I purchased an outdoor clock in Otter Nurseries, Honiton in August 2022 with a 2-year Warranty. In December 2023 the clock stopped working and long story short, with the efficient work of Tracy, the clock was replaced, arriving in Litchfield within 2 days. My trust and faith in human nature is restored. A great Customer Service indeed. Thank You Tracy and sgpuk, as you stand over your products.
Terrible company to work for, head office has no human resources to cover employees rights.
The only reason why this company is still successful is because old people buy cheap products manufactured in China which makes 10 times worse and there’s no quality on the product, instead of buying something overpriced, please look for an actual product retailer in China you can get the product cheaper from China and the product quality will be the same so you won’t chase this company under replacement chance where you most likely will get told that replacement will be as a gesture of a goodwill which means company is trying to avoid problems and saying to you fu*k off in polite way😄🤡🤡🤡

My friend today bought me a mirror. It can be used either inside or out. Unfortunately, the very small fixing on the back snapped off as soon as i put it on the wall hook. It was ridiculously small and fragile. Not wishing to disappoint her i now have to find a way to fix it without her knowing it was faulty.
We have purchased 3/4 different styles of solar powered lights for the garden - string lights, lanterns etc - through a leading garden centre.
Almost without exception. the lights look very nice in the frst year, but having stored them away for winter and then got them out again the following spring, they stop working properly - if at all.
On a couple of occasions, replacements have been provided outside of the warranty period (which is only valid for one year), but this year having encountered a similar problem, the replacements have failed within 3/4 months.
This depsite switching them off to allow the lights to fully recharge on sunny days and changing batteries (at no small cost).
The solar light products are very poor quality and do not last. They are a waste of money!
We will not purchase them again and would suggest others think very carefully before buying solar lights from Smart Garden Products.
My wife bought the Illumina Magical Lit Table, about twelve months ago which stopped working. On opening the Solar light unit where the battery is, we noticed that the whole contacts /unit was corroded inside. The unit is meant to be a sealed unit, and on closer inspection the top of the solar panel light had a slight gap on two sides where it should have been a tight fitting to prevent water getting in. Obviously this was a manufacture error that was not really noticeable until the light stopped working. We have now ordered a replacement solar unit and hopefully this will be sealed better, and last longer than twelve months. Personally the design of the solar unit is poor and should really have a simple rubber seal around the top to stop the ingress of water. The other alternative would be to put a small amount of sealant around the edge to fill any gaps. A simple manufacture procedure would have prevented this!!
I had a problem with their 4050010 garden arch slate
Emailed Tracy at their customer service department and she sorted it out without any fuss and made what could have been a very disappointing experience into very much a positive one
Chapelwood Mealworm & Suet Bird Feeder. Poor design. Brittle plastic to push the spindle through which didn't want to go even with bit of help from some soap so half broke off. Will try and make it work some how but disappointed as it was a present and I can't return it.
Wouldn't take much to improve it's ease of assembly.
Having, purchased the Solar Peacock Wind Spinner from this company as a birthday present for a friend. It arrived within 2 days (brilliant!). However, we found that there was a part missing and so, having contacted the company by email I was professionally and promptly informed that I would receive the part or the section with the part missing by way of a replacement. Unfortunately, that was 10 days ago. Of which prompted me telephoned them, only to be informed, they do not deal with the issue as it is outsourced and to expect a delivery within the next 14days. When I questioned as to why it is taking so long, having already waited 10 days. Although, the response from the customer service person was concise. Unfortunately, when I again stated that this was an extremely long time to wait on a part. I was informed that this was a within date and not an exact date. However, when I again stated my concern that the duration was extremely long. The response was yet again reiterated but this time it was said with such a sense of disdain, it left me questioning as to whether I was in fact going to receive the part and that the customer service person, quite frankly, couldn't care less. Needless to say, I'm now going to return the item as "not fit for purpose". But gawd! knows how long that process will take. And, so, as a warning to others I thought I would share a summary of my experience with this company (the full extent of the call is far too long). But the long and short of my review is... "Buyers Beware!!"
I had a DAMASQUETTE LANTERN_ CREAM for a present from my daughter it didn't work she returned it to shop and had a replacement same again it didn't work. Sent an email to the company explaining the fault I didn't even have a reply .
I will not use this company again and would not recommend them to anybody.RUBBISH
We purchased the 4050010 - Woodland Garden Arch from Dobbies Swansea on 2nd June 2020. Many of the boxes on display had clear damage to the box so the garden centre staff kindly found one that looked the in the best condition.
