Had a Simply Be acc for years and always paid my account balance in full and on time. Ive got an excellent credit score however they have decided to cancel my recent order without informing me and revoked my credit account. Ive also had issues in the past with billing me for items i havent ordered. Wont be using again.
Poor Customer Service.
There are too many companies involved here. I purchased some pumps from Simply Be and they arrived via J D Williams. The pumps were supposed to be white but were cream so I returned them via the online portal the next day. Royal Mail tracking showed that delivery was attempted but that the address was 'Inaccessible'. I called their customer service number and spoke to someone in Asia who could not resolve my simple query so I raised a Complaint by email including all the required information - name, address, DOB, order number etc - to get a response asking for my account number. Which account? And, why can't you find the order from the details provided?
I am still awaiting a reply and will be escalating the matter to a Formal Complaint within 48 hours.
I will not be buying from any of their various brands again and recommend others to shop elsewhere.
Its Shane would of given more but the bar to pay is so hard to put the amount in it’s awful
Since the takeover in Feb 24, the quality of clothing has declined immensely. In addition, discount structures have been changed, most recently to exclude brands like Joe browns.
N Brown Group (owner of Simply Be, Jacamo, JD Williams) returned to profit in the year ending 2 March 2024: £5.3m pre-tax profit (up from £71.1m loss the year before).
February 2025: Taken private by Falcon 24 Bidco (linked to founding family).
Half-year to 31 August 2024 (H1 2025): £0.2m pre-tax profit, improving from a £2.8m loss in the same period previous year.
Profit recovery largely driven by cost-cutting and focus on higher-margin products, despite ongoing declining revenue.
So basically I'm paying more and getting less.
It's a sad departure, I've loved simply be for many years and am an avid shopper but this kind of rampant greed cannot be allowed to continue at my expense. The decline in quality of their own brand alongside the change in discount structures means that I will no longer be using them. I work hard for my money and this no longer feels like somewhere I want to spend it.
I have shopped with simply be for years and sent many things back. Never had an issue till now. I bought a coat which is too short and too big.
I returned the coat. I then got a message to say the coat was worn /dirty! I only had the coat on a minute and the tags still on.
I emailed and was told the same thing. The coat is neither worn or dirty !! Going forward I will
Not be shopping with them anymore as have no
Money to buy a coat that fits!!
I ordered an item on 23rd March with a stated delivery time of 3–5 days, as I needed it for a wedding on 3rd April. It didn’t arrive until 4th April — completely defeating the purpose of the purchase.
I contacted customer service twice during that week and was told the item would be refunded due to non-delivery, which was processed on 2nd April. Based on that, I made other arrangements.
Now, after the item has finally turned up late (and is still sitting uncollected at a post office that was closed over Easter), Simply Be are attempting to charge me again without my permission and without even confirming if I still want the item (which I don’t).
The delivery was unacceptable, but the customer service is even worse - inconsistent information, poor communication, and now trying to take payment without authorisation.
To make matters worse, while trying to resolve this issue online, the agent sent copied and pasted information from their website and then closed the conversation before I even had a chance to respond, which felt dismissive and unhelpful.
Extremely disappointed. I will be closing my account and won’t be ordering from them again.
Opened accounts with simply be and then jacamo (same parent company).
Made an order with simply be and then the day after delivery they said my credit file had been reviewed and removed my credit limit.
Then with jacamo. Made a couple of orders and a week after they've cut my limit by half which is also happens to be the balance on my account. Made a payment and the limit decreased by that much. So clearly trying to run my account down to 0. But this all came without any notification.
Disgusting service. See less
The charges are a joke ontop of the monthly repayments
I'm ending up paying twice as much more than the original amount & feels like I'm never going to pay it off. Charges for late payment... Yes but not if your paying on time so i think this needs to change.
I have been a SimplyBe customer for 20+ years and to date have never had a problem BUT when something does go wrong with your order, you are reliant on customer service to resolve the issue: disappointingly, SimplyBe have failed on every aspect of customer service. With a lack of responsiveness to my emails and chat via their Facebook forum, after 24 days(!), I am still awaiting a resolve - and am now feeling ignored. SimplyBe, for the sake of your business going forward, get your act together!
Items arrived quickly and were decent quality inline with pricing.
However I placed two orders and paid two delivery fees of £5.99 each.
The SB warehouse shipped both orders inside one parcel with one order number and one delivery note. But they kept my second delivery fee and there was no effort made to return it to me at all.
When I decided to return all items from both orders, I could only see the items from one order on the return portal.
I used the chat service for help and it was incredibly frustrating. The agents do not acknowledge the information you provide. I had to ask multiple times if they were still there.
They misinterpreted the issue and when finally we were on the same page, the solution was for me to return the items separately using packaging that I would need to source myself because they only sent me one. I was told I’d need to write out all the details of the second order myself too because there is only one delivery note. I don’t have a printer and I don’t have extra packaging laying around the house so I’m going to have to go out and get something.
This is not “easy returns” or convenient. It’s taken up hours of time. Nobody seemed interested in apologising or taking feedback onboard. I had to question everything because nothing was explained and it was implied that it was my fault for not understanding that two orders needed to be returned separately despite being sent to me in one parcel under one order number.
As a customer, this just isn’t an enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t shop here again sadly. I don’t feel valued or respected as a customer (where did that extra delivery fee go? Feels dishonest) and it was a big hassle to return things with a customer service team who are probably fed up of having to deal with issues like this and don’t seem to care because they’re probably overloaded with complaints.
