How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
Let me start by saying that I am not someone who regularly complains or leaves negative reviews. In fact, if you look through my Trustpilot or Google review history, the vast majority of my reviews are 5-star reviews praising businesses that have provided good service. I only leave negative feedback when I genuinely feel it is deserved, and unfortunately this experience falls firmly into that category.
We initially used the company's online valuation system and were offered £5,475 for the vehicle.
We then provided full details via WhatsApp, including the fact that the car had only partial service history and damage to exterior panels, together with photographs.
Following this, the offer was reduced to around £4,000 during a phone conversation. Once the documentation and photographs had been reviewed in full, this was reduced to £3,750.
Approximately two to three weeks ago, my girlfriend and her father attended the Touchwood branch, where the vehicle was inspected. Following that inspection, they were offered £3,200. My girlfriend declined the offer at the time in order to consider selling the vehicle privately.
Earlier this week, I spoke with a member of the management team and explained that £3,200 had been offered during the previous visit. He then checked with the branch and advised that the offer was actually £3,000. Although disappointed, I reluctantly agreed to proceed at £3,000.
I was specifically told during the phone conversation, that all inspections had already been completed and all I needed to do was attend the following morning with the paperwork. I was assured that I would be in and out within 15-20 minutes and that the £3,000 would be transferred into my account.
When I arrived, despite having email confirmation for a 9:00am appointment, I was told I was booked in for 9:30am. I was then informed that previous inspection notes had not been properly recorded on the system, although I was reassured that the £3,000 offer would still be honoured.
Thinking the deal was done, I provided the relevant paperwork. A member of staff took copies of the identification documents and then proceeded to inspect the vehicle. During the inspection, I was told that, personally, he would not buy the car. Given what I had been told the previous day, I found this comment both unnecessary and highly unprofessional.
Despite being told only minutes earlier that the agreed price would be honoured, I was then asked to start the vehicle. The car was plugged into diagnostic equipment and subjected to another inspection. Following what appeared to be a telephone call to a Director of the business, the offer was reduced once again — this time to a very disappointing £2,500.
To go from an initial online valuation of £5,475 to a final offer of £2,500, despite us being completely transparent about the vehicle's condition and providing photographs, documentation and opportunities to inspect the car, was unacceptable in my opinion.
What frustrated me most was not just the continually falling valuation, but the complete waste of our time. Had I been told the previous day that there was any possibility the figure would change again, I would never have attended. Instead, I was assured that the deal had effectively been agreed at £3,000 and that I simply needed to bring the paperwork.
I rejected the £2,500 offer immediately and left.
Based on my personal experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering selling their vehicle to obtain alternative quotes before committing their time to this company. The entire process felt like a continual exercise in reducing the valuation at every stage, regardless of the information already provided.
A very disappointing experience and one that I certainly would not repeat.

An excellent, friendly service, terminating in a fair price, just a few hundred pounds below the (unseen) offer price as a result of four 'kerbed' alloys.

Arrived about 15mins early and was asked to go away until my alloted time. Despite the reply below, I was asked to take a walk around the wulfrun centre. No waiting areas offered so just had to wander about for a while.
Then got to appraisal. The initial, albeit uninspected offer was dropped by over £1000 due to the 'wet belt' not having been replaced. This despite the fact that the vehicle in question uses a chain for timing. No wet belt at all as confirmed by the manufacturer but still had to argue the point. Then more excuses about it needing a full mop, when all it needed was a good coat of wax polish. And one of the wheels, which I knew about required a burnish for a 1 inch surface scratch. When I pointed out the retail costs of having those 2 things done, and I had checked, it would have been at most £350, so for them, no doubt a significant amount cheaper.
I ended up walking away. I understand that they're a business and are out to make as much profit as they can, but treating customers this badly speaks volumes about what they are really like.
I went in hoping to do a deal, and they blew it.
And yes, the appraiser did come and admit he had made a mistake about the wet belt. Still, he should have found out first before offering such a large reduction in price. Even when he had admitted his mistake, he had the opportunity then to revise his offer but didn't. As for the paint swirls, that's to be expected on a 7 year old car. A good polish back with a decent buffing compound would be more than enough to bring back it's shine. So that just leaves the wheel. All in all a lowball offer and an opportunity to correct it out the window and the management then reply with more nonsense. Seems the concept of good customer service doesn't apply here.

Met with Graeme at the Tamworth Branch. Very friendly, professional and offered a great price.
I used this service last year also, both visits have been great.
Would highly recommend

Great service from Graeme, made the process simple and what a nice guy he was. They do however knock a large value off original given value, anything showing on MOT (advisories), part service history, scuffed alloys and marks/paintwork/dents on car, my quote significantly dropped by over £800.00. Nevertheless the money was instant and the service was smooth. Thank You
