Superb
Superb! What an absolutely amazing scout campsite! The best one I've visited. Great indoor facilities. The camping space is huge, but the outdoor toilets can do with an upgrade. The onside manager was very responsive to our needs. And the adventurous activities were all just awesome! Our scouts, Cubs and Beavers enjoyed themselves!

Good site
Good site, helpful and friendly staff before and during our stay.
Activity leaders were great with our cubs.
Lovely new loo block!

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The staff were super-friendly and helpful. The grounds were fantastic and the activities were well run by staff and really enjoyed by the children. The food was fantastic too! I would highly recommend a visit here for primary school aged children.
Great 1 night Residential for Y3
Very accomodating and organised, The activities were great and everyone knew what they were doing.
Great Service and place
I came here this year and last year. the food could be improved on. When i came this year the food was better and the service was better like how I have allergies we had a scout called Francisco who helped us. The staff was great and enthusiastic like the campfire Eric was great. The lodge I stayed in (Peter Harrison) was clean big and generally good. But one problem is I saw many spiders crawling in the lodge and the food on Monday nearly made me vomit but that's it.
If you are looking for a good nature…
If you are looking for a good nature and a touch of adventures this is definitely the best place to stay. We had a lovely time.
Awful lack of communication
Awful lack of communication . Had emailed so many times and called over 5 times and still no one can communicate
Beaver Camp June 2024
As ever, Youlbury is magical. We had a fantastic camp at Lawn Hut, the oldest Scout building and originally a croquet lawn, so nice and flat for camping and surrounded by trees. Excellent, clean and well-functioning facilities; warm, friendly and experienced staff and everyone really accommodating, making it the perfect choice as always for our Scouting fun.
Great experience for our Cubs!
Great experience on site with our Cubs. Activities and instructors were excellent. Catering package was hugely helpful in making our arrangements simple. Chef could not have been more accommodating in dealing with our dietary requirements.
One problematic area was communication after making our booking. We had some questions which weren't covered by the FAQs. Despite many unanswered phone calls, voice messages left and emails to the team over a period of about 5 weeks we were unable to get them all answered and had to bring extra kit 'just in case'. Someone finally returned my call and left a very breezy message for me about 4 hours after we'd arrived!!!! I think it would have taken 2-3 minutes on the phone to answer the question and avoid my frustration and worry.
One other very small gripe - we didn't plan to use the camp kitchen in our tented village apart from making hot drinks. The kitchen was missing a lot of the promised equipment which meant even this wasn't possible (there were only a couple of dirty mugs and not a teaspoon in sight!).
Great Camp had!
The instruction on activities was good and the lady on the desk had moved our site nearer to the toilet block when we arrived as my email hadn’t been answered.
I only have a couple of criticisms, emails are not answered in a timely manner, a couple not at all. Also I understand you have to spread the activities out and have groups of activities, but when you are told we have scouts and explorers camping, we were given originally a couple of activities that we felt were better for beavers and cubs. They were changed but I felt reluctantly.
But on a positive our scouts had a great time and the team were accommodating when it came to getting vehicles on site.
The leadership team were very helpful.
Yet another fantastic summer half term of fun & adventure
We had a fantastic time this summer half term, yet again. All the activities, especially the water activities, were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The new high ropes structures notably the Jacobs Ladder are excellent.
All the staff and instructors are very friendly, welcoming and engaging, as well as efficient.
It is worth doing a recce of your proposed camping area before booking to ensure it suits your needs as they are all very different and vary in degrees of ruggedness. The bunk house accommodation (used in winter 2023) is also great.
I've been bringing groups of Scouts here from Shropshire for many years (except during Covid) and will continue to be do so for more to come.
We stayed at Hawkhirst Activity Centre and loved every minute!
We stayed at Hawkhirst Activity Centre and the team there were incredible. The lodge we stayed in was clean and tidy. All the activities were led by knowledgeable instructors who took time to help those young people to face their fears and take part in lots of adventurous activities. We have stayed before this and we will definitely stay again.
We had a lovely time and the issues…
We had a lovely time and the issues that arose were out o anyone's control like the wet flooded ground
however we made the most and it was a lovely experience with the children
