S&L Doncaster

Been to the Doncaster S&L for brunch before and it was decent. But Saturday, it wasn’t good. We had preordered from the menu and then was told they’d not been sent through, so had to order again, then the chef got confused what we was having. To be fair he was apologetic and nice so that was ok and the food was lovely when it arrived. The bar staff were chatting to each other and left us waiting for drinks - we had to go and ask for the drinks repeatedly and was left waiting countless times. The cocktails were absolutely terrible - previously they’ve been lovely but they were horrible this time.

The quality of the meal at the Oxford…

The quality of the meal at the Oxford Slug & Lettuce did not meet expectations. Both my granddaughter and I found the food cold and underwhelming, particularly given the cost. This sentiment was echoed by other guests nearby. Regrettably, we will not be dining here again.

Nicole fancies to be a Manageress and that's why when her friends write Fake reviews they write: promote Nicole.

Every single time I go into this establishment "Slug and Lettuce" in Sale, Waterside, there’s a couple of bar women and one in particular: Nicole, she has taken a huge dislike to me for the most bizarre reason.
~~ Also Nicole also gets her friends to write fake positive reviews.

Long story short she served someone before me despite me being stood there for some considerable length of time before who she eventually served anyway.

I just mentioned in a calm low tone “excuse me I was before them” to which I got the reply in front of other people and the entire bar “well I don’t know who the fc*k is next”.

Now I work as a hospitality manager and have worked in hospitality for over 20+ years and I’ve never seen people treated with such manner.

The two female staff seem angry at the whole entire world.

~~ Nicole fancies to be a Manageress and that's why when her friends write Fake reviews they write: promote Nicole.

It's ridiculous to see so many contrived fake reviews just for one person Nicole from the entire bar staff of "Slug and Lettuce" in Waterside Sale, in Manchester.

"Slug and Lettuce" are what they are and they do what they do well,
but a smile or just simply being treated in a manner of some degree of hospitality.

This particular young lady seems to suffer with napoleons complex and all I have to do is walk in to this building and she starts stomping round slamming glasses.

She’s like a little Jack Russell that’s been stung by a bee, throw a hiss when she does not get her own way.

A little bit of training certainly would be go amiss with a couple of the women in here.
If you’re that unhappy in your job certainly another position could be taken up somewhere, where not being hospitable is such a huge part of your job.

I walk in now and she refuses to serve me, instead she turns her back on me and speaks to one of her colleagues under her breath, letting them know she’s not serving me.

These two young women are a disgrace to the profession and "Slug and Lettuce" as a whole.

So if you want to spoke rudely or ignored altogether, then "Slug and Lettuce" in Waterside Sale, in Manchester is the place to be.

An absolute disgrace these two women are.
Especially Nicole.

Incidentally all male members of staff seem very fine and jovial, smiling laughing and joking with customers.

Substandard Food

Food was barely warm, poorly presented, the burger was overcooked, the chicken was tough and small portions after waiting 30 mins before they took our order, including drinks. Then whilst we were still eating mains the lukewarm puddings were brought out. This was part of a special 3 course meal. I would certainly not recommend eating in the Plymouth S&L.

Edinburgh Omni

I arrived at Edinburgh Omni and sat at a bar stool. (it was not busy and there was no-one greeting customers at the door). I was ignored by at least 3 sulky unhelpful looking staff for ten minutes. On asking why they had this attitude and were ignoring me, I was told by a manager that I should not have "walked in and sat there". He was clearly annoyed that I had done such a thing! I walk into bars all the time and sit at bar stools, it's not that unusual! Could one of them not simply have said please sit somewhere else?
There are much friendlier, more professional staff at other nearby bars.

Newcastle
Went for a pre booked bottomless brunch.
The drinks have a ridiculous amount of ice in and obv watered down alcohol. I nust have had around 10 drinks and was only tipsy. My cousins meal was frozen.
1 star for burger and 1 star for staff who ate hard working and never stop!
Not good value for money!

Slug and Lettuce Poole Dorset.I …

Slug and Lettuce Poole Dorset.I recently visited Slug and Lettuce with my elderly parents. It was breezy outside, and they were getting cold, so we decided to sit in for a hot drink. They hadn’t yet had the chance to eat their pasties, so rather than let them go cold, we shared one quietly between the three of us.

