Don't be tempted!

As mentioned in other posts it is best to completely ignore any positive reviews of this website/business - they are clearly fake. Everything negative written about them is true - don't be tempted by the prices you will only be disappointed.
They will happily take your money and after that you can only hope and pray you actually get what you ordered. My experience has been paying for the part, receiving an automated response...and that's it. No amount of e-mailing or phoning has worked - it has just been ignored and if you are in the UK your bank won't do anything about retrieving your money until 15 days has passed without receipt of the goods.
How this organisation are still in business is anyone's guess! It is truly frustrating, dishonest and frankly verging on the criminal. Please, please, please don't make the same mistake I made. For a few extra quid use someone reliable like: Wiggle, CRC, Tredz, etc.
If you choose to ignore all the negative reviews (I didn't come across them until after I had order from them), then good luck!

UPDATE: Wow! If only you responded to customers' e-mails and phone calls as quickly as you do bad reviews on here. I am a genuine customer and my order number is 233959. I look forward to a speedy response with an amazing reason why I have heard nothing about my order since placing it. Thanks.

Think again before you use this company.

Now 10 days since I ordered my item, no one has told me when my item will be delivered. I think I have written 6 emails to them and not one reply, phoned today message said their on holiday for 4 days and I bet they didn't get my item sent before that.
Avoid this company like the plague, I'm surprised they are still in business.
Can you give no stars. Will try because that's what they deserve.

Ultegra groupset

Initial delivery a bit slow but did recieve all items which was well packaged. I encountered a fault with chainset which i was asked to return and supplied a no quibble replacement. Very helpful would recommend and definitely use again for future spares and accessories .👍👍

Needs better communication

I broke a bottle cage before a big sportive, reluctant to have mismatching bottle cages (sad!) I found a replacement on shiny bikes and promptly ordered. I figured that ten days would be ample time to get the product!

The Sportfive came and went and no bottle cage, I called and was told that the product had been dispatched and would be with me in the next two days. Ten more days pass and no product, I called again and spoke with Fraser who told me it must have got lost in the post. (Note to Fraser - Charge a few more quid and make everything recorded delivery, some postman have sticky fingers) By this point the product was now out of stock and I was upgraded from a £16 cage to a £49 carbon equivalent. Ultimately I guess this is a good thing but could've been avoided.

So, would I order again, probably, yes. I now have mismatching bottle cages so will be after the other carbon one to match. I'm all for supporting the smaller bike shops, however these guys have to work harder to keep their customers happy. Good communication is essential, people are generally ok to wait as long as they know what's happening.

I'll be back to edit this post again if I have a different experience. Maybe I should order a campy record group set and see if I get upgraded to super record.....that would be a result!! I somehow doubt that the majority of transactions with shiny bikes end this way or Fraser wouldn't have a business!

Hopeless

Ordered a couple of water bottles on the basis that the website stated they were in stock, that orders would be processed within 48 hours and that shipping would be 2-3 days for the UK. Paid by PayPal. Immediately received an automated and somewhat perfunctory email stating that the order would be processed 'once payment has been confirmed' - which seemed rather at odds with the concept of paying by PayPal, but anyway...

Then nothing further. After 6 days I sent an email asking if the order had been dispatched. No reply. After another two days I sent a follow up email asking if they wouldn't mind responding. To my surprise I got an immediate reply from someone called Fraser apologising for the delay and stating that the order had been shipped the previous day.

Five days later nothing had turned up so I emailed again to advise them of this fact, that PayPal would be debiting my account (on delayed payment) the following day and that I would open a dispute if the goods hadn't arrived by this time. No reply.

I duly opened the dispute on the stated day, leaving a message via PayPal relating the history and that I basically didn't trust the retailer (I'd read the Trustpilot reviews by this time), and I would like a refund. To their credit the refund was made two days later, but without any further communication from Shiny Bikes.

Can't believe anyone can think this a fit way to run a business. Avoid.

Great price will use again

Bought Enigma Etape bike from Shiny Bikes. Great advice over the phone and the price on my bike build was the cheapest I could find for the Groupset and wheels and total package.
The build quality is excellent and I received the bike packaged well and the whole order arrived within a week from when I ordered it.
I generally can't fault Shiny Bikes and I would recommend to the other riders in my club. I will most certainly use them again!!

Terrible Terrible service

Ordered 2 parts from Shiny Bikes for next day delivery after repeated lies about a lost delivery i eventually recieved 1 part and have been lied to on the phone now 3 times while chasing my other part. Never returns calls that he promises to. Terrible terrible service will never ever use this unreliable company again..

Recommended

I have ordered various times from Shiny Bikes and every time my order has arrived complete and relatively quickly.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and in my last order I specifically asked for the 2015 Campagnolo Hyperon (with new quick releases and Certilogo label), which were ordered in and delivered quickly (A+ for customer service).
Cannot be beaten for price on Campagnolo. Small company, small running costs I guess...
I was going to buy a Record groupset but ended up going for Super Record due to the excellent prices.
I have had to wait 10 days for a previous order, but was told this before the sale as the part had to be ordered in specially for me.
Overall, highly recommended. 4 stars instead of 5 as the orders take a few days longer to arrive than the bigger companies, but I prefer to pay less wait a bit longer.

