Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 197 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as the worst they had ever encountered and highlighting the difficulty of reaching a real person. Reviewers frequently reported being stuck in automated loops, receiving generic, unhelpful responses, and having their support tickets closed without resolution, even after providing extensive proof of ownership for their accounts or purchases. This often led to frustration, with some even being blocked from submitting further tickets after repeated attempts to resolve issues like lost account access or game-breaking bugs. Some people also felt that the company showed a lack of respect for paying customers, with issues like unplayable games, persistent bugs, and the inability to access legally purchased content due to account problems. Conversely, a small portion of people were satisfied with the support, noting quick resolutions to their account problems and appreciation for the help received.

I wanted to change my email address...

I wanted to change my email address. How hard can that be? It gives an error message that I can't get past. Impossible to resolve it seems as one of the many automated BOT replies to my support ticket just sends a link back to where I had already submitted a ticket the first time round, now marked as resolved. And their email account is either NOREPLY or mailbox full. Looking on Steam many others have had the same problem. Not good enough and I'll think twice before buying another Rockstar game.

there is no customer support

there is no customer support, i opened multiple tickets trying to get help. I open a ticket so i can get help with my accoun and noone talks to me, they have an automated response and just close the ticket - mark it as resolved - people that have closed my tickets for no reason are - Arthur T, Kristy M, Doralee C, Karolina G, Seana T - Rockstar should fire them all - they are a multiple billion dollar company, they can get better support - yes i might seem like a loser but after a long day of work tryna hop on a game resolve an issue and actually just enjoy some free time, or actually getting some help - thats all i want . Rockstar please fire all these people Arthur T, Kristy M, Doralee C, Karolina G, Seana T , and get people who actually wanna provide some assistance and are happy to help.

NATURE OF COMPLAINT

NATURE OF COMPLAINT:
I am filing this complaint because I am entirely locked out of a software product I legally purchased, and Rockstar Games' automated support system is preventing any resolution.

BACKGROUND & PROOF OF PURCHASE:
On June 24, 2021, I purchased "Red Dead Redemption 2" on Steam for my Steam account (Username: meninblue).

Steam Transaction ID: 2920003547118239100

Payment: Mastercard ending in 09

SteamID64 provided to support: Yes

THE ISSUE:
To play the game on Steam, it forces a connection to a Rockstar Social Club account. The Rockstar account currently linked to my Steam profile uses an old, inaccessible email address (or was set up incorrectly). Because I cannot access that specific email, I cannot play the game I bought.

SUPPORT FAILURES:
For the past 14 days, I have been trying to recover access. I opened Support Ticket #36690978 and submitted the official Steam purchase receipt, my SteamID64, and transaction details. These are the exact proofs of ownership Rockstar requires.

However, no human seems to be reviewing the evidence. My tickets are repeatedly closed with automated, copy-paste responses stating they "cannot verify ownership" simply because the contact email differs from the inaccessible one on the account.

To make matters worse, as of today, Rockstar's Account Recovery web form is throwing technical errors, completely cutting off my ability to contact them or submit further requests. I am trapped in an automated loop.

DESIRED RESOLUTION:
I am requesting that a human supervisor at Rockstar Games manually review my provided Steam proof of purchase, verify my ownership of the 'meninblue' Steam account, and update the email address associated with my Social Club account so I can finally access and play my game.

Dont bother ever reporting anyone for…

Rockstar has profited 10.2 billion dollars off gta5 to date. They expect to profit 60+ billion from gta6. Yet they do not ever listen to the actual players..... No matter what, they ignore everything you have to say.
Save your money for a company that actually cares about their players.

Congrats Rockstar

Congrats Rockstar, you’ve done it again – 60€ for a game I literally cannot playReview: Oh wow, another masterpiece from Rockstar Games!
I just dropped 60 EUR on Red Dead Redemption II on Steam like a responsible adult, only to be greeted by your legendary Error 1.500.7 every single time I try to create the mandatory account. “Leider kann die Anfrage derzeit nicht bearbeitet werden.”
How poetic. Truly a work of art. Almost as impressive as your 15-year-old backend infrastructure. I’ve tried everything short of sacrificing a goat to the Rockstar gods:PC, mobile data, different networks
With VPN, without VPN
New emails, new usernames, DNS changes, router resets, incognito, time sync…
I’m an IT network engineer and even I can’t get past your clown show.

Your support ticket system? Also broken.
Your support email? “Outgoing only, lol we don’t care.”
Your entire account system? A sad joke from 2008 that somehow still survives in 2026.Thanks for taking my 60 bucks and giving me literally nothing but frustration. Really top tier customer experience. I’d rather play cyberpunk launch version again than deal with your garbage launcher. Never buying another Rockstar game. You people are a disgrace. Thank you for your attention to this matter, you absolute legends.

Only a stupid idiot from Rockstars…

Only a stupid idiot from Rockstars could come up with a time trial on a hill that is absolutely unplayable. They live off our money and constantly make our game unplayable.
The whole Rockstars is a bunch of idiots as well as the people who support Rockstar!!!

They need to do better

They seriously need to do better with their customer support. While I did successfully recover my account and Rockstar eventually brought it back after consistent back and forth messaging it was way too much of a hassle. I'm pretty sure this company makes at least enough money to provide any real customer support and not some automated message.

Customer support need to be fired.

This has been (ongoing) the worst customer service, I have experienced my whole life.
I have problems cause my account is connected to a non-existent email, I never had.
And every time u write to support, they just send another stupid link to (request ticket)
The cumstomer service needs to fired and stocked up new workers, who know how to handle these things.
Unprofessional money grabbing team.

Customer service is useless all bots

Customer service is useless all bots, my account is compromised, and I can't get it back, due to the two step verification, submitted 16 support tickets, and each time they close it, can't use my current Rockstar titles now and upcoming titles.

Worst support ticket system

Worst support ticket system. They only allow a 2 support tickets for a lifetime. Not that they can see anything anyhow. They can not verify anything about their servers nor can they look into your account and verify any missions or anything you have accomplished. It almost like Rockstar just is about money and not fairness. There is no customer service numbers that I can call and complain either. Is there an attorney for a class action?
