I agree with the other poor reviews…

I agree with the other poor reviews here. In the past they have used any credit card on my account to auto-renew memberships. I used my husband's credit card to buy a pair of shoes and they charged the annual membership fee. No consent, nothing. They kept the card on file for what reason?

In addition, every time I visit a Road Runner, even if I know the exact size and model shoe I want, it's a 45 minutes (at the very least) experience. If you are not trying shoes on and just wanting to buy a shoe there is no reason you should have to wait 45 minutes.

Finally, I just previously purchased a pair of sneakers online. I do most of my shopping online and Road Runner is the first merchant who charged me TWICE. Two charges came up pending. Obviously one was dropped, but I have never had this happen to me before.

If you have a locally owned running store near you, save yourself the headache and shop small. Road Runner is not recommended by me.

Outstanding Shoes and Service

Been a customer for many years. Just bought shoes for myself and my wife. Great price on great shoes. They came within two days. They look great, feel great, and keeping me on the road.
This pace has always give me outstanding service, and are right there if you have any problems.

Road Runner Sports Online Going Downhill

I have been a Road Runner VIP customer for 5 years. I have been increasing my mileage so I go through a lot of shoes. I am not sure but after several years of decent service (that is why I am giving 2 stars). I have had 3 bad orders in a row. Once it was a energy bar that they sent that was definitely stale (don't think the product had an expiration date so I would give them the benefit of the doubt but the product was stale). Then I ordered a pair of shoes and did not see any notice of shipping. After 9 days the order still said "processing", and then after a few more days they cancelled the order. I think several things should have happened to prevent this (first off you need to have better inventory control so you are not posting items you do not have--this should be very basic for someone selling a product with many options/sizes). They should have been more proactive in communicating a problem or delay and then they should have communicated the cancellation much better. The third problem is that the exact same thing happened when I ordered another pair of shoes! They never communicated at all with me; after a while I notice something is wrong, it says "in process" and then around 2 weeks they cancel the order. This is a problem as there are times when I actually need the shoes in a reasonable time (the first pair they cancelled I ended up getting from someone else but had to pay extra for fast shipping so I could get it on time). Their website is NOT maintained well and they do NO communicate issues well or at all.

Terrible customer service!

I have been a VIP member for 22 years and have spent over $10,000 at their stores (online and brick and mortar) during that time. I recently purchased a pair of running shoes and, although they seemed ok when I first put them on, after walking about 100 feet in them outside I realized they were too big. I returned them, but RRS judged them as used and refused to give me a refund. Instead they issued store credit. I called 4 times to explain how little I had worn them and asked to reconsider. I heard nothing back for 2 weeks, then called again today and got disconnected, then called again only to be told I should read their return policy on the website. This is not how a business should treat a loyal customer of over 20 years! I placed an order, used the rest of my rewards cash and my return credit, and immediately called to cancel my membership. After reading reviews here and on the BBB website, I will be monitoring my credit card account carefully to be sure they refund my remaining membership and not recharge me.

I love this company...but

I love this company. I have been a patron for many, many years. However, my latest purchase was a pair of brand new asics running sneakers. I was excited to receive them. However, the pair that I received was used. the bottoms were dirty. The tag was ripped out and included in the box. They were clearly part of the "wear and return" program that makes this company so successful. I am really disappointed. If I wanted to buy used running sneakers, I would have gone to Poshmark... and it would have been cheaper.

Wonderful, first experience!

My experience with roadrunner sports has been nothing short of incredible. I've been looking for a specific model of an athletic shoe in the right size and width, and was having difficulty finding it until I came across the Road Runner Sports website. Not only was finding the shoe easy, but they also had it in stock with the correct size and width. And they were on sale!

But the biggest surprise was yet to come: I received the shoes so quickly that I thought the UPS notification was incorrect! They arrived the day after I ordered them!

I got exactly what I ordered at a great price, with great service. I will be ordering from them again.

I just got a letter telling me my…

I just got a letter telling me my subscription (?) is set to renew. What the hell. I have no subscription. It appears these folks are liars, cheats, and that's the best of their qualifies. I have no intention to call them and will refuse to pay if they charge me. I have never subscribe to their services.

These people are out to cheat you

These people are out to cheat you. You will pay to get a discount and then you will have to pay to return an item and not get the extra discount you paid for when you try to buy another item. You will spend a whole bunch of precious extra time dealing with all of this and then you will also not even get refunded on the tax you paid when you return an item--which is illegal. Furthermore, the 90 day wear it and return it guarantee is given by the manufacturers who offer a full refund--Roadrunner only gives you an exchange, when, in fact, they are getting refunded by the manufacturer--same as you could do anywhere else--and then they are making you pay for the privilege. Cheaters.

Went to the NJ Paramus location

Went to the NJ Paramus location, waited for about 1 1/2 hr to then just be able to try a pair of sneakers, was left unattended because its was to closing time and all the staff was rushing to close and decided to leave without a sneaker everyone had been given the time and patience while I was just left unattended.

The supervisor believe a women ws the only one trying to meet all customers needs.

Excellent Experience when Purchasing Over the Phone

My son wears a size 14 and he likes the adidas ultra boost running shoe. The store did not have them, on hand, so we ordered by calling customer service. Very easy process and the rep was extremely kind, helpful and easy to talk to. I actually could have continued speaking with him, but I knew he had other customers to get to. He also gave me shoe care suggestions which is thought was a fantastic thing to do. Excellent customer service!! Thank you!
