A glorious rural setting with very good facilities and activities. We prefer a more back to basics camp for which we take one of the remote sites but equally for those looking for something more catered the sites closer to the main area serve very well.
We will definitely be back!!!
Great staff and volunteers, beautiful site, fabulous activities. A********
Great tower tented village
The site team from begining to end were friendly and supportive. They did everything within their control to make the experience as easy and fun as possible.
Only thing holding back slightly was that the fercilties we booked were not quite what we thought they would be based on website information.
Muddy but happy!
Helpful, considerate staff on hand to explain and assist. Site was well kept despite rain and wind! Looked after us really well. Staff moved us in to shelter when a gale threatened. Site was very muddy due to weather, started a bit late season bare and turned into a quagmire, but the weather was described reasonably as unprecedented. Staff helped out and checked on us regularly.
Email communication taking too long for a reply

Amazing staff…
Superb staff who were always polite and friendly.
They were great with the scouts, very professional and always safety conscious.
The site is fabulous and facilities good.
A fabulous place for Summer Camp
Having spent a week here with 20 Scouts in July, this site is fabulous. The location is a three mile walk from Oxford station, which makes it possible to use public transport if you don't have a minibus available. The site is a really good size, and there's lots of space for Scouts to explore. We went for the 16 activity package, which was exceptional value. The activities were all very well run (we loved the team building). There was also a great campfire. I would totally recommend this site, and we'll need back in a few years.
Point of note: Ensure all food storage is squirrel proof... they will gnaw through plastic crates!
Youth organisation
I’m part of a youth organisation who rotated nearly 300 young people through the centre over a 5 day period. The activities, staff and facilities were excellent. I camped on site for the full 5 days and the staff were incredibly helpful, particularly Fiona and Jo, nothing was too much trouble. Our young people were treated with respect and patience. They all said how much they enjoyed their time on site. A big thank you from MACF!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The instructors were excellent and very patient with the girls
The overall site and staff we amazing.
The overall site and staff we amazing. Site conditions were kept at a reasonable level taking into account the busyness of the centre. Staff we tentative to a level that I have not experienced before on any Scout site. Continually asking if we were ok, if there was anything we needed and always immediately actioning any concerns. Instructors were well versed in their skill set, friendly and worked/interacted well with the YP's.
The 140th Scout troop - Glasgow
The 140th Scout troop from Glasgow stayed for a week using the indoor accommodation at the Sunley Centre. The activities offered were varied and well suited for the scouts offering challenging activities on land and water. All the activities were well organised and led by enthusiastic instructors and even though the weather was pretty awful at times they still kept things moving along nicely. The camp staff are very helpful and the catering too was first rate. The scout centre itself whilst quite remote is well positioned on Kielder Water and provides all the facilities required for a fantastic scout experience.
Great staff
Great staff, brilliant food and superb activitities. We will definitely be back!
Activities were good but felt like the accommodation wasn't jusrt basic but dirty.
Activities were good but felt like there could have been time for more - lots of hanging around, some finished early. Food lovely and staff great. Accommodation is very grim - very tired and in desperate need of update. Just a clean would be good - thick line of dust behind staff beds. walls are filthy with handprints, corridor doors covered in dust.
We loved it
We loved it, thank you for having us. The only issue was our tap wasn’t working but there was one not too far away so it was not a big deal whatsoever

Toilets at campsite was clogged and showers dirty.
When we arrived at 7 pm saturday it was difficult to find someone to check us in and none of the camp equipment ordered was ready.
Great site for our scout group camp
Youlbury is a great site - we loved having lots of the pitches in the woodland as well as Bear's Den for our recent Group Camp for 150 people
All the staff were really friendly and helpful.
