A beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. I stayed there with my husband for four nights in March 2026. We stayed in the River View Balcony Suite with great views of the river Thames. The ro... See more

Restaurant review
Had the theatre menu at their restaurant this week. Was served by Jay who was delightful! He was very helpful adjusting the menu to the dietary restrictions of my friend and made sure we were well taken care of. The steak and puy lentils were delicious!

Stay at nice hotel ruined by horrible customer service
I booked a long weekend getaway with my partner, which I was really looking forward to. The hotel itself is in a great location, with decent rooms and good breakfast. Unfortunately, a multitude of very bad experiences with the reservation system before, during and at the end of the stay ruined the experienced.
A few days before arrival, I received an email with an upgrade offer. When I clicked on it in order to get more information, the website told me that my upgrade request had been accepted, before even telling me the price. I immediately sent an email to the reservation desk, explaining that I did not want an update. Nevertheless, I received an email the next day confirming my upgrade at more than 300 pounds above the original price. I had to write to the reservation desk again, demanding that this upgrade is annulled, before my original reservation was restored.
At check-in, I had to pay the full stay plus 300 pounds extra for eventualities. Whereas other hotels simply block the amount on my credit card, this one required me to pay, promising a refund at the end of the stay.
Even though the room rate included breakfast, I was asked the first morning to pay for the breakfast. Even after showing my reservation including breakfast, it required some discussion before I could go. The next morning, I was asked again to pay for breakfast. I expressed my surprise that this mistake would happen again and showed againg my reservation including breakfast. The staff member said, she does not care about my reservaton because "the system" states that breakfast was not included. I should pay for the breakfast first (50 pounds for two), and I could get the money back from the front desk. At this point, I had to ask for the manager to solve the issue. He apologized and explained that there were problems with "the system", but by this time I had lost any faith in this hotel.
When checking out, the clerk asked me to pay for the room (again), claiming that I had only paid for eventualities at check-in. I explained that I had paid for the full stay plus eventualities, but she said that "the system" said otherwise. Luckily, I still had the credit card receipt from the checkin, which showed clearly that I had already paid for the full stay. I left the hotel in disbelief.
If they had it their way, I would have paid for the whole stay twice (during checkin and checkout) and for the breakfasts three times (once again during the breakfast), plus a much more expensive roon etc. Such a treatment is absolutely unacceptable at a 4.5 star hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff
Friendly and helpful staff. Modern room perhaps not entirely to my taste, but it was very interesting. Would stay there again.

Birthday Weekend Stay
Stayed at the Sea Containers London Hotel for my good friends birthday Sunday 14th April 2019 Booking no.6332SB014796, Room 1425. The hotel itself is amazing, the interior is eye catching with trails of spot lights on the ground starting from outside the hotel through to inside it and the array of candles set around the the hotel too.
The staff are lovely, very polite, soft spoken and friendly. However my/our prises sadly does not as far as we'd like them to so to speak.
Due to it being my friends birthday a lovely member of staff (management I believe) by the name of Juliano (apologies if name is spelt incorrectly) moved us to a room on a higher floor and offer her and myself a complementary drink as a gestured treat, which I feel was quite thoughtful and outstanding. However unfortunately we were unable to indulge in them as the bar was closed when we went to go calm them and we did not get to have them the next following late morning as we had prior plans.
The roof top restaurant was closed for whatever reason we didn't know. This was quite a shame as we hear nothing but good things of the view overlooking the sea and scenery of London so we was very disappointing to learn, for it's one of the features of the hotel.
On our floor the WiFi kept dropping in and out which made it impossible to enjoy using our devices, that's including planning our return route for leaving the hotel. I'm unsure of how the rest of the WiFi service feared on the other floors but the service functioned just fine on the ground floor.
The room and view we had was pleasing, the decor was simple yet elegant and enhanced all areas of the room giving off an enriched feeling, it was spacious and not over crowded in the slightest.
The complementary spa facility that came with the booking of our stay was closed due to it not being in working order, although the treatment rooms were open as normal. We did get a changed to have a little look around and from what we could see it looked quite gratifying, the decor stood out with a clean crisp finish, comfy cushion sofa that let off a welcoming feel to it.
The spa facility was one of the other things we was extremely disappointed about as we play our stay based upon the spa and the roof top restaurant dinning sea view experience. Upon arrival my friend nor I were not informed that the spa facility was not in use. We only learnt of this when wanted to venture to the spa, had we known we might have tried to reschedule it for another day.
Breakfast was delightful for me, it offered a range from continental to full English styled breakfast, a sort of English inspired french breakfast if you like. If would have been nice to have soft fried egg however I believe this was on request.
My friend on the other hand was not so delighted for she does not eat pork. I am in agreement that the hotel could have had a different form of sausage out other than the vegetarian ones they had upon request. Speaking of the requested vegetarian sausages, they were not to her liking nor mine, they tasted of more soy than vegetables and they did not go down well as they were left uneaten. We feel that the hotel could stand to look into a different type of vegetarian sausages, I don't know what others take is on this but that's how we feel about them. I personally think that mackerel along side the rest of the food for breakfast I feel would go down quite well.
To sum things up our experience was spectacular or as amazing as we were expecting for the following reasons;
No/extremely poor WiFi
Bar was closed so not complementary drink
No roof top restaurant sea view experience
No spa and failure to inform us of this
Poor vegetarian sausages as a substitution to pork sausages.
Not a great experience for bringing in your birthday and I'm sadden to say that my friend has been put of from returning back to this hotel due to the experience, she said it felt like too much hassle.
I personally feel she would have loved it if the above were rectified,
for I feel if they were I would like to think I'd return but of course I don't blame her not wanting to spend on it again only to be disappoint another time around.
