Much better than Airbnb for short term furnished rentals in NYC

I lived in a Roomrs apartment during my first year living in nyc. It's a really great option for people who are new here and don't want to deal with navigating all the complexities of traditional apartment hunting and finding roommates. The fact that utilities, wifi, and bi-weekly cleaning is included in the rent makes it a super affordable while also being in a great location. I was 10 mins walk to downtown Williamsburg and right next to the L train - for this price specifically it was such a great find. The renters portal and customer service were also really easy to use and quick to respond.

Roomrs made my move to New York so much easier. Everything was done very quickly, from signing the lease online to moving in. Customer service was responsive and the apartment matched the description perfectly. A practical and reliable solution I highly recommend!

I’m an international student from France and I really appreciated how simple Roomrs made my move to New York. The leasing and customer service were straightforward, and everything was organized before I even landed. It helped me settle in quickly and focus on starting my new life here.

I moved to nyc for a fellowship. It was nice to have a place that was ready and furnished. I moved in sept 2022 and used roomrs for a little over a year. Zack was helpful in giving virtual tours. They had someone who helped fix broken things and a cleaning person included. I would recommend if you are moving to NYC temporarily and need a furnished place. Such as for an internship or just trying out the city. Thanks roomrs.

Worst experience ever ! Could not get into the building on the move in day . Had to get key code from someone who was going into the building . Immediately emailed them and only got door access a week later . Had to chase them for the deposit and have not even gotten a reply despite moving out 24 days ago which is 17 business days . They did not inform Roomate that I was coming in . He got a shocked when I was there .

Roomrs made moving to NYC way less stressful. The leasing process was super smooth—fast replies, clear info, and no hidden stuff. The apartment was clean, furnished, and ready to go when I arrived.
Customer service has also been great. Anytime I needed help, they got back to me quickly and took care of it.
Overall, really happy with the experience. Would definitely recommend if you’re moving to the city and want something easy and reliable.

Actually horrible. When I moved in, the room was dirty with literal FINGERNAILS on the floor. They also failed to show in any photos online that there was a water heater taking up half the closet space. Whenever things needed to be repaired or replaced during the year I lived in a Roomrs apartment, they would take forever to fix it. At one point my blinds were broken and it took them 3 weeks to send someone to fix it, and the rep we had is extremely unresponsive. I am now in the process of having to literally hound them down to get my deposit back because no one is responding to my emails.

I was moving on a pretty quick turnaround and so didnt have anything prepared. No bed, apartment, household items, etc. Roomrs made super easy to transition into living in NYC and not having to worry about finding all these essentials right away. The process of signing up and finding a place was super easy and stress free. Overall, would highly recommend to anyone.

Roomrs made my move to NYC so easy! With the apartment being furnished, cleaning being provided, and customer service being great, it was a breeze. Jay was always a huge help when I sent an email to customer service. 10/10!

I lived with roomrs for a short term (3 months) during winter. This was an awesome option in NYC. The amenities they provide like heating, AC, dishwasher, in-unit washer and dryer, including sheets and towels made life easy for someone moving into the city for the first time. The apartment is exactly as the pictures. The cleaning service was great. The building and apartment was safe. Check in and check out processes were smooth and easy. I only wish check-out dates were flexible instead of end of the month.

Rumors is the place to stay for short term lease I really enjoyed my stay. It's really good if you are looking to stay at a place for a short period of time.

Finding an affordable home in NYC in a safe area is hard, but rooms made it feel like a breeze. I did not have to worry about furnishing an apartment or contacting realtors, just brought my stuff and moved in

I was genuinely scared of what my housing experience would have been in New York.
I had heard some really terrible stories about finding a home in the city and so I approached Roomrs with a bit of a "too good to be true" attitude.
However, my experience with Roomrs has been nothing short of great. The whole application and leasing process has gone extremely swiftly and the room looked pretty much as it looked in the photos. Actually, I found a desk and chair in my room which were not in the photos, so that was a nice surprise.
The roommates as well are all very nice so I can't help but recommend Roomrs to others.

I lived at Roomrs for a period and had a great experience. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, and in a great location. The people I lived with were really nice, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. The team was also very responsive and helpful whenever needed. It’s a great option for young professionals or students looking for a hassle-free and flexible living arrangement in New York. I highly recommend it! 😊

Avoid Roomrs at all costs. There is a reason that they do not allow in-person viewings - the apartments are disgusting and unhygienic. The pictures are taken by a professional photographer with a wide lens when the apartment is brand new and clean. THE APARTMENTS DO NOT LOOK LIKE THE PHOTOS.
The lease forces you to accept the apartment “as is” without ever seeing it in person. Don’t do it. Just don’t.
Roomrs do not care about hygiene or maintenance. The apartment was unbelievably filthy. Also beware of the doors, some of them are translucent, and none of them lock (in any of the apartments), leaving you with zero privacy or security.
When things go wrong (and they will), there’s a phone line—but there is no one on the other side. It’s just an automated message telling you to email them. Spoiler: they don’t respond to emails either.
The whole process seems smooth until you sign the lease and pay two months’ rent. Once it’s time to move in, communication stops, and they couldn’t care less about you.
Speaking of your money - don't expect to get your deposit back anytime soon. Roomrs has zero respect for the financial commitments they make to tenants.
Let this be your warning fellow renters, steer clear.

I was in a roomrs aptm for a year. There were issues with the house all year round:
-black mold in the bathroom, my roomates literally felt stuffy cus of it. Reported to roomrs various times, ignored
-diswasher never worked
-building's washer and dryer never worked properly either, everyone had to go to the laundromat
-in the summer the AC didnt work from 2pm to 11pm every single day. We couldnt cook cus it would get so hot you felt dizzy
-in the spring and summer: ants in the kitchen, centepides all over the flat and roaches in all the rooms. It was actually funny cus now and again you would wake up in the middle of the night to someone screaming from a roach in their bed
All this problems were reported to roomrs by all of the roomates at least once. Roomrs completely ignored or gaslit us. The number they list as "emergency support" is just a recorded invoice that says that if u have an emergency call 911 lmao
I literally dont know anyone in nyc thats happy with roomrs. I heard tho that they offer $100 dollars if u leave a positive review here, so that explains all this asslickers :)
