We have 6 locations across Brighton and Hove where customers come to chill out with friends, pets or their laptops to enjoy their local speciality coffee roaster and a bite to eat. Subscription service: Great coffee, slow delivery
The coffee is great, but it’s very slow delivery, often a week or more after the subscription order is processed. This negates the convenience of a subscription service.

Great coffee, delivery not so great.
The coffee is great and I can highly recommend it. I've taken a star off for my delivery experience - I've had two deliveries go missing, which is very frustrating as I work from home and so it's hard for me to get anywhere that sells decent coffee. I appreciate that there are mail strikes, but I'd be happy to pay for a courier. Unfortunately they don't offer that option.

Excellent coffee! Always super freshly roasted. The coffee club has a really interesting and delicious selection of coffees. Good value and delivered to the door. The best coffee subscription I have tried. Highly recommended.

The coffee beans absolutely fantastic but due to keep changing staffs you will always have different taste in your regular coffee. They should think about have experienced staff rather than training them at all of their branches. That's why I only buy coffee beans from there.
Amazing taste!
No laptop policy - what?!
Small batch has been one of my favourite places. But the new management decided not to allow laptop use until 2pm. The most absurd thing I have heard. I’m not going again, there are many good coffee shops in brighton&hove. Their loss!
Wouldn't let me work on my laptop, even though it was half-empty
I didn’t want to work from home alone at the weekend so popped out with my laptop, heard Small Batch is good for that. Finally found a quiet spot in the one by Hove station and ordered my coffee, only to be told when I received it, that there is a no laptop policy at the weekends. Even though the place was half empty.
The people at the table next to me were surprised, as was I. Such a shame after we’ve all experienced more isolation than usual of late, that a place like this would introduce such a policy...and be so strict on it...I heard good things about Small Batch but this was a really disappointing experience.

Good tasting Coffee, in my opinion is fair for price
I once loved dealing with Small Batch, but no more
I once loved dealing with Small Batch, they were a nice company, selling great coffee and with a personal touch. I enjoyed visiting their cafes as well.
The last few visits to their cafes weren't the best experiences I've ever had, so I stopped doing that - it was my decision and I didn't make a big deal out of it. However, I did continue to buy their coffee (which is excellent), including via a subscription that I'd had for about 6-7 years.
Recently, they sent me someone else's order, which is easily done I accept that. The quality of a company is in how they sort out problems and, in my opinion, Small Batch made quite a meal out of a simple problem. Replies were slow, and eventually just stopped when it became mixed up with my subscription. In the end, I was never sure if I got my subscription delivery as well as the full order.
I really wanted to continue with my subscription, I like the coffee, but when emails are ignored asking if I should renew, then it's time to move on. So, I did, and I'm really happy with the new company.
I thought long and hard about writing this review, mainly as I wanted Small Batch to reply to me so that we could set things straight, but they didn't. They ignored three emails in a row, which is poor. I was still willing to have a subscription, they just needed to tell me if it was time to renew.
The coffee is still excellent, and I sincerely hope that this continues. Small Batch as a company just have to work on their customer service or people will stop buying the product. As I said, I'd already moved on from the cafe service, now I've moved on completely.
My purpose here is to prod Small Batch into a better standard of customer service so that they continue to produce excellent coffee.
The Wilbury road shop used to be great…
The Wilbury road shop used to be great but although the staff do there best it is sadly now understaffed . Early mornings are manned by one person . The poor sods are run off their feet...Clearly a decision by new owners to run on a show string budget .
It used to be a pleasure pre work now a painful experience. You have lots of people who walk in see the queue and walk out.
Come on small batch you can do a lot better !!!!!

The coffee is amazing and we use it in the bar I work in, for hot drinks or for cocktails - its best for espresso martini!
however, you should maybe check on the coffee shop in Worthing, as its letting the franchise down - quite a poor service and cleanliness
