I completed a 14-week fast-track sailing course with Allabroad Sailing Academy and I genuinely don't think I could have done it without their specific expertise. The sheer volume of material packed into that programme would have been completely overwhelming (if not simply impossible to process) without the right instruction and support.
What sets this school apart is their experience. They are able to structure, manage and balance the intense demands of the courses with the very sizeable practical and qualifying demands of the exams to follow and then pace this against all the things you cannot control over a 14 week period - from the changing weather to the complex (and changing!) diversities of students with lives outside of the program. Literally everything that could create a complication might, but both administration and instructors clearly understand that fast-track students are under pressure, and they teach accordingly: clear, practical, patient, and always focused on actually building your confidence on the water, not just getting through the syllabus.
I came in with modest experience and left feeling genuinely capable and prepared. If you're considering a fast-track and wondering whether you'll be able to keep up, Allabroad will make sure you can.

Not great, good instructors though.

Completed Competent Crew with Allabroad at the start of Summer and just went back to complete Day Skipper. I can't recommend these guys enough, the whole team is amazing and the location, the boats and the general vibes all made for a great experience each time. I was fortunate enough to have Robin and Hayley as my instructors and both are super experienced sailors and patient teachers who genuinely want to see you succeed. They also love what they do which makes it all the more enjoyable, even after the sailing day is over. I have a lot more confidence on the water now and look forward to doing a charter on my own soon. If you're thinking of learning to sail, I recommend to head on down to Gibraltar and see the team at ASA.

It was an awesome experience meeting like minded people! James was a huge help with everything and has given me really good advice to use going ahead in the future! All instructors were great!

After completing the STCW Silver Package at Allabroad last summer, I decided to complete the Day Skipper Express. My instructors were Janet and Fergus, who were just amazing! Everyone is so friendly, organised and helpful. I cannot recommend this school enough. Will definitely head back again in the future to complete further courses and training!

Professionalism and expertise!
As a mother, choosing a training centre of the highest calibre is a must, hence both my sons attained their Power Boat licences at Allabroad.

I did my stewardess course here in and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the experience. At times i was neeveohs for different tasks and James was there at all times to show there was nothing to worry about which reassured me I’d be fine. The information is important and clear and the use of video footage and people telling their stories made the course interesting rather than boring. I really enjoyed it and so happy i had this experience

I did my yachtmaster here, over the summer and through to December. Not only did I make incredible life long friends. I was taught by the best instructors. Many of who were yachtmaster examiners, which helped push me to be the best I could be. I left a confident and competent sailor with nothing but positive things to say. A special thankyou to James and Claire, for always being my direct point of contact and believing in me through points where I didn’t believe in myself. :)

I would recommend Allabroad to anyone! The training received is second to none, what they cover is everything you need to know and more! The instructors are great, very helpful, knowledgeable and fun. The locations we went to on the course were very Interesting, the overnights in different places really added to the experience! Looking forward to going back for my next course!

Stcw refresher good instructors good course improvements moving from pool to sea wasn't too keen initially getting In the sea in late November early December but wasn't so bad and a good experience in cold waters 17'

I did the prepweek for YM Offshore.
This school really doesn’t has any interest in the wellbeing of their students.
I felt less then a number, the lady at the reception really doesn’t like her job… arriving on the boat it had an empty watertank 😳 no possibility untill the next day to fill it up. The reception lady gave us 160 pounds for food and water, 5 persons 6 days … 🤔 Nothing on board, 1 toiletroll, 1 kitchenroll, a bit of soluble coffee, 2 pots, no pan, 3 forks … The boat is a plastic floating thing with the minimum of equipment… upon arrival on the boat, the motivated instructor started to repair things, otherwise we couldn’t leave… This school is only about moneymaking… in the wonderful Bay of Gibraltar 🇬🇮. I never go there again !
The 2 stars i give is only for the instructor who did a fairly good job.

I had 2 fantastic days and learned more then I hoped for. The entire team is super friendly and helpful. Special shout-out to Jason who was very professional and the experience was like learning a skill from a friend.
I will certainly be back for other courses.

After doing my research on many different STCW courses, in different countries. I’m extremely pleased to have chosen Allabroad, James and Jon were my instructors for my course, extremely thorough in their teaching and very helpful. Giving us hands on experience, throughout the course from firefighting, to sea survival and CPR, passing on their knowledge from their wealth of Experience. I enjoyed the course so much with Allabroad, I went on to continue with my PowerBoat Level 2 with Jason, who showed me everything i need to know and more, which was extremely fun and helped me to gain my License.

This review has to be solely based on the instruction and tuition received from Jen and Robin, because if I was to consider the administration/office staff that work for the company it would have to be rated much lower.

Both Jenny and Robin were brilliant during the whole of the day skipper course, going above and beyond in all areas.

If you value the full course information before you arrive and a warm, friendly welcome when you get there above all else then this is not the course for you. But, if you value quality instructors who can answer all your questions and adapt their teaching style to your way of learning, and make it both challenging and fun, then this is definitely the course for you.

Bring a pencil and a passport picture.

I am giving 5 stars for the instructors not for the administration.

I will start with the instructors.

Theory and navigation was mainly covered by Robin who is an encyclopaedia of all things sailing. He knows more than he doesn’t. He is very patient and an absolute gent.

Jenny is one of the nicest people I have met. She is confident and has the patience of a saint! She made learning to sail exciting and fun. When we weren’t sailing we would be learning above day skipper level. Always willing to do extra theory and fill knowledge gaps in the evening and throughout the day.

Now on to the admin - course notes were given as photocopies, excuse was Gib post, in my opinion they should have a readily available stock of these. Pencils provided were not fit for carrying out chart work (not 2b and full of broken lead). The packing list was extremely poor - no one was told prior to arrival that ID photos would be required for day skipper or that a log book would not be provided. At course completion one of the crew had to leave without their card / certificate as there was not enough - excuse was it must have fallen down the back of the cupboard, when we get the ones that were ordered we will send it out.

All this being said because most of my time will be spent on the boat learning from brilliant instructors I would come back for yachtmaster.

This review is based solely on the instruction given during the course. If I consider the welcome, lack of proper induction upon arrival and poor communication by the office staff it would be less than a 5 star review. However, once we were introduced to our instructors things improved greatly. Robin delivered the theory in the classroom, which was both enlightening and entertaining. Jen, our practical instructor was fantastic. She went out of her way to squeeze in as much learning as possible in the time we had. In some aspects of the sailing she went well beyond the Day Skipper syllabus, and this is what provided real value for money for me. The assets of this company are its instructors. Their vast experience and their ability to transmit knowledge and skills has made me much more confident about setting off on my own adventures. Thank you Robin and Jen!

I did the STCW course in Allabroad and I definitely not regret choosing it. It was a great training and learned so many new things with the instructors James and Jon. The instructors were both friendly and relaxed but very informative and safe. I definitely recommend this academy to anyone else.
