The booking system is easy to use and easy to navigate. Unfortunately on the particular booking I was looking at it only offered 1 room and not 2 despite saying 10 rooms were available. In fairness t... See more

Tried to book a hotel in Killarney using vouchers I had been given from colleagues on my retirement. We had checked availability on secret escapes website before booking our flights from the uk. We then went ahead with trying to book the hotel online but couldn’t find how to use our credit so we called customer services and after getting passed the AI and being cut off on the first call tried again, the lady who we spoke to told me that I couldn’t use my credit for that hotel as it’s through a third party! But it’s on your website!!! was my reply. Yes she said but you can’t book it, I then asked what could I book and her response was nothing in Ireland! After a few cross words and explaining we wouldn’t have booked the flights if we couldn’t use our vouchers she said she’d have another look. She then said oh there is one but it’s very expensive and wasn’t prepared to say how much or where it was. I am furious that my colleagues have given me such a generous gift that is basically worthless. My complaint apparently has been escalated and I will get a call from her manager in 24 hours so I will see how that goes, I shall be requesting a cash refund ! Rory

We were very happy to have found a 5 star all inclusive holiday in Crete for less than £1000 for my wife and I.
In reality the Filion Suites Hotel and Spa was at best a 3 star hotel in every area other than the room we had. Buffet food and Spa were the biggest let downs and this has made me question the star rating used and completely put me off using secret escapes again.

I have tried to ring this company to organise a booking. You are put through to an "AI" customer representative. I refuse to speak to a "non-human" . Having stated this, I was put through to their "human department"where I was left hanging while a party seemed to breaking out in the background. I eventually hung up.

Easy to book and an area of Britain we don’t know well.
The hotel seems great very welcoming and cream tea very welcome after a long drive
Secret Escapes is the website to go to for luxury breaks at hotels you might not find otherwise.

The booking process was easy and quick.
We thought the room was nice and clean, modern and light.
We were in what was called the "Superior Double" but we don't think it was! So the extra for a superior wasn't worth it, but the price overall was ok.
Although we were in the new block of ground floor rooms with doors out to a open area (patio) the actual room was (in our opinion) a normal double room, with bed, two seats, a dressing table/unit, a onsuit with showers (see photos)
We thought a superior room would be as advertised, a larger room with a sofa etc but this room was not like that.
The food on the evening (half board) The credit you were allowed £25pp was only enough for a main meal, cost varying from £19.95 - £31.
We chose to have the duck (£30) which we regretted as this was very disappointing, the duck was slightly underdone, the veg was undercooked, chewy and hard to cut, on top of this it took them 45mins to serve our dinner.
Then after we finished our meal and asked for our bill, we found they had charged £8.00 service charge! We had one course (half board) that was £5pp over the £25pp allowance, which was 45mins late and I had one alcohol free drink.
I did complain about the food so the service charge was removed.
The breakfast was delicious, hot and cooked lovely, the choice was good as well, so we would recommend the breakfast.
The location was ok, in the town, it was just the parking that was really the problem.
All in all we did like our room but as I said a bit disappointed as it was our wedding anniversary and I wanted something special.
The staff were very polite and friendly, there was a female member of staff that was great but unfortunately I can't remember her name, she was the lady that checked us in on Monday afternoon

Very efficient every time we’ve booked through Secret Escapes.

Simple but effective. However, I hadn’t realised that the holiday was being led by a third party, which has added more time to what should be simple task.

Easy to book. Checked other well known sites and Secret Escapes came out slightly cheaper. I'm a regular booker on this site.
Maybe a discount for regular valued customers?

We can't praise our Secret Escapes holiday to Ischia enough. Transport arrangements were spot on and we have never had such efficient and friendly service in a hotel (La Pergola). The included trips were fantastic - we loved it all. Although we have booked many hotels with Secret Escapes, this is the first package holiday and we will definitely book with them again.
