PPI claim made in July 2019
Made a PPI claim in July 2019 via a claims management company. The company told me that despite regular correspondence to Shop Direct, they received no responses until April 2020 when they asked for my ID. This was duly sent. No further communication until September 2020 when they asked for the ID again having lost the first set. December 2020 the claims management company was told that Shop Direct were closed for the first half of 2020 due to Covid and have a huge backlog to go through. So now I've waited nearly 18 months since my claim was first made and still no further forward. Disgraceful
Received letters dated 22 October 2020…
Received letters dated 22 October 2020 advising I was due PPI compensation and would receive cheques within 8 weeks. Still waiting for cheques plus have a company wanting a commission on the payment which I haven't received! Seems this company has a few problems.
They have caused damage to my credit…
They have caused damage to my credit report at the most inconvenient time. I'm currently going through the process of securing a mortgage to purchase a house and the negligence I have experienced resulted in additional financial burden for me for the years to come, which is unacceptable. Very's organisational decisions resulting in lack of prompt action directly affected my ability to take out a mortgage on preferential terms adequate to my (previously) excellent credit score. While I understand that all businesses struggle at this time it is only fair that Very live up to their reputation and take corrective action.
I have had an account with Very for 16 months. I have always made payments on time. This month, when I attempted to pay, the system showed an error and the payment did not go through.
In the following days I tried to call to resolve the issue. It was incredibly difficult to get through to Very's customer service, as apparently the company is extremely busy at this time due to Coronavirus. I spent hours on the phone trying to get through to your officers. Failing to do that, using the automated options in their phone service, I requested call backs. For some reason I would then get voicemails without the calls ever coming up on my mobile. After a number of attempts finally managed to get connected to one of their customer service officers on the 3rd November 2020.
On the call, I was informed that the payment did not go through on time and I will have that reflected on my Experian/Equifax credit report. I enquired whether settling the account in full would stop this from happening. I was told that it's in the system and it cannot be overridden. I decided to settle the account and close the account regardless to avoid this issue happening in the following month.
I settled the full amount on the 4th November 2020.
On the 15th November my Equifax account was updated, showing that not only is my account not settled, but it's also in arrears and I have a missed payment. This also affected my Experian credit score.
Furthermore, on 4th December by Experian was updated again still showing that the account is open, when I specifically asked for it to be closed.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
This is the worst company EVER.
This is the worst company EVER.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE.
I am owed PPI to the sum of £1615 , they wrote to me on October 7th saying it’ll take 7-14 days...
33 days later still no cheque, rang them, after being on hold for nearly an hour to be told it’ll be 7-12 weeks and then hung up.
Bunch of absolute robbing low life scum
Pity I can’t swear on here, I wouldn’t hold back.
I wouldn't go near them again.
These people are quick to take your money and not inform you of payment issues and then mark your credit file as being in debt or missed a months payment. they also don't update the credit agencies, my account has been paid and closed for over 6 weeks and they still have yet to update the credit agencies who still have me as owing money which is incorrect.

I also ordered the haunted mansion four weeks ago and it still hasn’t turned up. I have emailed the company twice and had no response. Does anyone know if I can claim the money bank through my bank? I paid with a debit card. I would rather have the item as it was to cheer the children up not being able to trick or treat. It’s awful that a company is making children sad by scamming their parents.
Like a couple of people below
Like a couple of people below, I've been waiting for over a year now for Littlewoods/ shop direct to sort out my PPI claim and again I've had a letter telling me that I'm due a payment and that it will be 14 to 21 days, at the time of writing its now been 51 days and nothing.

Had my money long enough
I put in a complant and recieved several letters telling me my claim couldnt be dealt with at present time. So i contacted FCAS who put in a claim for me. I got couple more letters saying the same and then on 11th september i got 3 letters all redress letters my claim had been upheld and i have been awarded £4,695,46p . £486.61 has been taken of for tax. £1,126.91 for FCAS leaving £3,081.94. Letters stated leave 14/ 21 days for cheques to arrive. Phoned shop direct on the 5th october. Woman was very blunt and just told me 8/10 weeks for cheques to arrive. Why not put that in letters rather than 14/21 days. Its a joke theyve had my money long enough

Just tried to get an update from my claim
I have been told that it's now November at the earliest
He tried to tell me that it was August so it would be quite sometime Advised him that it was 2019
Last time I called I was told that due to the pandemic they hadn't touched the files for 3 months due to no one working from home advised that this is not the customers fault most companies had people working from home. I asked for a manager call back and was told the only option is the ombudsmen
Rating for customer Service -10
Be very careful with shop direct
Be very careful with shop direct!
I have not applied for finance with them but my credit score gone down because shop direct done a hard search on me. Also I didn’t take any finance or anything else from Shop Direct but when I check my credit score in “ClearScore” there I see that I have open account in Shop Direct with balance £739 with £750 limit...!!!
Having registered my complaint…
Having registered my complaint immediately prior to the August 2019 cut-off point and having received 3/4 acknowledgement letters and having made 3/4 telephone enquires, I have been informed (by letter dated 26 August 2020) that my complaint has been upheld and that I am due to receive compensation (within 14/21 days). I am not holding my breath, but at least this is a sign that something might be stirring.**FOOTNOTE** It is now 34 days since the day of the decision letter. No further communication received. One of the dreadful side effects of Covid-19 is how it incapacitates Shop Direct employees to such an extent that they are no longer able to put cheques in envelopes.

May 2019 I started a PPI claim.
September 2019 they said they didn’t have proof of my address when I called for update.
December 2019 I called for an update, told to ring back in 3 weeks.
Rang Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June, July and now August and kept being told 3 weeks!
Full of crap! Utterly ridiculous!
This company was brought up by the financial ombudsman service and was addressed that they had miss sold millions in PPI but still getting away with it!!
Who is regulating them? What is going on?
PPI claim outstanding for nearly a year
Sent an enquiry/claim about PPI before the deadline last August. Got a letter asking for ID documents, which I sent. Heard nothing more for months. Phoned and was asked to resend ID docs which I did. Nothing since despite several more emails asking for a response. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. Have sent yet another email giving them 7 days to reply or Ombudsman will be contacted.
DONT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY
I got a few items from Very catalogue, ran in to financial difficulties and could only pay the minimum payment. This caused the account to triple due to the disgraceful api percentage. Long story short, the interest rate went out of control and financially crippled me so I ended up with a default on the account, my once great credit score was ruined by them and I'm left with over 3 thousand pounds to pay for six hundred pounds worth of items. The company has no regard for there customers, if they run in to financial issues and I strongly advice to check the small print and steer well clear of them.
