This trip to Indonesia was a once in a lifetime for us and to celebrate my husband's birthday. From first contact until the end of the trip, customer service and professionalism could not be matched starting with the coordinators in the office to our tour guides.. Asha and Dalton are excellent tour guides and took very good care of us from day one. Their personalities, skill, and knowledge level all combined to make the trip an unforgettable one. This snorkel trip fulfilled our every expectation and we are already sorry it's over. Bob & Jen

A wonderful trip to Indonesia was made perfect by the two trip leaders- Dalton and Asha. Both were knowledgeable, helpful and so much fun to be with that the trip was the best ever. I can’t recommend Snorkel Venture highly enough.

Snorkel Venture provided an outstanding trip to Indonesia. Working with Bernita and Graham was a breeze. From landing at the destination airport to our final departure, they made sure we were taken care of. The resorts that Snorkel Venture used (Siladen and Papua Paradise) had charming and comfortable rooms, bountiful amounts of delicious food and extremely polite and professional staff and crew. We would gladly travel again through Snorkel Venture.
Marcus was the consummate guide. He was charming, witty, informative and patient. He always communicated verbally and through WhatsApp what the morning and afternoon activity schedule would be. Every day he made sure that he checked with each guest individually to see how they were getting along. He was extremely knowledgeable about the reef life that we were observing. He took copious amounts of beautiful photos of the marine life and also made sure that he got good shots of each of us while snorkeling. These photos were quickly shared with the group. Whether we were travelling by land, sea or air, Marcus took care of all of the details, down to making sure that each of us was squared away for our final departures home. Outstanding hardly characterizes the qualities that Marcus brought to his duties as a guide. If you book a trip with Snorkel Venture, you want Marcus as your guide.

This is a part land part live-aboard trip. The group was around 22 people with two tour leaders. The tour leaders handle all the logistics, letting me just show up and enjoy the trip. There are also local guides when visiting snorkel areas. Expect occasional delays when organizing transport in that part of the world, but having the tour leaders sort out any issues was very helpful.
The land part of the trip is at a comfortable resort with a nice house reef, with some organized zodiac trips farther out. There are roughly three group snorkel opportunities each day, but one can also explore the house reef any time independently. The morning snorkels were calmer and clearer, and I found it the best time to watch the abundant marine life in the mostly hard coral reef shelves. The group snorkels can initially get a bit crowded, but once the guides are familiar with the group, everyone spreads out and has a relaxed snorkel.
The live-aboard part of the trip had lots of snorkeling opportunities - 3/4 times a day, then chill and eat in between. The crew were friendly and made everything better. The parts that stay with me is just floating around the many coral reefs we stopped by, and watching the marine life in the clear waters - highlight was snorkeling while a pod of spinner dolphins went by. Great trip, good memories and can recommend.

Our first trip with Snorkel Venture was fantastic from all the information we received in advance to being escorted to our ticket counter by our guide, Marcus, at the end of the trip. He made sure each of us was doing well daily and when a problem came up he used his vast experience to handle it. He worked with the resort to make sure my husband had everything he needed to continue snorkeling after having a problem with his ear. The staff at Siladen and Papua Paradise were warm and friendly, learning all our names. It was clear they would go the extra mile to make the guest’s experience excellent. The adventure was much more fun because it was shared with a great group of people!

The house reef at our accommodation was THE BEST as was the ability to explore whenever and as long as we liked. Dalton and Duxy were great and soon sorted out our different wants and abilities, I felt very well listened to and taken care of.
The aggressor was spacious and comfortable, The crew were very caring and looked after us well.
My only issue is I feel the crew should be paid a good wage which is sorted in our trip cost. Tipping should be anonymous and extra.

I have only praise for Snorkel Venture, our guide Asha, and the magnificent Wakatobi Island Resort. From the care that Asha took of each and every one of us, to the glorious reef and wonderful food at the Resort, to the sweet, friendly and caring staff at the Resort, I could not ask for better. Oh yes, the group on the Snorkel Venture was great too!

Next trip back to Indonesia!

Great itinerary that included 2 land-based days in North Sulawesi which I really enjoyed.
My third trip with Snorkel Venture, & coincidentally with tour leader Marcus, so obviously I think they are special.
Excellent accommodation, food, service. Low guest to local snorkel guide ratio, & these guys know their way around.
Marcus's in-depth knowledge of Indonesia, in and out of the water, just adds to the experience.

Our trip to Sulawesi and Raja Ampat was perfect! Our tour leader, Marcus, was outstanding. He communicated very effectively and timely. Not too much information or not too little information. He managed 100% of the details. We hardly had to lift a finger or even commit thoughts to what we were doing. He was a wealth of information sharing details about fish, coral and culture. This was our first guided trip and we could not be happier. The entire trip was adventure and action filled. This trip was a bucket list item for us so we were hoping that Snorkel venture would deliver. They certainly did. The hotels were very appropriate and amazing. Specifically the Siladen resort and the Papua paradise Eco resort were out of this world. Each of the snorkel trips that we took were amazingly unique and beautiful. Marcus teamed us up with a local guide who helped us find things we would have never seen. Marcus and the local guys were committed to our comfort and our safety all along the way. We had tea and snacks on remote islands that I would have never found on my own. The meals at the resorts were five star. Marcus is an accomplished photographer/videographer as well. Amazing trip with an amazing company, Snorkel Venture!

