Awful experience. Avoid

I chose this company because the proposition is strong and I liked the idea of a more sustainable way of purchasing a refurbished chair .

However, my experience has been consistently disappointing.

The first chair arrived in a condition that did not reflect a refurbished product. The legs were scuffed with exposed metal, there was a visible tear in the fabric, and there was a lack of adequate protective packaging around key areas such as the legs and wheels. It felt less like a properly restored item and more like a used chair that had been sent out without sufficient quality control.

While an exchange was eventually arranged, communication throughout was inconsistent. I was advised that senior team members would follow up, but no response was ever received from them directly. I had to chase multiple times before a replacement was issued.

The replacement chair itself was acceptable, but the process around it remained difficult. The boxes used are extremely large, and in my case, navigating them through a narrow hallway with existing back issues was not straightforward. Despite this, deliveries were made without requiring a signature and were left on my doorstep, which created additional inconvenience and risk.

There also appears to be a lack of coordination between the company and their courier, FedEx. Delivery dates changed without warning, and the system did not allow for meaningful rescheduling.

More concerningly, a further shipment has triggered in error and one of the team simply said she no idea what miscommunication has happened here. Despite multiple requests to have this cancelled at source, I was advised to “reject the delivery” instead. This effectively shifts the burden of resolving the issue onto the me (their customer), which is not reasonable particularly when dealing with large, heavy items.

At the time of writing, the shipment is still active and I have not received any confirmation that it has been cancelled..

The concept is strong, but the execution falls short in ways that create unnecessary friction for the customer. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the company in its current form

Saxen run business under another name called Loopspace, it is the same people and warehouse.

They took my money on 3/1/25 and after 5 unanswered emails, 5 phone calls where no one called me back, I have finally (hopefully) got a refund. We shall see in a couple of days.

What made it worse was the dripping sarcasm on the phone when you speak to them. Like I don't have a right to complain.

I ordered from Loopspace but Saxen is the same company and should suffer the shame of a terrible review as they provided the worst service I've ever come across.

Office ergonomics desk chair

Price, fairly quick delivery, and arrived as described.
A plus as can use PayPal pay in 3 option which helped to spread the cost with no annoying interest to add.

For your office I do recommend.

DON'T USE

OK i ordered a oak bookcase from them 18 weeks ago, i waited 11 weeks for stock (the drawers weren't in stock). I waited 6 weeks for the drawers to come in and then just as they were dispatching it, i got a phone call to say the case had broken in storage, i was puzzled as oak should be pretty sturdy and switched to a different colour frame as i was getting really stuck for time. Then i had to wait some more for delivery (2 weeks).
So it arrives and i took a couple of days to open it as it was massive and found my described as oak bookcase was MFC cheapest chipboard i have ever seen and was already peeling. i complained on the fault and on the not described as MFC, no way was it worth £309 and they finally agreed to take it back. i was told it would be picked up between 2-3 weeks, I was nagging for about 3 weeks asking constantly for a date and after i said look its been 3 weeks tomorrow why is it still here i finally got a pick up date in 2 and a half weeks. Day before the pick up i get an Email saying that my delivery is coming between a 4 hour time period from 9 am. i Messaged back and said i was sending something back. Got an email back confirmation that it was a pick up.
The next morning bang on 9am another MFC bookcase is at the door and they know nothing about a pick up. We told them we refuse the devilry and they had to take it, they said they don't take taped up good and we said it was faulty and they agreed to take it. i emailed Saxen basically asking what on earth is going on they said they could have picked it up weeks ago and got a your refund is being processed with no apology! no knowledge of why i had to wait so long for a pick up and had two unwanted items. Its been a nightmare at every turn and i just wish i had gone with Cotswold co to start with (delivered within 2 weeks)

Great Choice, Excellent Service

I wanted a chair for my PC that I could try before buying and noticed Saxen had display premises not too far from me in Newmilns. Although they seem to cater mainly for business they couldn't be more helpful in helping me obtain the chair of my choice for personal use. Even though they had a huge array of chairs (not to mention desks and cabinets) I actually chose a Houston chair from their website and assured I was under no obligation to buy if it wasn't to my liking when coming back to try it out. The chair was ready assembled for me 3 days later and I can honestly say I'm delighted with it. It looks great, very comfortable and height adjustable. Great value for money and excellent and very friendly service from Alison thanks. Saxen will be my first port of call from now on for anything office related.

Cabinet delivery

We was not happy with the mess that was left behind by the fitters and also they maked our wall by leaning the box against our cream wall. We had an order from you before and the last fitters were very careful and cleaned up after themselves. I think this needs addressing as we was not happy this time but we would not except this next time as we should not be having to get marks off our walls and clear up after them.

First class

Excellent customer service from Saxen, and a very good product. This small mobile drawer set is perfect for under a desk, but would look equally smart anywhere in an office or study. It is well made, and only needed casters and handles fitting.

Superb Service

Delivery was within 2 days, added another item to a previous order and it was despatched at the same time. Quality of furniture is very good, excellent overall.

Have today purchased matching shelves as so pleased with it.

Alison is so helpful nothing is too much trouble. Delivery chap from Kinetics was great too.

Pre-production design checks helped adapt my requirements and thus the conclusion was an easily assembled mix of floor and wall office units. Roger's team assisted with an early delivery date too.

Great service

I ordered a hidden desk and tv cabinet for our lounge. The service we received was amazing from placing our order to delivery.
We had a slight problem with the desk, as it was missing a handle, I phoned and spoke to a lovely lady called Alison, she sorted it all out and got back to me straight away. A new handle was posted to me which was fine. We are so pleased with our new purchases.
So refreshing these days to have someone who does what they say they will do.
I would certainly recommend them.

excellent service

Ordering was very straightforward and delivery was well within the delivery period and also the 3 hour time slot given. The desk had 3 small marks on the front drawer. Saxen arranged a replacement desk which again was delivered to time. I am very pleased with the leather swivel chairs and desk.
