We have 6 locations across Brighton and Hove where customers come to chill out with friends, pets or their laptops to enjoy their local speciality coffee roaster and a bite to eat. They are sending me 1KG coffee a week and charging me although I didn’t sign up for a subscription, I bought 1KG and now have had 2 more delivered . Apparently I’m tied in for 6 months. I have more coffee than I can use.
Really pleasant experience
No queue - 13:15 visit, very smooth coffee served at the right temperature (not lukewarm like the big chains).
Unique atmosphere; the café is situated directly adjacent to the roastery.
Also had BLT (grilled), great flavours and taste.
15 days since I order and I am still waiting for my coffee.
Over 15 days and I am still waiting...
Terrible customer experience. I'm not ordering from the other side of the world. I leave 60 miles from where the coffee is beingroasted. Even back in 1999 e-commerce delivery faster.

Slow Dispatch and Lack of Transparency”
I ordered coffee beans on 10 December, but it took three days to dispatch. I understood this, given the busy Christmas season. However, the Royal Mail tracking number provided didn’t work, even though it was meant to be a next-day tracked service.
On 17 December, I emailed to check on the order and was told it had been dispatched on 13 December, so I should expect it that day or the next. This didn’t make sense, as Royal Mail 24 typically means a Friday dispatch would be delivered on Saturday.
I finally received the coffee on 18 December, eight days after placing the order. To my surprise, the beans were roasted on 16 December — three days after they supposedly shipped!
This was my first time ordering from this roastery, and unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll order from them again. There are plenty of excellent roasteries out there with better service and transparency.

I have always loved Small-Batch Coffee and have had it on subscription for years.
I would say that their loyalty/point scheme sucks. The benefits are so small they are a bit laughable.

Slow Delivery and Unreliable Service