Not good

I rang Shiny Bikes to confirm stock of some wheels, yes in stock. i ordered. the wheels on the Friday night when i got in from work. i also ordered other things from different company's. Everything I ordered from all the other company's came on the Tuesday except the wheels from shiny bikes.
i rang and asked how long, they will be in the post tomorrow, that's 5 days from order, alarm bells started to ring. you will have them by the weekend. i could not get in touch with them on the Friday so i sent a mail to them when my wheel still had not arrived. email: if the wheel are not in the post today credit my pay pal account, no reply, not surprising.
i opened a dispute on PayPal, shortly after that they put tracking information on my PayPal. i checked the tracking information, and it said that the item from shiny bikes could not be seen in the parcel force delivery network, this remained like this for days.
after that i always thought that they never had them in stock after all and it was all bull and lies.
i called them again and they said that they are on the way, this is strange as wheel were on a 48 hr delivery, 2 day late now.
i was told that they would check and see where they were at and let be know, I never got any call back, later that day they credited my money back to PayPal account.
now i waiting for my money to clear in my PayPal account , that another 7 days.
What a total waste of my time, I cannot understand how these company get away with this sort of business.
There should be so rules that state that company's cannot advertise items for sale they don’t have in stock.
So if you want Hassle order from Shiny Bikes.
Totals a Micky Mouse company and well deserving there 100% useless award

Avoid using this company

Delivery very slow.
I phoned several times to chase things up but couldn't get an answer. Email communication also proved to be very poor (most emails generally being ignored)
I requested a refund (via a formal 'signed for' letter) and that was eventually forthcoming but after about 8 weeks.
This company is quite happy to take your payment very quickly but then they fail to deliver - appalling customer service!

AVOID at all costs! Apalling service

Worst service I've ever experienced online. not even worth the one star. Ordered a groupset that took 17 days to be DISPATCHED although I was told via email that it was in stock and ready to go before buying it. Then dispatched on a Thursday meaning that I didn't get it until the following Tuesday. All in all a wait of 22 days for something that is 150 miles away and 'in stock' I have honestly experienced better shipping times for items sent from the US and China.

Chased up the order by telephone but was hung up on. Chased it up by e-mail no less than 6 times, and didn't receive a reply. HOWEVER I have worked out how you get the man to speak to you! You send an e-mail faking interest in one of his most expensive products asking if it is in stock, and then you add the following: 'oh and by the way I made an order with order number _______ a month ago, can you give me any update on its status please'. I actually laughed out loud at my desk when I received an email 8 minutes later saying that the 3 grand bike frame I'd enquired about was in stock and that my order would be dispatched tomorrow.

If i hadn't sent that e-mail I'd probably still be waiting.

Don't order anything from them unless you don't need it till next year and love emailing brick walls. They are not even that well priced to be honest, The groupset I bought is now on wiggle at three quarters the price and has gone up in price on shiteybikes.

Appalling service. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

I ordered a through the Shiny Bikes website and have never received such poor service. It has now been over 3 months of chasing and I still do not have a complete product from them. My phone calls have been ignored (they must have caller id) and when I have managed to get through, I have been lied to. They are completely incompetent.
It is a miracle that they are still in business. DO NOT USE THEM

Great prices, good service and helpful advice

I ordered a new Marin bike from shiny bikes because of the price I was given. Fraser from shiny bikes did tell me at the order point that he would have to order it as he didn't have my one in stock. I was kept informed about the status of my order and as soon as it arrived in stock I got a call fron shinybikes. I would definitely deal again with this company.

multiple purchases with SB of late - some little things, some groupsets - but always knowledgeable on the phone (yes you can call them, unlike Wiggle) and the ability to mix and match a groupset - excellent

might be a while before I buy another groupset - not a third in 2015 for sure - but I'd check them out if I did

Unreliable poor customer service

I have ordered twice from Shiny Bikes and it has been quite disappointing experience. The last time I ordered a seatpost and a quill stem and it took an extremely long time, emails were not answered, I would call and they would promise to respond within an hour and never did, they agreed to split my order and send the part that was in stock but never did. End of the story I have now cancelled my order, am not sure that it has been refunded and the quill stem which was promised has never arrived.

A ridiculously poor performance and I warn against doing business with this company.

Brilliant friendly company to deal with.

I purchased a Pinarello DOGMA from Shiny Bikes. Several phone calls to Frazer the owner he was very helpful, friendly nothing was too much trouble. Transferred the money from my account the bike arrived two days later. I could not believe how well it was packed. There was no chance of the bike being damaged in transit. Just been in touch with Frazer once again regarding a DOGMA for my wife. First time I have used SHINY BIKES but will not be the last.
Great to deal with.

Appalling. Borderline dishonest.

100% honest experience. 7 weeks and counting.

Saw the item I wanted. Great price. In Stock according to the website.
Rang: told it was definitely in stock.
Rang next day: again, definitely in stock, ready to dispatch.
So I committed to my transaction. Over £1,000

I would estimate that after 20 phone calls, mostly answered to be fair, I still haven't had either the product or my money back. And the product has always been "In Stock" according to their website throughout this fiasco.

I've had lies, excuses, "mistakes".

I've had emails from the Courier saying the item is "ready for dispatch" which is just a ploy to shut you up for a few days.

I've listened while the guy on the other end of the phone "processed" my refund: (clatter on the keyboard) "there, done". Only to ring back a week later to be told "oh, we seem to have missed that refund".

So, were you just lying? Just hitting the keyboard?

I've raised a dispute now which should be straight forward as I've obviously never received anything.

Stick to Planetx/Chainreaction/Wiggle/Probikekit/Ribble/etc/etc/etc. too many to name.

We all look at the prices, we all know they're a little too good to be true but think it's worth the risk. Well, if you can afford to be without your money (£10s, £100s, £1000s?) for weeks or months, then it's worth a go. You never know, you might get lucky.

(Ever thought the positive reviews sound a bit too much like advertisements?)
