, I got no response. This is the definition of not caring.

The VIP membership is not worth it…

The VIP membership is not worth it using your VIP cash as a nightmare I can get better prices directly from the manufacturer than using their website so it doesn't make any sense to even shop on their site

Poor

Poor, left a call back, never called. Called again and was told wait time 5 minutes, was told that 5 times. I live in Yuma, my order is coming from San Diego, the shoes for my wife from Ohio, however they are arriving the same day the 26th. Sounds like the pony express for my shoes, been members for over 35 years, this will be last order.

The ordering, cancellation and refund process.

The ordering, cancellation and refund process is the worst I have ever experienced. As a VIP member for 33 years, this is the first time that I have been so disappointed to the point of anger with result to trying to get a refund of a cancellation. RRS states that their customer service standard is a "WOW." However, I would characterize it has a "Whoa, don't buy from this company!" I spent over 200 minutes on the phone trying to resolve one order over a period of three weeks.

Longtime Customer very happy with this store

Been ordering online and once in person since 2020 after an ankle break rehab. Always quick delivery, and a couple times when I ordered a new brand (OC) that sized differently than my other sneakers I had to do an exchange, no hassle. I found their outlet store (online) has excellent deals and I also did the VIP membership, so I get further discounts and points. I have ordered: Hoka's, Brooks, Asics's and OC. Always feel like I walk away with a good deal. Also have had questions on my VIP membership and have called in and gotten helpful staff support. I even turned my physical therapist onto this store.

Avoid this company like the plague

Avoid this company like the plague.

Placed an order that should’ve been fully covered by my rewards points. Then got an email confirmation of the order only to find out it did not apply any of my rewards points and charged my card for the entire transaction. Waited on hold for 40 mins only for someone to tell me that it was definitely a mistake but they could not refund the charges until I had received shipping confirmation and a tracking number, and that I would
need to call back then. In hindsight I should’ve just demanded they do a refund right then while I had them on the phone. Called back the following day with tracking info and waited another 30 mins only for the call to get disconnected and agent did not call back even though they had my contact info. Called back and waited another 40 mins only for the agent to tell me that the agent I had spoken to the day before was incorrect about the policy and that I actually needed to call back once I actually received the item. I informed her I was not going to go through this ridiculous process another time and that I would like to speak to a supervisor about refunding the charges now. Waited on hold for another 12 mins only for the same agent (not the supervisor) to come back on and tell me they would refund the charges. She also tried to tell me she could not send me email confirmation of the refunded charges. So I asked to speak to the supervisor again. Then magically she was able to send me email confirmation of the charges. Imagine that!

Overall, I would never consider ordering anything from this company again…not even if it was free. What a terrible experience.
