I was previously a GoDaddy VPS user, but over time their prices became unreasonable and their technical support was not very helpful—especially for users like me who aren’t extremely tech-savvy. I tried several other hosting providers, but none really stood out until I discovered ScalaHosting.

Best solution if you want support on your server

I came from Godaddy after 10 years since service was declining and was looking for price, speed, and support. My litmus test was if someone would fix a corrupted htaccess file for me because it's technically outside of 'server support' and requires a desire to help poor fools such as myself. I looked into the top 10 hosting providers based on price, speed, and support parameters, then narrowed it down to the top 3. I put test sites on Ultahost and Hostinger and both of them had problems. Ultahost support was very dismissive (and even insulting) and Hostinger, a company I used to love, had no options for CDNs (cloudflare if I remember correctly) which put a recaptcha on the site. If I wanted to get rid of that I would need a plan that took them off the price/service leadership table. And since I don't want any of googly's stuff on my site and you shouldn't either, I went with Scala.

I've been with them for a year now and I've only encountered one person who wouldn't help me with something I couldn't do (it was server-side), but then I asked for someone else and someone from a higher tier responded. I've ultimately never been disappointed and am actually.. thankful.. for them—which is not a sentiment I feel a lot in the business world.

Summary: Super super A++

Dear Scala: Every hosting provider that gets big enough starts 'optimizing' their service out as they try to maximize profit, but your service is why we love you. Never change

Fast and acurate chat support answer

Custom tech support, no template answers.

I’m hosting a WordPress magazine that’s kind of big (about 10GB with 263k inodes and 5–7k visits per month). I started having some resource usage issues, and the Scala support team gave me an honest suggestion about what I needed to upgrade in CPU and RAM to improve page speed. They also helped me fix an error caused by a cache plugin that was messing with the site.

What I really like is that sometimes, like in this case, they help me beyond what they’re actually required to do. Because of that, Scala stands above many other hosting companies. I’ve seen good tech support before, but Scala is definitely a few steps higher.

This is a very honest review and I'm not receiving any kind of discount or gift, neither I'm expecting one for recommending Scala services. In 2010 I was looking where to host my websites when I started my business and somewhere in a forum I've read about Scala and 15 years later I'm still with them.

Good and practical hosting

The problem previously reported with the Litespeed cache has been resolved, and I was offered generous compensation as an apology.

So Scalahosting remains a very good hosting provider, reliable, attentive to customers, and very convenient for managing needs, with the ability to increase or reduce cores, memory, or disk space as needed.

Once identified, our team promptly reinstalled LiteSpeed Enterprise, restored your full configuration, and resolved the issue within about 2.5 hours. As a small apology, we’ve extended your subscription by three months.

I had problems publishing my website…

I had problems publishing my website created on Canva, and Antonio was really helpful. He explained clearly what needed to be done, and helped me do it. He also discoved that while my site had been moved over from GoDaddy, my name never was, so he fixed that too. I do have to wait 24-48 hours, but at least I am moving in the right direction...finally

Probably the best customer service aviable

The overall experience was almost perfect, but in some respects it could be improved even further, especially in terms of the panel and configuration, as well as putting oneself in the customer's shoes and thinking for the customers themselves.
