An RHS-award-winning variety, 'Bramley's Seedling' (often referred to simply as 'Bramley') is renowned as being the best cooking apple out there.
Sharp, acidic flesh breaks down into a wonderfully smooth puree. This makes it perfect for apple pies, crumbles and cakes. It can also be used for juicing or ciders.
This variety has a long harvest period, from early September through to the end of October. They're excellent keepers - store right through to late winter (store in a cool, dark place to keep longer).
Not self-fertile (group 3). Needs another apple tree near to pollinate it. You can either purchase another, compatible tree or rely on there being one somewhere nearby (not unusual in urban areas).

I ordered a Bramley Seedling but used the wrong address, I contacted Roots to change details Clair was very helpful and the little tree arrived swiftly, well packaged in good condition. I was pleased but disappointed by the trees shape as it only has one thin branch. I thought it would have about three.

I have reported that delivered apple tree has multiple old bark damage. Exposure about 50% circuit at some points. Customer service stated that it is an old damage and won’t provide replacement. Not happy. I had few issues in the past which I have not reported but this is too much.

Time will tell on the quality of the product (bare-root apple trees), but the stems that arrived seemed in great condition and very well packaged so no damage in transit. Looking forward to Spring!
