Down time and extortionate pricing
Having been a servage client for 16 years, I had put up with the odd downtime and vague control panel. The last straw, however, was the incredible price increase from $32 CAD every 3 months to $157 CAD...
Although Servage had announced improved security, better servers, full databases, etcetera, it does not justify such an abrupt increase. Even the sister site recommended is no great bargain.
I have given up completely on Servage, and have found a newer and happier home for my webs.

Thanks, but no thanks to Servage!
Terribly disappointed in their 400% price increase. Been with them over 15 years, the service was manageable and okay for what I needed. But this new increase just doesn't justify any service offering they may give. Other hosting services offer newer services at competitive prices, hence I'm moving all my domains away from Servage, to a new home that still gives good service at a good price. Thanks, but no thanks to Servage!
Poor Control Panel and Ridiculous Price Increase
16 years as a customer and totally agree with other recent reviews below.
Their Customer Service has been good but the previous control panel upgrade resulted in a clunky slow experience when adding or editing my email setup, which I complained about many times but it never improved.
My account has just fallen due for renewal and I was appalled to find a price increase of over 420%. Even worse was only being given a months notice and effectively being forced to move all of my hosting at very short notice, resulting in my emails being down for several days as the DNS systems updated during the move to a new provider with no support from Servage.
They did offer a discount to move to their sister company but this wasn't any better. The Swedish website appeared to work okay, but on the English version I was unable to check out. When I contacted them to say I didn't speak Swedish and the English version of the website wouldn't let me buy hosting, they replied to me by email in Swedish. I decided it would be wise to give them a wide birth, having lost all trust or confidence in the parent company.
Its interesting to see the other recent reviews are all from long term customers treated in the same way, such a shocking way to treat such loyal customers.

Recent huge Price Increases
Their recent huge price increases are totally stupid. What planet are the owners on? They are in a competitve market. I will be leaving them very soon unless they reduce their prices to something near current levels. This will be a large hassle but I have no choice as I am not a profit making company. No amount of increased service can justify these increases.
Everyone is jumping ship
Everyone is jumping ship, Just like me... For the 400% increase in hosting rates.. Been with them for 18 years! They won't even advertise what you get now for $500/yr? New Owners are killing the Old Company. Pure Greed... Sad to see them in Bankruptcy soon.

16+ Years and the price increase is insane.
Maybe a good thing as service wasn't that good with slow web sites and crappy email servers the last few years.
Have now found an alternative at a great deal just a pain moving all web sites and emails over.
Can see the end for Servage as everyone jumps ship or maybe all part of a plan.

Insane price increase, poor service, avoid at all costs!
I've been with Servage for over 16 years and like others have said, the level of service they provide has degraded considerably especially in the last couple of years.
The final nail in the coffin for me was the 400% price increase, which nudged me out of my apathy to go and find a better and more competitively priced host - there are plenty out there. As a result, I have been moving my domains and content over to my new host over the last few weeks, only to discover that 3 .co.uk domains I had requested transfer of are somehow stuck in registrar limbo. After requesting an IPS tag change to my new host / registrar (required for a .co.uk transfer) from Servage, I find they have seemingly not done anything and are now saying my new host needs to accept the change for the domains to transfer. As you might expect, my new host is saying they can't transfer the domains as the IPS tags have not yet changed. Who should I believe, the efficiently run, well reviewed new host, or the crumbling, frequently lying Servage who can't even manage 1 star on Trustpilot based on their reviews?
Please just avoid at all costs as you WILL regret it if you go with them.
Awful company, insane 400% price hike, feeble excuses for poor service.
Customer for 17 years. hey used to be great, slowly over time their service got terrible, they reduced the service they provided, brought in a new, worse and more confusing control panel with fewer options and even worse customer support. Then for the cherry on the crap-cake, they hiked their prices up 5x as much. From £40 every 6 months to over £200 every 6 months is insane. They claim it because they are moving to a new system to improve services next year, well it ain't next year, and you're not providing that improved service yet. Even if they were, a 400% price increase is absurd, especially to drop on someone on short notice. Given the 17 years worth of files, emails and configuration work on there, I have had to reluctantly pay the absurd new price this time, while I find an alternative provider and migrate in the meantime.

Like many others I am outraged by the unjustified massive price increase. A jump from £25.88 to £120 is just outrageous. Long time customer for nearly 16 years!!! If you were worried this would push away your customers, you are absolutely correct.

