Excellent service, friendly, polite delivery men, Phil and Chris, and fast sofa installation. I would highly recommend. Our sofa is incredibly comfortable too, and looks lovely.

SCS Chelmsford
My son and I visited SCS in Chelmsford this morning. We were greeted by a lovely young assistant called Shannon. We explained to Shannon that we were looking for two arm chairs, possibly Lazy Boys as we’d had them before and have been very happy with them. Shannon took us through the store explaining the technicalities of the chairs we saw. Finally we decided on 2 Lazy Boys, plus a two seater sofa ! The Manager introduced himself to us, and made us a very welcome coffee. A really nice man, lovely sense of humour. We thoroughly recommend this store to anyone looking for furniture. SCS Chelmsford - Shannon
I recently purchased 2 rugs in the Chelmsford SCS store. I was assisted by Shannon in the store. She was great, very knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond. She even helped me take the rugs to the car due to a neck injury. If you are looking for furniture for your home, then go seek out Shannon. It was a friendly atmosphere in the store and her colleague Jackie also chatted with us and was also very friendly.

Helpful and pleasant experience
We made an inpromptu visit to measure for a future purchase. We were welcomed into the store and all staff were friendly. Whilst measuring, Teri asked if she could help and her friendly manner and advice motivated us to purchase. We were grateful for the manager's discount. A slightly earlier purchase than planned, but a very pleasant buying experience!

Poor delivery and service
We organised delivery for a Saturday morning around 10am and explained the sofa was going to our elderly mum (90 years) to the salesman whilst mum was present and one of us would need to be there when it’s delivered. He spoke to the delivery driver twice to confirm that would be ok and distance from the store is literally 5minutes in a car or van. The delivery didn’t arrive and no call so I called the head office number to be told around 2pm now as they had made other deliveries. This never arrived so another call and a call back from the actual store to say another 30-45 minutes due to traffic. An hour later still no call or delivery so my sister went over to the store. The sofa was still in the show room and after speaking the sales person the driver was having a break out the back and couldn’t give a time for delivery and said he didn’t know about the arranged time. So my sister said don’t bother now as we had been waiting all day for the delivery. It feels like they say yes to get the sale and then customer service goes out of the window, plus the driver has to be paid £99 cash for delivery which is way to high for the distance and why cash!? You can’t speak to the branch directly and have to call a head office number which just makes the whole experience hard work.

We would normally advise that deliveries can be from 7am to 7pm with a call from the driver around 1 hour prior so I do apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused yourself or your Mum on the day.

The £99 is our standard delivery charge which is applied for all customer orders.
