Written by the company
The company that’s now Robertson Homes was founded in Elgin in 1966. Like most families, the business has grown steadily and gradually over the years. Bill Robertson was just 21 when he set up his joinery business, but within three years he’d built and sold his first house. In 1975 the business took on its first design-and-build contract, and the following year Robertson of Elgin became a limited company. Since then the Robertson family has acquired new members, buying up small specialist companies and launching new divisions in facilities management and civil engineering. We gradually expanded our territory throughout Scotland, and in 1999 we completed our first project in England. By our 50th year in 2016, we were providing work for over 3000 people.

Hamilton Heights
We've had a great experience at the Hamilton Heights site so far. We moved in May 2024, got a professional snagger and all snags have been sorted. The team (William & Russel) have been nothing but helpful, going above and beyond. Our home is an absolute dream!

It’s my first home and I cannot thank Dawn enough for all what she did to make my home buying experience as such easy and enjoyable. I told Dawn you’re not just selling houses, rather, you’re doing so from the deepest of your heart!
Response to comments posted on my review
I have previously reviewed the experience I have had building with Robertson Homes.
My review was questioned, it was stated that I was confusing this company with another. That is not true, I am building a condo located at
206 Timber Trace Lane
Bloomfield Hills MI 33432
Does that ring a bell?

Absolute disgrace of a company
Absolute disgrace of a company, couldn't screw in a lightbulb properly if they tried. They've butchered my whole apartment complex and I'm now forced to move as its that bad.

My experience building with Robertson
I have been building a site cond at the Robertson development in Bloomfield Hills; the project began over a year ago.
We have had an exceptionally disappointing experience with these builders and regret our decision to purchase our lot. The communication between the design department and the builder is poor to absent. The design department offers limited choices. The design departments communication with their own venders is poor. The slabs for the kitchen were fabricated in a brushed finish. I have never encountered a brushed finish, let alone ordered one. I was told that the would reorder the correct slabs but I would be given a late fee and would have to pay for the slabs they had mistakenly ordered. I was sent to their vendor to select appliances. I list of appliances was provided to Robertson, including a gas dryer. A gas line was not put in the laundry room. I noticed this oversight, pointer it out and was told, they will put it in, but, I must pay to have it done and an additional late fee. the appliance list was provided to them a year ago. These are just a sample of problems I have encountered. I made an expensive mistake, If you are planning to use them, speak with current residents, see how their experience was.

Day light Robbery at Robertson group / home taken…
Robbery Robertson group / home taken the Micky or £140 fees, For in house safety critical medical certificate
Worked with Robertson homes with multiple agencies Dundee hilltown Perth high school stAndrews dalwhinnie and more.
Robertson are the only company in Scotland asking for £140 charge.
Morgan sindall do it free, miller homes are free drug and alcohol tests on every site.
Getting 2 or 3 job offers a week for Telehandler / 360 excavator work from multiple agencies as they can’t fill the job so passing on to other agencies.
I phoned Dundee & Stirling offices to say I won’t work for you with £140 fee charges.
Robertson group just keep phoning other agencies hoping to find a mug that pays £140. While pulling the pants down to take advantage of workers, bad enough that £25 A week that cis self employed workers get charged to email out a a payslip from umbrella companies.
All that’s happening is the next new agency phones me with the same job.
I am registered with about 40 agencies.
You would be better training you labourer to drive plant and pay for training & expensive cpcs cards rather than pestering me for Telehandler & 360 excavator jobs through agencies. Go find yourselves a mug somewhere else working for peanuts so you can pay more to management
What’s next charging for ppe soap & toilet paper.
The sales executive
The sales executive Marie could not possibly be more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very professional and efficient. Always kept in touch and was on top of every detail. She has made what could be a very stressful occasion very easy
Fantastic Builder
We have recently moved into our new Robertson home at Hamilton Heights and we have been nothing short than impressed with the whole experience. Gillian in sales was in contact throughout the whole home buying journey and made moving in easy. Russell, William and Bret have been fantastic. All three are incredibly friendly and want you to be happy in your new home. Like all new homes, there are snags, but they don’t shy away from them and want to get things right. I’ve seen William helping out with someone’s garden on the estate and they have popped round numerous times to make sure that things are okay in our new home. Russell is a fantastic site manager and truly cares about all the home owners on the site. It is our first time buying from a new build and I don’t think we would get this excellent experience elsewhere and it is all down to Gillian, Russell, William and Bret. Based on our experience, I would throughly recommend buying from Robertson Homes.
Be very wary of Robertson homes
Be very wary of Robertson homes
After looking at new developments in Kirklevington and Wynyard, I will definitely be staying away from Robertson homes. It’s clear that Robertson homes have got some very upset customers in Wynyard, with a number of homes displaying some very worrying signs all around the development. Big red flag for me!
The landscaping also leaves a lot to be desired and shows Robertsons clearly aren’t interested in investing any money or effort in the aesthetics of the estate. In contrast, we found the Story Homes development in Kirklevington gave a lovely feel with some great communal areas for kids to play and walks to the village.
It seems pretty obvious that all the reviews from the 10th August were promoted from an open day, so I would be very wary of taking these as gospel. Do what I did and take a drive around Wynyard, then make your own mind up.
Talk to Phase 1 Buyers at Wynyard!
I would not trust 'reviews of a showhome' when there are posters in the windows of Phase 1 asking Robertson to fix their houses at Wynyard. There is something very fishy going on here that all of a sudden people are writing to review a show home! Talk to the people who own houses in Phase 1 as I have done, you may think twice on buying!
Only one star as cannot give a zero…
Only one star as cannot give a zero which is what they deserve
Had many problems which would take too long to list
I would never buy from them again and have nit met a single person who has anything good to say. To sum it up once they get your money then they are no longer interested in you
Just fir info I bought my house 7 years ago and were the third family to move in
I am guessing robertsons must have…
I am guessing robertsons must have asked people visiting there new show home to review in exchange for a voucher or incentive to get there trust pilot rating up ! 3 years nearly and the replaced front room window has dropped draughty and weeks down the line still awaiting someone to attend ! French doors peeling and unable to be repaired by plastic surgeon absolutely disgraceful for such an expensive home !

We visited the lionfield’s show home opening day at Lampton park and we were very impressed with the show home. The house was very well designed, excellent quality of workmanship and the finishing touches were amazing.
This house has to be among the best we have ever seen with its attention to detail throughout.
We were greeted by all the Robertson homes team who were very professional and knowledgeable with their product and the surrounding area. We visited the site with our boys to explore what was on offer and our children were made to feel welcome throughout.
Beautiful location and truly superb home.
