We bought a Lewis dining table and bench and couldn’t be happier. Exactly as per the website pics so just what we wanted and also delivered on schedule as promised. Great value in our view and a lovely quality characterful finished product. Highly recommended!

We have just received our dining table and bench and we are delighted with the quality of the products! The wood is finished to such a high standard. Very easy to assemble. The company are great to speak to, very easy and flexible after we had to change our address. They catered to our needs of the finish on the table and bench and were just delightful to speak to. Apart from the delivery being weeks later than we were told. I paid for a table and bench 'set' but only the table was delivered despite numerous emails in an attempt to sort this out I have had no reply. Customer service is non existent. Beware what you pay for. I will be taking this further.

Shabby Bear Cottage made us a beautiful table and bench for our patio - it's already had great use and really looks the part. Definitely would recommend - and the team are wonderful to deal with, really friendly.

So I have hesitated to post a review but I feel the time is now right as I have deliberated and considered how I view my purchase for a while.
I originally ordered an industrial style dining table late last year which was received on time with no issues.Whilst I fully understand the nature of the wood and its characteristics my table had a fault which I believed might worsen and so I raised my concerns with the company.
A replacement was offered which I was happy to accept.
After a slight mix up I eventually received this a few weeks ago.
So the colour is not what I ordered but I don't consider that a big deal now.
My issue is with the gaps and splits down 2 of the planks,not the edges of planks which are really good.
I notice that a sawdust and glue filler has been used in the finish here and there which is brilliant but I cannot understand why it's not used all over.
To conclude I would say that the service and responses I had from Georgina was brilliant and I shall keep and take care of my table but I also have a suggestion.
Maybe supply a small.pot of both stain and filler with each purchase for touching up.I would have kept the original if I could have had that and I still miss that one!

A huge disappointment from start to finish. The only good thing about this company is their website. Avoid!! After chasing, I eventually took delivery two weeks after the latest date stated for delivery. The two items (desk and bookshelf) arrived wrapped in plastic wrap (cling film) and the top of the desk was damaged in transport. Both pieces were a poor finish with gold screws in the black metal and spaces of black spray paint missed on the desk legs. The dark oak I ordered arrived looking a very pale yellow colour. I emailed (no phone number available!) and asked to arrange a return for the damaged desk. Over a week later, I got a reply offering a kit to buff out the indents and some wax to darken the desk. Not happy!!!!

I bought what I thought was a dining set.
I even paid extra for a “tip” !!
The delivery was a month late, screws missing and trying to talk to someone is impossible. They advertise a phone line but it’s disconnected. I think the only communication is with AI.
Lesson learned with on line purchases. Some of them are not to be trusted.

Absolutely disgusting. This service has been nothing short of disrespectful considering we still haven’t received a refund for the bench ordered over 3 months ago. The table also took 2 months to be delivered, and when received was not the correct item.

We have requested a refund on both items but weeks have passed and we cannot make contact. They have no contact number, the live chat doesn’t work and they have stopped responding to emails.

This has been absolutely disgraceful treatment and a truly awful experience, shabby to say the least.

Absolutely terrible quality furniture. Having paid £500 for a combined bench and table, the quality of the goods is terrible. The planks come apart, the quality of the wood is very poor and the wood has not been treated properly. There are no predrilled holes for assembly - the instructions state that this is for "ease" but I suspect this is more likely to be due to cost.
The instructions are also very unprofessional - there are lots of smiley emoji faces but not much I'm the way of useful information. I highly regret this purchase. I would strongly advise any other customer to avoid.

I have ordered two items from Shabby cottage, shelves and coffee table, let me list the negatives:
1. Both items are in two different colours
2. The shelves rock as the feet are NOT level
3. No communication from the company whatsoever, you are in the dark.
4. They were over a week late
5. Not sure if the wood is treated but the coffee table has resin coming out of it...
6. Coffee table has been sanded down on one edge to a point where its almost impossible to put a glass down.

2. You have only been replying on live chat until I mentioned a return.
3. I am not sure what bench you are talking about, I did not order a bench?
4. I never refused to return the items, in fact I have email proof that I have accepted the return and provided you with my collection address.
5. The items are defective and are of different colours - I have proof in a shape of a picture of the items next to eachother.
6. I dont want a full refund, I want a refund for the item which is not what I ordered, again, I have proof of how different and low quality the item is compared to what you advertise on your website.
7. I have decided to deal with this with my bank based on all the other reviews I have read about business with you, also you were not responding beyond the average response time you provide and was worried.
8. During my conversations with you on live chat, you assured me that you don't use TrustPilot and I shouldn't look at the reviews there, I guess that was no the truth as you are responding to my review here ?
9. Yes, I am willing to return the item, for a full refund of the price of the item.