What a fantastic holiday with a great group of people. Our guide Marcus Blake went above and beyond every day to make sure we were all happy. Everything was organised from flights, accomodation, transfers, boat rides, snorkel sites and much much more. The resorts at Siladen and Rajah Amput were beautiful. Sunshine, calm seas, abundant sea life and lots of laughter made the experience a dream come true.
Thankyou Marcus and Snorkel Venture

I loved everything about this holiday. Our guide Marcus excelled as a leader, ensuring our group was happy and cohesive. We were blessed by calm clear water for 2 weeks and it felt like paradise both above and below the sea. Great value for money! I’d love to travel with Snorkel Venture again

Just returned from wonderful Wakatobi. Fabulous staff, great food and lovely accommodation. The house reef and surrounding reefs were amazing - actual live corals teeming with fish and interesting critters. Asha, our guide, took great care of our little group. Eveything is taken care of from landing in Bali to departure home. I highly recommend this trip and look forward to my next trip with Snorkel Venture.

My husband and I had a wonderful snorkeling adventure. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. The group we were with were the nicest people too. I felt we made some lasting friendships. The snorkeling dives were memorable with sea snakes, turtles, rays, glowing jellyfish, an array of beautiful and unique fish, exquisite underwater landscapes and so much more. The resort offered delicious foods everyday. The chef was creative and talented. The staff spoiled us with their attention to us. Our accomodations were perfect! What a wonderful vacation!

Had a great trip to Alor and Komodo with SV. Our guides were Marcus and Ian - professional, fun, and efficient. Coral reefs in Alor are gorgeous and vibrant, including the Alami Alor resort house reef. Resort itself is very private and relaxing, with a resident marine biologist. Komodo was more about larger marine life - reef sharks, turtles, mantas, dugong. And, of course, the dragons. Although some snorkeling locations in Komodo also have colorful corals, and we did see dolphins, whales, and sunfish in Alor.
Alor is fairly remote, with just one flight a day from Kupang, so the trip involves quite a bit of domestic flying and an overnight in Kupang. SV handle all the logistics, and Marcus and Ian always made sure everything was running smoothly.

The SV experience is consistently superior and well-run. Our tour guide ensured everything ran smoothly from the domestic transfers to the selection of snorkel spots on the liveaboard in concert with the boat staff. The trip to see Whalesharks is a must do for those entranced by the big creatures of the sea!

My wife & I had an absolutely wonderful experience snorkeling at Misool with Snorkel Venture, led by Duxy.
The communications (prior to the trip) with Bernita in the home office (herself an experienced guide) were cordial, thorough, and reassuring - dealing with the complicated logistics of getting to our exotic destination. Once in Jakarta, Duxy took over as the ideal tour guide: well-organized, careful without hovering, got to know everyone personally within the first few days, always eager to share his expertise re: matters marine & photographic, great fun to be with. He shepherded us from Jakarta through the 5 hour midnight plane ride followed by the 4 hour speedboat ride to the remote island in the far east of Indonesia that would be our home for the next 12 days. He then accompanied the excellent local guides, alternating among the various boats: ours had only 6 guests with 2 guides plus the driver.
Snorkel Venture managed to put together an extremely congenial group of guests for our trip and this, along with the attitude of the entire Misool staff, made for a most relaxed and pleasant experience.
We did have some mobility issues that were readily dealt with through the efforts of Duxy, Sue (the manager at Misool) and others of the staff - such that we never missed a snorkel or a meal.
As anyone who has been to Raja Ampat (where Misool is located) knows, the reefs and marine life are second to none in the world, and we would hope to revisit that area on another of Snorkel Venture's fabulous adventures.

We went on another Snorkel Venture trip, and once again, the company and their local partner delivered a wonderful experience. We spent 10 days on a live-aboard in Cenderawasih bay in West Papua, Indonesia. Coralia is a fantastic ship, with a local flare. This is not an ordinary liveabord; this ship is a beauty built in traditional Indonesian 'Pinisi' style and offers all comforts, including a camera room. The service and food were outstanding. The crew took care of all our needs, including washing all our gear after each snorkel. After each snorkel we were welcomed back with hot drinks and often a nice warm towel. What makes this trip amazing is of course the fact that we got to snorkel for 2 days with 18 different whale sharks, big males and also some juvenile. We were very close to the sharks and had plenty of swim time with them. This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. One even came close to the boat one day. While the whale sharks were the definitively the highlight of the trip, we snorkeled many different beautiful reefs, including some atolls. The biodiversity here is amazing. We saw many endemic species, plenty of anemone fish, a 'walking shark' or Papuan e shark, huge cuttlefish, a crocodile fish, plenty of really big and old hard coral, nudibranchs, star fishes I have never seen before. Plenty of interesting things even for people that have snorkeled many reefs around the world with wonderful opportunities for underwater photography. We also had 2 night snorkels. Our guide, Alex, was amazing and took fantastic pictures of the trip. Additionally, we had 4 dive masters with us in the water at all times that were finding many interesting creatures for us. The cruise directors, Debbie and Jerry, really are professional at what they do, make the experience great for us and ensured we would get to see the most amazing things. We highly recommend this trip and Snorkel Venture particularly if you like to snorkel and free dive. These trips are much better than going with divers boats since are catered for snorkelers (from beginners to advanced) and sites are chosen accordingly. Snorkel Venture has a lot of experience and knowledge on the sites, particularly in Indonesia, and they will make sure you'll have a fantastic experience in and out of the water.