Within minutes, your waitress swooped in to tell us we weren’t allowed to eat it there. Honestly, she deserves a medal for spotting such a “serious offence” three people sharing one pasty. I imagine it must have been the highlight of her shift.

It’s a shame the same sharp eye isn’t always turned toward the genuinely disruptive behaviour you often see from rowdy drinkers or unruly groups. But perhaps three quiet people with a single pasty are a far greater threat to the atmosphere at Slug and Lettuce.

What could have been a pleasant break with my parents instead left us feeling unwelcome and embarrassed. Sometimes it’s worth remembering that rules without common sense or compassion just end up looking silly and they leave customers like us wondering if we’ll ever return.

I sent feedback from your company group website noone responded.

Sincerely,

Dissapointed with cocktails

Went to the slug and lettuce in Swansea today for pre birthday cocktails, the first 2 cocktails were lovely and the bartender was brilliant. My daughter and I the left and went for our meal, then returned to the slug and lettuce at around 5pm today, sadly we ordered long island iced tea, which was poured by a fair haired gentleman, I watched as he poured a measure of what appeared to be from a bottle showing the name long island mix, then he put a measure of what appeared to look like lemon into the glass, a cup full of ice into each glass and topped each glass with coke? The menu clearly states , a shot of tequila, gin, spiced rum and vodka, ice and coke, we tasted the drink which appeared to taste full of lemon, quite bitter. I went back to the bar, explained that the drink, was not correct, the Barman stated he could do another one without the house bottle using measures? However, he poured a measure of a clear liquid, which could have been either Gin or vodka, then a measure of what appeared to be tequila, ice and coke, so it was still missing a spiced rum and either vodka or gin short? Not very happy! First time I've not enjoyed.

Manners cost nothing.

Went to slug and lettuce by sea life centre in Birmingham, food was nice but one of the staff members was a little rude!. The biggish blonde girl working on the Saturday night. Proper attitude on her. Only asked a question and she was rude.

Tips applied without asking

I bought drinks at the bar and, rarely for me, paid by debit card. Without being asked, tips were added without my being asked. The receipts had the price without a tip in large characters, with the tip shown in tiny characters below. I only noticed this when I checked my bank balance online. I contacted Stonegate who own S&L and they admitted no wrongdoing. Apparently asking if I needed to tap my card on the screen of the reader or the end of it was described as "asking for help with using the reader", as if I were some stupid old man with no knowledge of technology. The amount of money was small, but it is theft. Avoid these establishments and all Stonegate pubs because they condone theft.

Vile, rude bar maid.

Went in the S and L in Weymouth this afternoon (sat 16 Aug) for a drink with family. I ordered and paid for 2 pints of coke with no ice. The barmaid put about half a pint in each glass. When I asked her to top it up she point blank refused and said that is all I would get if the ice was in there! I was absolutely gobsmacked as I had basically just paid approximately £9 for 2 pints of coke and received 2 halves of coke for this price. I asked her again to top it up and she actually turned her back on me and started serving the customer next to me. Thankfully a man serving behind the bar saw what had happened and came over and topped them up for me. I have never before had this experience in any other pub; if you ask and pay for a pint of coke with no ice you get a pint of coke with no ice! Disgusting way to treat your customers.

It’s no wonder slug and lettuce st Katherine’s docks have a rating so low. We went in having had literally a couple of drinks but not drunk whatsoever. Immediately we were told too drunk to be served. This was ludicrous as we had literally had 2 drinks, were perfectly respectable and capable. One of our members doesn’t ever drink and was told they were too drunk which is comical. A severe lack of experience on the management side here.

Firstly not having an ingredient listed…

Firstly not having an ingredient listed on your menu is not just unacceptable but very dangerous. Went for lunch and discovered my dish had chillie s which I cannot eat , not listed on menu !!
Explained I could not eat it ,got offered something else ,ordered cake and coffee. Told coffee machine not working ,waited over 20 mins ,nothing arrived. Complained to the manager who was smirking which is very disgraceful.
Won’t be back ,this was a special treat for my sister in law. Very upset. Not to mention unwell after eating 1 chillie !!!
