Easy and straightforward process

Easy and straightforward process.
Knives came back in terrific shape.
Packaging excellent and a small point being the notice of the postal regulations as my post office questioned whether to send via air.

Easy Peasy!

We are very impressed with Sharpenters! Their service is a "well-tuned one", providing easy step-by-step instructions through each step of the process. Our knives came back amazingly sharp! We were so impressed with our returned knives we immediately used them to prepare our dinner. We are looking forward to working with them in the future.

Poor Worksmanship and Service

The first time I sent them two high quality kitchen knives they came back acceptably sharp. The second time, the worksmanship was terrible and one knife more dull than when sent to them. They agreed to attempt to sharpen this one again but when received back it was once again dull and basically unserviceable. I requested they cancel my subscription and issue a refund since the service I paid for was never completed satisfactorily despite multiple attempts They were happy to cancel my subscription but refused to issue a refund citing details of their “terms of service”. I take this to mean that their terms of service permit them to charge for unacceptable work at inconvenience and expense to their customers. I find this to be an unacceptable business model. My experience indicates that they do poor quality work, exhibit poor quality control, and have little concern for customer satisfaction. There are other options and I plan to go elsewhere.

We would like to take this opportunity to share publicly what we have shared privately with you via our customer service channels and we are very sorry that you were not completely satisfied with our service. We understand and take seriously your concerns. Our goal is to always provide our customers with exactly what they are expecting and we've been meeting that goal through our brand since 1965 so whenever we have someone with a negative experience, we do try and resolve it quickly and appropriately. Our Sharpness Guarantee is in place for times like this and we were delighted to give you the free service so that we could bring your knife up to our high standard. After resharpening, inspecting, testing, and shipping the knife back to you, we are quite certain that the blade was very sharp and the workmanship passed our control measures before we reshipped it back to you. Having said that, we do not want to minimize your comments about our service and we take ownership of this experience and hoped to bring this to a satisfactory conclusion for you.

As to the money-back request you made following the free resharpening, it is true that our terms enable you to have your blade resharpened at no cost to you if you are not satisfied with the initial sharpening. This guarantee is in place to ensure that all of our customers receive the service that they intended to receive without risk. We did indeed honor the sharpness guarantee but unfortunately, there are limitations to what qualifies for a refund, and being that your blade was tested for sharpness before leaving our facility (and confirmed to be within the 200 range on the Bess scale), was not in any way damaged or unserviceable and coupled with our commitment to the sharpness guarantee (a $25 value in your particular case), we do feel that you were returned with a blade that was in fact quite sharp. We still extend to you our apologies that your needs were not met and we do thank you for allowing us the opportunity.

Exactly as advertised

Fast turn around, and my knives have never been sharper. I sent 4 very different blade profiles and they all came back safely packed and lovingly sharpened and honed. Will definitely use this service again.

Excellent!!

Clear instructions, time as promised, knives really sharp, pricing fair. I kept three knives back to I had something to use while the first batch was being sharpened. They are on their way to Sharpenters now.

Easy to send the knives, recieved roughly a week later and knives were super sharp. I did the paper slice test, impressive.

Buyer beware

Very poor customer service experience, and it takes forever to get the knives sharpened Buyer beware! Poor customer service they check you into subscription service and then don’t refund you the money. If you do not use the service. I do not recommend this company at all.!

Unfortunately, that was 3 days after your subscription (purchased on July 21, 2022) had been processed and the shipping labels, protective sleeves, and packaging had been sent to you. We ask that our customers let us know prior to their renewal date if they want to cancel their subscription. We do this because when the renewal processes, we ship out the order immediately (this is to help ensure you receive your purchase in a timely manner).

We are very sorry that you do not agree with this process, and we are available to assist you in any way we can. Unfortunately, we are not able to completely satisfy your request but we can speak to you further about this if you'd like to have a conversation with our customer support team. New favorite company to sharpen blades.

Getting the knives shipped was easy. Postage was already paid, so you just pack them, seal and send. The knives I sent had some damage and dings in the blades. When I received them back they looked like brand new, and were extremely sharp. They look precision sharpened.