Stay away from them
Stay away from them! I was there customer for many years, suddenly they have just increased their hosting package over 400%!!! from 50$ to more than 200$. Very greedy!
Dont touch 'em
Dont touch them! They have just increaded their ww hosting package which was 40GBP every 6 months up to £200+ evey 6 months, an increase of over 400%!!
They had the nerve to send a customer service email that politley presented the need for this 400% incremenet in service costs, all this in such a competitive market.. jokers!
James saved my bacon in seconds
James saved my bacon in seconds. Unbelievably great work and so fast. Servage have always been a great company, that's why I've been with them for more than 20 years. Great work James you're worth more money!!!
Satisfied with Service and support
I had some problems with running phpBB3 version as I was using an old version. The Servage support team helped me fix the problem with website and also upgraded the phpBB3 version for me. Being not a technical person, such help is really appreciated.
Thank you Servage.
I've been happy with Servage for many years
I've been with Servage for many years. My most recent experience with their help desk was, as always, an incredibly fast and efficient response.
Really happy and good service
Really happy and good service, I accidentally deleted some files and immediately contacted servage with Live chat. The support was extremely helpful and restored the files for me.
Very happy !
Wow! Excellent Service Every Time!
The customer support team is very friendly and helpful. They are available 24 hours a day and they are in contact with you in seconds. In the past 13 years with Servage, I have had about 4 major problems and each time the issue was resolved quickly. Most of my questions are answered on their blog and the web service is very affordable. I often recommend this company to anyone seeking a web host.
Got worse after the move. MUCH worse!
I started using Servage back in 2006, looking for a cheaper host offering lots of bandwidth, which was an important feature back then and my website had gotten popular overnight. And it could support what was back then this hip new tool called WordPress. Back then they were supposedly "Europes" favourite.
There were times when they would disable my website due to heavy traffic and write that there were "allot" of requests. There was one enormously huge blooper in August 2011 when they modified my .htaccess file with no explanation, thus making the entire site inaccessible by disallowing hotlinking to ALL file types. I had weird stuff happen with other hosting companies, too. It's only that they kind of always shame the end user when something happens. And this was something nobody would have done to their own website.
Everything else worked OK until the February-April 2019 server migration. During the said move I lost the entire/ wp-content/uploads/ folder from my biggest website with images dating to as long ago as mid-2004! I saw people complain about the same thing and their folders were equally old and large. I asked Servage for my files and they SUPPOSEDLY could not retrieve it. That was the first big no.
But I was not well-off and I needed temporary hosting for other websites I maintain, so I brought them in, too.
It's important to notice that the problems persist only with the website that has been hosted by Servage since 2006. The "new" ones, one of them pretty large, had their own issues, but simple support requests were enough to solve the issues.
Problems with the "old" site continue.
Ever since the move, I have been experiencing glitches whenever I try to update my website, upload something to it and whatnot. 100 Kb images take up to fifteen minutes to upload, they lag at about 10% for a long time at first and they STILL might end up showing as blank placeholders on pages. I keep on getting connection errors when editing one page at time and it takes so, so long to do anything.
For example, it takes twenty seconds to load a post gallery with a single image if I click on a feature image to change it. Twenty.seconds.
Once I press "save" or "publish", it may take up to two minutes for the operation to finish.
Support told me to edit the .user.ini file and increase memory, but this makes no sense. If you have anything even remotely large - it won't work. I don't think that a WordPress website that isn't corporate, commercial or receiving a six-digit number of page views per day actually needs 256 or 512 for anything. It's impossible.
So, wasting time doing super-simple things, such as adding a new post or an image? Yes. And it goes on behind the scenes, too.
The new control panel for the customers lacks an awesome old mySQL one click backup feature as well. One has to access each database separately and back it up through phpMyadmin.
Similarly, you can only download your website to back it up through FTP, which is slow and nowhere near as good as it used to be up to early 2019.
As others suggested, nothing improved when Servage was purchased by the (in)famous Loopia. We got a new support system which requires us to log twice as if we were not already logged through the control panel and it works even worse than before. I never had two support tickets at the same time, but I was told that you get locked out if you do. That's just terrible, given that one can have different issues on multiple websites.
I am planning to move my stuff someplace else once I have money to spare and so should you! Every penny is precious in 2020.
OMG! "Was very nearly about to pay them for shared hosting tomorrow".
Cant believe what I've just read!!
I just did a search to investigate if Servage is any good or not but thought Google it and see reviews etc.
Form the last 7 reviews I have just read. Think I will pass and search for a stable WordPress server...
Thank you all on Trustpilot as all these reviews are recent and not old.....
So as the saying goes. "There's no such thing as smoke without fire" so if you are reading this be forewarned.
Thanks everyone and will now check all server providers using this website now.

Rubbish!
Rubbish!! Been with Servage for 7 years and when the last management SOLD out to Loopia we thought it would improve (LOL) its the same and if NOT worse and NOT worth [ wasting your time ] reading the website, paying to test it, then having a bad experience sending messages to support all the time... go to known Top 10 WordPress servers in online searches
The bottom line, it can't support WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, or Opencart, etc.
Be warned and if reading this after you set up an account with Loopia / Servage? Good luck trying to get your money back....?

Stay away
Stay away, there's simply no reason to stay with Servage. I created my account with them in 2004 and was a happy customer until things started getting worse and worse. Slow websites, errors, issues with the database. For a time you couldn't even pay with a credit/debit card.
Read other reviews and stay away from them, plenty of better options out there.
