came in today (friday)with a simple nail puncture leaking pressure . good customer and local but would not fit me in until tuesday next week. blank expression and felt an inconvenience.

Buxton branch - Great service
Buxton branch. Replaced 4 tyres in VW transporter camper. Great quick service, good advice and friendly staff. Would recommend.
Ripley branch
Ripley branch. Same day availability for booking on a bank holiday, very last minute request but no problem at all from the chaps on site. Checked out my 2 front tyres free of charge and would not accept anything at all as payment despite taking up their time. I chose not to get tyres from them owing to a family member having 2 tyres already but the prices offered were very fair.
Really kind
Buxton - very kind guys, helped my 83 year old mum when she over heated her car sat in traffic in fairfield when severn trent stuffed up the traffic. Came out, helped her start her car and gave her some advice to stop it happening again.
Still awaiting call from area manager…
Still awaiting call from area manager had a call from manager who scammed me but still waiting for area manager to call. Buxton select a tyre
Snake oil
Went into the Eskdaill branch in kettering for a tyre change, they sorted the tracking as well. No problems there. Apart from it being more expensive than anywhere else. But I was happy to pay a bit more as I got in on the day, everywhere else was booked up. Could be a reason for that..
They noticed my right front shock absorber was leaking oil. Bob rang up Euro car parts while I was there. Originally it started on speaker phone, when it got to the price he took it off speaker. Fair enough, I know they put a mark up on parts. Bob then told me they were £600 for each shock absorber! I told him that was insane, he agreed but told me they would fit them for free but its not something they would normally do.
I looked online and found the parts on euro car parts... £300 for each shock. He'd put a markup of 100% on each shock absorber and then tried to sell it to me as if he was doing me a favour by fitting them for nothing... it will be a big job etc. The kind of spiel you'd expect from a snake oil salesman.
Found a pair on ebay for £140, fitting them myself. Won't be using this company again, and would advise you not to either. Unless you're looking to buy some snake oil.
Tried hard sell for unnecessary products. Avoid
My car required 2 tyres for MoT. They were fitted fine at Macclesfield branch but I was told I shouldn’t drive it away as all brakes needed replacing (£450)and front tyres needed replacing too. The mot had a warning on 1 brake disc and the front tyres are nearly new. I took the car back to the mot station and they said they were talking rubbish and were just trying to frighten me to part with another £600.
The required rear tyres are fine but I’m not going back to somewhere so untrustworthy.

What a great service from Dan at Selecta Tyre Macclesfield... Outstanding and such lovely customer care too.
Highly recommended for all your tyre needs and the work was carried out very promptly too 😊
Many thanks Shirley
on line booking - incorrect tyres and services not available
Went on-line and gave reg number and chose tyres (Goodyear) based on price/recommendations. Booked in for 10am at Rugby. 1045am fitter advised the tyres were 'incorrect' as not adequate load rating. On checking the on-line tool identifies the vehicle (a van) but proceeds to give numerous tyres that are unsuitable, there is no filter/option to verify the load rating etc so this is potentially dangerous as well as delays/costs involved. 11/2 hrs to get 2 tyres changed and tracking not available despite booking in and paying.
Exceptional
Exceptional i took my skoda to buxton branch for a wheel alignment with no appointment. They got the car in and done while I waited. They told me in detail what needed to be done and how much each thing would cost. Big thanks to a great team
Legends
Had a problem with tyre pressures, they looked at my car and fixed it. Because it was me being an idiot and not a problem and a simple fix, no charge. Legends, obviously not cowboys. Will get my business next time there is a problem because of their honesty.

No Major Repairs please..
On 17th April 2024, I contacted Selecta Garage located at Crewe to assess the weird sound coming from my vehicle while braking. After diagnosis, I was told that both Front Suspension arms needed replacement and shared a quote with me. Since I was quite desperate to get the vehicle fixed ASAP I agreed and went ahead with the replacements. By around 5:45PM I received a call back from garage stating all issues were sorted and ready for collection. I collected my vehicle and started back to my home. On my way back another weird sound started coming from the vehicle. This time not while braking but while running! The sound started to increase like anything and not knowing what was happening, I had to stop my car. I tried reaching out garage but it got closed at 6PM. so I reached out to another friend of mine who does basic car repairs. He came and in his assessment he realised the sound was coming from the nearside front tyre area (some kind of metal rubbing against each other). He removed the tyre and observed that the backing plate was bent and rubbing against the brake disc which caused the weird sound. He said that this might have happened during the front arm installation by mistake from the installer. He also added that the chances are nearly zero that it will get bent during the drive due to any other reasons. He fixed the bent and the issue was resolved. Almost 2.5 hrs of my time and money were wasted on a mess created by the garage. After reaching home I watched couple of videos of how the front arm installations are performed in a car and I came to know that this Backing plate is located so close to the arms that chances are quite high to get this bend during Arm replacement time.
I am just adding a video link below to get clarity on this and if you look at timestamps 2:42,3:05 and 3:44 you will understand what I am referring to.

The next day I went to the garage to enquire about this unprofessional install which they performed the previous day. I met the guy who repaired my car and When I started speaking "Hi, yesterday After leaving the garage a weird sound was coming....." Suddenly he stopped me and said that it might be due to some other reason and not related to yesterday’s install by any means. Seems like he didn't want to hear my issue in full at all and wanted to make a statement that Garage has nothing to do with the issue.
Later I asked him to listen to the issue in detail such as from where the sound was coming and what was causing it. I show him the pictures of how the plate was rubbing against the disc pad which I managed to capture yesterday. At this moment I did observe a change in his expression but he again said he hadn't touched that area at all. I started to realise that he is not going to admit this at all. Since I don't want to waste my energy more I left the garage.
I have been a customer of Selecta for years but majorly doing Tyre replacements. They were all fine but for the First time choose them to perform a major install and this was the experience. I won't suggest them for major repair works on your car.
I would absolutely use the service again.
I was let down by one branch and sent to another close by, who delivered excellent customer service and did all they could to correct the issue. Overall, despite the original booking, I came away very impressed with the service and will be returning. Thanks Bobby.
My partner went to selecta with a slow…
My partner went to selecta with a slow puncture in the rear near side tyre. She was told that there was a large thorn in the tyre and was charged £77 for a new one.
It wasn't until the other night that she came home from a 20 mile journey with only 8 pounds of pressure in the same tyre. I had a look myself the next morning only to find it was the same tyre that was supposed to have been changed but they had changed the front tyre instead. Now to me that wasn't just a mistake it was a rip off because the one they changed was only 6 months old and never had a puncture. I returned the car myself yesterday and was given a new tyre to replace the punctured one, which means I have 2 tyres for the price of one, but the way I see it is that we are £77 down when possibly the puncture could have been repaired. BEWARE!!!
Excellent service and fantastic staff…
Excellent service and fantastic staff at the Rugby branch.
Had work done by someone else who caused more problems than solved, went to selecta and the staff there were more than happy to go out of their way to help me get my car back on the road.
Will definitely be going back again if I need any more work done on my car.
20 out of 10 for service.
Belper, Derbyshire branch - brilliant!
Simon and Craig were fantastic this morning! Simon went above and beyond to change my tyre, check the tracking and potential damage following a collision with a concrete lump in the road. The service was very friendly, efficient and reassuring. I am so grateful to have this branch as my local as I feel totally confident with their work. Thank you so much!
