We're a small, family-run business based in West Wales, recycling whelk shells from our family's seafood processing factory rather than sending them to landfill. We crush, clean and dry the shells into a sustainable, decorative product ideal for use in the garden and beyond. The shells are available in various bag sizes from 1Kg to 800Kg bulk bags. Great for; Mulching garden beds. Useful for drainage in plant pots. Perfect as a decorative top layer in containers or pathways. Loved by gardeners for being natural, long-lasting, and slug-deterring.

Love my shells
Love my shells. They change my garden pots completely and deter snails and slugs. I also use them in large candle jars instead of, or with sand. They are a perfect enhancement to a potted plant when giving as a gift. Outstanding service too.

The product is exactly as expected and delivered efficiently. I have used it for topping pots and I am very happy with it. The slight fishy smell quickly wears off.

Crushed Whelk Shell. Fantastic mulch and slug repellant - weed control.
Initially found the product via a plant supplier and bought some. So, found Shell On Earth website, looked around it and found bulk bags - placed and order, asked a question and was answered brilliantly same day by the founder MD. Brilliant so far, then whenI dared ask if my 400kg bag could be expedited she upgraded it to 'next day' - at no extra charge. Why can't all businesses belike this!?
