Comprehensive cover. I have had the policy for several years. I have only one criticism. At renewal, the price goes up, I suppose for two reasons. Increasing age and general 'inflation'. I have a... See more

Beware of who underwrites the travel insurance.
It’s a company called Collinsons, which if you read their reviews on Trustpilot, you may think twice about going through Saga.
If you’re unfortunate enough to need to use their services while on holiday then be prepared to be berated by overseas call centre staff & not receive call backs or updates from the one & only UK member of staff on shift that day.
Having a medical emergency abroad is a very stressful experience, instead of what should have been a well orchestrated process, dealing with Collinsons made that experience even more difficult at a time when you are incredibly vulnerable & desperate.
This was the first time we’ve had to use our travel insurance bought through Saga & it was an experience we wouldn’t want anyone else to go through & certainly would not recommend them.

I have been with Saga insurance for just over 10 years with home insurance and 2 car insurance policy. The most recent phone call with them when I changed one of the cars left me dismayed, there was an obvious change in standard of customer service and clear evidence of a decline in this once wonderful company Saga. Then yesterday I received a renewal letter for my home insurance for over double last year’s amount! Last year £229, renewal £470!! I phoned Saga and for the first time in history with them I am been left hanging on longer than ever before! Then I explain my case shocked with renewal quote stating having done online comparisons I can get my house insurance policy like for like policy as I had with Saga for between £200 - £249 with companies including Admiral, AXA & unbelievably Ageas (who took over Saga in house insurance underwriting business)!. I explained for this reason I was going elsewhere once my policy ended in 2 weeks. They did not even try to dissuade me or try and find a better quote like they have done in the past! If the same happens when the 2 cars insurance are being renewed I will also go elsewhere. It’s sad as I used to find Saga so brilliant before the latest restructuring, now it is seriously gone downhill and a lot of loyal customers going elsewhere.

I decided to give Saga travel insurance a go after a strong recommendation on Chap gpt
I was looking for cancellation coverage up to £10000 per person and coverage of preexisting medical conditions + chat gpt highlighted Saga's good record of claim settlements
Because of the preexisting conditions i decided i wanted to speak to a real person for guidance. After a rather long wait holding I was connected to a very helpful young lady called Katie
Katie was personable, very helpful and showed good product knowledge
The quote she came up with was very competitive and fulfilled all my requirements. Excellent service Katie, Saga are lucky to have you as an employee

NO WATER AND ELDERLY.
I am writing to you to raise a serious complaint.
I am 80 years of age and live alone I ve not had fully operation water since the 19th of JULY
I raised this alert with on this date I was advise with the cover i have this would be addressed urgently.
Since this point I have had two engineers who could not address the issue due to incorrect parts.
I was given times that they would come and they either
dont turn up or have the wrong parts.
communication is extremely poor.
It is now ten days on , with a heath wave. Every day i have rang Saga you emergency cover and as yet to have resolution and operational water.
Let me explain what i have to do
The part in the shower has gone , it means the water keeps running. I broke my arm last year and have limited movement.
I have to get on my knees under the sink to turn on and off the water I have to capture water to drink and wash it causes me pain I CANT USE MY WASHING MACHINE
I am 80 a single woman living in a remote village one bus a week no car .I pay on time my annual subscription- you are not and have not kept your contractual commitment
This is causing me mental stress and physical pain
This is a formal complaint, a call for escalation and immediate action
and water that runs properly urgently
I would appreciate your immediate action and response urgently.
I would appreciate your immediate attention and response to this matter with compensation for not meeting your contract with me and an inferior service.
A plumber was suppose to call to fix shower this evening when i checked with Saga I was informed he would be coming to morrow morning July the 30th 0026
I only found this out by ringing Saga this afternoon ,other wise i would not have known.

Saga are all the things that a previous holiday company that I used was not: knowledgeable, friendly & approachable, easy to contact, quick to deal with any issues, reasonably priced, & inspire confidence.

Did a quote House insurance £1750 per annum.
3 other companies tried between, £390 and £530
What a waste of time.
Buyer Beware!
Thank you James for the contact but if you could match the other companies do you think I would go with a company that was charging 4.5 and 3.5 times as much initially as straight forward companies.