One last thing, instead of wasting energy responding to negative comments, fix your business, I very much doubt all the negative reviews were left because you are doing everything great, I dont think we are in a pact :D, review your processes and how much work you can handle, have some proper quality control in place....

I am sorry that my review is not what you would expect, Although not the best to read, it is brutally honest, you are charging premium prices for no so premium items and service, the quality and finish is below acceptable.

Had to wait ages for delivery but that was expected although once we had the date, the actual scheduled delivery date was put back twice by the delivery company. Tried to communicate with the company after placing the order and my email wasn’t even acknowledged. The product itself (a butchers block) is lovely but it is missing a foot, has a deep scratch on the surface and one of the legs (which are made from girders) has been put on the wrong way round. I’ve contacted the company twice and haven’t heard anything yet, after more than a week. I strongly suspect this is a Chinese website with no physical presence in the UK.

Shabbybear cottage made us the most beautiful shelf stand. super quality, very stylish and exactly what we wanted. Delivery and communication were excellent and we can’t recommend them highly enough!

I bought a beautiful kingsize headboard and honestly it’s stunning. You will have to wait for it but it’s 100% worth it. Shabby bear cottage and the delivery firm they use I found to be really easy, professional and efficient. I would definitely buy other pieces from here, they are simple stunning.

Well honestly just don’t bother purchasing.
I chased for months to cancel this order ( in time with the consumer rights)
Guess what everytime I got a message back none of them cancelled the order even though every email I sent I requested this.

Item was still dispatched to courier even though I stated multiple times that I wanted/want the order cancelled.
So I had to contact the courier and explain the situation they put the item on hold and requested for this to be cancelled.
7 days later I opened a dispute with the bank due to reading the reviews on here.

They have now contacted the bank and fabricated that I had received the item and had returned this in the incorrect packaging ? EVEN THOUGH IT HAD NOT LEFT THE COURIER!

I’ve contacted the company asking for date and time that the delivery had taken place and what courier as I can check my security cameras ( 2 located on front of house can see my entire front and also down the street and the houses located across the street)
Guess what radio silence! I then contacted the courier company and ask whether the item had be delivered. They stated to me ( also sent an email to myself and my bank to confirm that the item had been put on hold since I informed that I had actually cancelled my order and that they had request shabby bear to cancel the item. The courier company then returned the item to Shabbybearcottage.

I then decided to contact starling and trading standards to see what was the best route of action to take ..

Starling then decided that I had grounds to open a case regarding this company.
Cause goes smoothly until shabby bear dispute this and try and state that I imfact had returned the item DAMAGED and incorrect packaging . Well myself and the bank were very confused by this claim as we have proof from the courier had stored the item and returned the product straight to Shabbybearcottage.
I then contacted trading standards and was asked to provide all evidence so I provide all emails from myself to shabby bear / bank dispute and claims from both sides I.e stating that I returned the item incorrectly as the bank situation I provided the courier emails and also the claim via themselves stating that I now owe more to the due to condition of the packaging .
Due to this trading stars advised me to send an email (they provided this if you have enough proof of issue and lack of communication)

As some one that works within customer service I honestly wants to give them some leeway I understand when you are busy ect, But there is such a lack of customer service. Communication is shocking. No questions actually answered and every time I stated I want to cancel within the legal time this was ignored multiple times . Trading standards email was also ignored. Also the fact that there is a lack of data breaches is horrific .
They have posted people’s personal email addresses without consent on replies to customers reviews .

The situation would have dealt with quickly if communication was there or atleast an apology for this entire situation. But instead it was dragged due to them falsely accusing me of returning the item damaged and in the incorrect packaging . When the courier had already stated it did not leave the warehouse due to it being cancelled.

I’m not one usually to complain as I’ve worked within customer services for many years and I understand that customers can be difficult. But you need to learn how to communicate clearly or get some training or get in experienced team of customer services as this will help with most of the complaints. You are not providing a good customer service you lack a lot to do with that side of the business. It is unfair leaving Georgia/Georgina to be dealing with it all by herself she is clearing trying her hardest and she needs more support to be able to manage. This is just advice Customer service needs a team it’s hard work and stressful but you will improve massively
