Andy McGuire the man from SGN.

Andy McGuire called out tonight as my neighbour smelt gas,Andy had to gain access to my property to check if the gas smell was coming from my home.Andy was very profestional in carrying out his job,explained why he was doing it and let me know all was fine.

We had a gas leak and the engineer John…

We had a gas leak and the engineer John Wall was with us within 45 minutes of our call. He took a great deal of trouble to find and rectify the leak. We are very grateful to all concerned. Graeme and Jean Harris of Petts Wood.

Had gas engineer out by the name Andy…

Had gas engineer out by the name Andy McGuire. Thankfully we did as we had a small gas leak very helpful and was able to explain in detail what the issue was. Very pleasant and helpful thank you so much for your assistance Andy

SGN £700 , move metre 12 inches it's fleecing the poor

I asked SGN. ( scottish gas network) to move my gas meter approx 35 cm or 14 inches they quoted £494 which is bad enough but then I found out I have to pay for the old meter to be attached another £100 and then I found out I have to pay another £100 for them to attach my gas heating pipe so in totall £700. for cutting 2 pipes and reattaching them ( moving a meter 12 inches ) . disgusting SGN laughing all the way to the bank

Sticky Start, Good Finish.

After a sticky start due to some staff leaving their business and being overlooked for a week, having spent a weekend digging a 20m trench. The staff, both at the complaints level and depot level, took my complaint seriously and acted promptly. Actually bothering you show face and own up. The work also took less than expect and I received a rebate without hassle.

Decent response, professional staff, happy with the end result.

A great service

Woke up to the smell of gas in my house. Despite it being Saturday, within an hour, an engineer was out. He quickly ascertained I had two small leaks around my meter, fixing them straightaway with minimal fuss. A great service.

What a brilliant company SGN are!

What a brilliant company SGN are! From start to finish they have been on the ball, reasonably priced, quick to respond and friendly. Couldn't rate them more highly. Totally refreshing to get this level of service. Well done SGN!

Brilliant Response to Dodgy Pipes

SGN have been amazing. We started digging in the garden of our very old house to prepare for a driveway and to our dismay, found 3 incredibly old looking pipes less than 3cm beneath the surface, one of which we knew to be our gas pipe due to where it lead, and of course legally the pipes should be much deeper than that. We called SGN who sent someone out within the hour to inspect it. Within a couple of days we had a team out digging a trench to move it and in doing so moved our gas meter for us to an appropriate location, another task we had in the pipeline. Had a bit of rigmarole with other companies trying to ascertain who the remaining 2 pipes belonged to/what they were; SGN sent another team out who confirmed what they are for us and confirmed we can move them ourselves.
The staff we spoke to on the phone were great and the teams that have come out each time have been so friendly and helpful to what was an unexpected situation that we thought would be a nightmare! Thank you SGN.

Thankyou so much SGN

All i can say is very impressive….Stuart was our engineer,who did exactly what we asked, he speedily moved our gas point,leaving the front of my house tidier than it was before,keeping us informed with texts and pics as they worked,my partner and i were at work,so it really put our minds at rest. So thankyou to all the team…very professional

Great and educational experience

Thought we had a smell of gas in the flat but turns out to be a whole other plumbing issue with the boiler. Danny from SGN worked really hard to explain everything that was going on, and checked everywhere for gas just for our peace of mind. He went out of his way to explain the issues with the boiler and the plumbing even thought it wasn't gas related. Amazing experience.

Great Service

What a pleasure it was to have SGN team working in the building of Number 2 Windsor Street Edinburgh. Each one of the men were not just cheery and efficient but polite and considerate. This is very unusual in this day and age, so very much appreciated. Thank you.

SGN have not paid rent for occupying my land for over 6 years

More about SGN's deceitful and unethical behaviour... Following the UK court rejecting SGN's despicable attempt at trying to effectively get squatters' rights over my company Consumonics' land, they have since not paid a penny in rent in 3 years for this space since they lost the case. In total they owe me rent for more than 6 years but they have played delay tactics through their crooked lawyers...and I have all the evidence to prove this. For a profit making company and a plc they really are the most unethical organisation. You cannot trust them. Beware. I will be revealing even more about their unethical actions and behaviour.. watch this space.

FIXED AND APOLOGISED

We had a gas leak from SGN’s work but they were so fantastic in following it up, placing an investigation into the matter fully, and just the aftercare of their work with apologising to us and making sure that we were OK and happy. Can’t fault them for them fixing their mistakes.

Unfortunately SGN do not consistently…

Unfortunately SGN do not consistently plan their roadworks with vulnerable road users in mind, nor follow current guidelines. When contacted they defend their position even though they have a set up on the same street that complies. SGN reference number is 2281338.

Really rubbish service

Really rubbish service. They dug up the double yellow line on the access road outside my flat, and overpainted the patches they dug up, leaving the old faded one so it looks like a single line. This caused endless access issues in the past. When challenged, the line is 'that's not our job', so rather than paint literally a few extra metres, they expect the council to send another crew out, which will take months and cost the tax payer for something which could simply have been fixed in a matter of minutes.

Disappointed that there are negative…

Disappointed that there are negative reviews as my experience was so different. A meter move as it was previously inaccessible to me. The young men were exemplary in every possible way and could not have improved on the service they provided to me. Thank you gentlemen. Damn It!!!
They even cleaned the meter….