We opened it today to build it and imagine our disgust to see 3 of the cross bracing struts we’re split…one really badly indeed. All of which are unusable.
Can I stress that clearly isn’t damage caused during transit, but is due to low quality materials, appalling manufacturing standards, and staff who don't give a damn.
You’d think that someone in the factory would see what they’d done as it was made and simply thrown them away, but it’s a sad indictment of the manufacturer when they knowingly pack faulty, damaged and/or substandard parts knowing full well that they are being bought in good faith.
Even if all the parts had been OK, I must be totally honest and say that the quality of the product is appalling anyway…and certainly not worth the price tag!
We have been trying to contact Dobbies Swansea all day but they are not answering the phone so will try again tomorrow.
I purchased the smart solar oxygenator and solar fountain , they were not cheap £90 for both . They only work when extremely bright sunlight and stop when even a shadow crosses them . The oxygenator stops working and has to be h plugged and put back in to work. Waste of birthday money family gave me .
I purchased multiple solar flame lights from smart solar late last year. After the winter we charged all the batteries and now they stay on in daylight or don’t work at all. Customer services collected my lights to inspect them but I’m still waiting for them to tell me what they are going to do about it. Out of 16 large post lights 15 have failed in less than 8 months, the smaller lights are all going wrong as well. Bottom line - you might as well throw your money away- do not buy their products
My mother in law bought the Queensbury 3 tier solar panel fountain. What a joke. The plastic piping was not long enough. And not only was it not long enough, but they glued it on one end. So even if you went to BnQ and got more piping you couldn't get the other one off!! Absolutely pointless. Got a 3 tier fountain left in a box.
Bought a Stonegate Wall Clock & Thermometer 14in for our garden, the packaging says indoor or outdoor use, ,went home and thankfully opened the packing carefully, inside was an instruction leaflet, reading it I couldn't believe what I was reading, keep away for direct heat and bright sunshine? , how can the clock be suitable for outside when it can't be left in bright sunshine? took the clock straight back and got our money back
Had a remote control issue, spoke to Wendy in customer services, undoubtedly the best customer service agent I have had contact with in a very long time. I will look out for Smart garden products purely for the customer service
The garden clock they've sold me is excellent in many ways, but about three-quarters of the advertised surface area (and a bit over half the volume, if you count its depth). The advertised measurements in centimetres (where the first two figures are the overall and face diameters respectively, and the third is the depth) were: 40 x 36 x8, and the actual ones are: 35 x 30 x 6.
This is mis-selling - only the palaver of packing and posting stops me from returning it.
I bought a Smart Garden Products greenhouse through Aldi with a three year guarantee. When it began to drop to bits I called the number listed as the warranty number (which was for SGP) and was told to put my case in writing with photos of the deterioration. I then got a reply from SGP saying there was nothing they could do for me and to speak to Aldi. Aldi were very helpful, although I had to dismantle the greenhouse and send it back to them (at their expense) and issued a full refund. BUT on my phone bill arriving this month I have found that my 2 minute and 36 second phone call to Smart Garden Products had cost me £1.87 as they use a PREMIUM RATE NUMBER with them PROFITING from my call when they could not even honour the guaratee! So beware of ringing them with a complaint for fear that you will be GREATLY out of pocket!!
I bought a wall clock which stopped working after a few months. Contacted the customer service team who were absolutely amazing. They responded quickly and professionally and sorted out a replacement immediately. Both clocks arrived well packed. I love my clock and would like to thank everyone at SGP - its so rare to find good old fashion no messing customer services.
Purchased three bags of 'Smart Garden product's ' 'Jumbo sphagnum moss' to line six 14 inch baskets - plenty, I thought, as the claim on the packaging was that one bag would line three 14 inch baskets - one bag did one basket. Though the moss was damp, as expected, it came out of the bag in small tufts, not in the large clumps as other moss I have purchased in the 20 plus years of making-up baskets. So consequently the moss fell through the holes in the side of the basket! All three bags were the same, and at £7.99 a bag it makes the baskets very expensive!
Obviously I needed more moss but this time I used a different garden centre and a different brand of moss, which was a much superior product!
Zero, nill, no stars for this one!
I purchased SGP Orb string solar lights from a retailer which failed after 8 months. The retailer, Power Bee, didn't want to know and said there was only a 6 month guarantee. Contacted Wendy at SGP and she swapped them out straight away - great customer service, thank you
