I brought my device a year ago and from the first time I used it, it was so tight and painful I could barely sleep and it took 3-4 hours for my jaw pain to subside. I went back to my dentist for adjustments but it was still too tight and I was made to feel that I was just being difficult and he had never had a complaint before and lots of happy customers. I have tried to continue using it but my gums bleed and my tooth at the top has now completely crumbled away and I have now had to have this filled. I've got to the point where I can't use this anymore due to the pain. £2000 is a lot of money to waste and cause dental issues. I would never recommend this product and it would seem that from reading these reviews, im not alone!
Update 26/09/23 its only taken 10 months for a response, I have emailed you again today, I will await your response.

I have been using a Somnowell since 2015 and it has had a positive impact on my life. It's not uncomfortable to wear (once you get used to it) and really has improved sleep quality for both myself and my wife!
I would highly recommend it to anyone who snores and wishes to sleep better over the long term.

I have been using my Somnowell device for a few months now. I went from being in the top 5% of snorers to not snoring at all now! I've been told I stopped breathing during my sleep too and now I sleep much better. Well worth buying it. I used plastic gum shield things before and woke up during the night choking on it after it fell to the back of my throat. The Somnowell clips to your teeth so doesn't move and you can still speak and drink with it in your mouth. I traveled from the Outer Hebrides to Glasgow to see Dr MacPhail at Newton Mearns. I highly recommend him.

I have been providing Somnowell devices for almost 10 years. without doubt it is the most useful aid to a good sleep for both the patient and (especially) their partner. A solution that almost always works first time and rarely needs attention is a perfect solution for everyone.

Unfortunately not a perfect fit at the beginning - felt as if one of my teeth was being pushed out causing pain. As soon as dentist returned from his holiday he made adjustments - hopefully now will be pain free without the feeling of tooth being pushed from my jaw

I have had a Somnowell device since 2016 and must say it has been quite effective, it does not stop me snoring totally however it does help and has resulted in better sleep patterns. The cost was very expensive however we decided if it helped it would be well worth it. The problem I now have however is that after 6 years of continuous use it is getting a bit worn and has now broken for the 2nd time in as many months. Trying to get a simple repair done the first time on one of the adjusters was almost impossible and I had to really be quite forcefull with them to get them to give me the address of the laboritory so I could send the device directly for repair. This time however I am left with no alternative except to go to one of their dentists as all they keep saying is take it to a dentist so they can look at it. The dentist that originally did the fitting no longer deals with Somnowell as they have found them to difficult to deal with over the interviening years. Their after sales service is really poor which is a shame for a device that could help people so much.

Overall I would say that this device is not worth the money. It hasn’t been that effective for me, and is not that comfortable so really feels like a chore to wear it.
The dentist I saw was lovely but didn’t actually assess whether the device would work, just whether my teeth were in a good enough condition. He then did some work which incurred an additional charge and because it was a private dentist also charged for things like PPE which felt unreasonable.
When the device was ready my first thought on seeing it was that it looked like a torture device. It isn’t that comfortable and felt like it was squashing my teeth but I thought I would get used to it. I was determined to use it given the money it had cost until my husband recorded me snoring whilst wearing it. I still snore loudly whilst wearing it although the length of time and frequency of snoring episodes is reduced. Using the snoring app recommended by Somnowell my snoring is about half as bad as it is without it but there are still times where it registers as ‘epic’.
I do still wear it some nights but not all as I don’t feel that I sleep as well with it. If it hadn’t cost so much money I think I would have definitely given up on it by now as it has been a very disappointing experience and result.

Wow I am amazed at how well this device works
I use snore lab and I have recorded scores up to 201 ! Pre this device In short I am an epic snorer I have been using Somnowell for three weeks now and the best score is 9 ! ! The average mid 30’s the worst 48
I have no tooth pain or discomfort
The device is not intrusive and it is easy to sleep with in fact it is very small in your mouth compared to plastic variants
It is well made and I believe will last the test of time unlike plastic devices which work well initially but then tend to delaminate, stretch and wear out
This also has a 5 year guarantee
So if you amortise the cost over the five years it is £1 per night which is a small price to pay
I now feel I have more energy and no longer wake up to go to the bathroom during the night
Dr Brian Clarke who fitted this device is a genius and my wife and I can not thank him enough

I have had my Somnowell device for 4 Years now. And will highly recommend this unit for anyone that's tried all there is to try out there.
Weeks before my wedding, disaster struck, and I managed to damage my unit. This was when me (and my partner) realised how valuable this device is.
You don't know what you have until it's gone (or needs repairs). With my snoring back, giving my partner sleepless nights before our wedding day, and our honeymoon looming, I desperately reached out for help.
The team went beyond and above to not only understand the situation but go beyond and above to ensure that my unit gets repaired in time to save the day. And possibly my marriage.
Huge thank you to the team as Somnowell for not just creating these devices, but the aftercare too.

Absolute life changer - it certainly works! Only wished I had done it years earlier.

I was a little sceptical that this would work but I am very pleased with the outcome. It took a week or to get used to and needed a small adjustment but the results are remarkable. I do have trouble nose breathing so still mouth breath a little but my snoring and broken sleep have gone. My wife is thrilled and I feel much better in the mornings. It is rather expensive but I highly recommend.

After many years trying all the different MAD mouth guards ...I found that they tended to be bulky, made me dribble and after a while tended to get smelly even with regular cleaning. What really pushed me to go for a somnowell device was I discovered that the pressure on the top front teeth from the plastic mouth guards had moved them to the point where they now sit behind my bottom teeth when my jaw is closed!
The somnowell is really expensive!!!, but in comparison is so much easier to use and keep clean. Sizing and adjustment for me we're problematic as I seem to have a big jaw with a lot of movement, but after 8 years of constant use it still greatly helps my snoring and only the adjustment screws are slightly bent as they are at the end of the adjustment. I'm going to look at getting these replaced or a new Somnowell, I wouldn't go back to the plastic MADs !

A complete waste of money. I regret paying for this device.
I will advice anyone don’t waste your money !

In short, FANTASTIC.
I have always snored. I snored when I was a 32" waste at the age of 25 and still snored with a 36" inch waste at the age of 45. I have tried surgery on my nose, to widen the nasal passages. I have tried a CPAP machine on two separate occasions neither of which had any positive effect. I have had sleep studies. I have tried nose clips. I have used numerous different MAD devices from cheap £30 ones to £150 ones with different success rates and I have thought about investing in the Somnowell device for many years but found it hard to justify the cost as I could not guarantee success.
Well, I wish had purchased this device 10 years ago when I first saw them on the TV, Britains worst snorers, I think. Firstly the device is extremely comfortable and I now cannot tell I am wearing it. After the initial adjustment, I HAVE NOT SNORED AT ALL. My wife can't believe it, and nore can I. I am no longer waking up feeling like I have had a heavy night drinking alcohol. I don't feel like I have been starved of oxygen. I no longer wake up with a start in the middle of the night feeling like someone has had their hand over my mouth stopping me from breathing. I no longer have brain fog in the mornings and I feel I can think clearly straight away.
I had not realized my snoring was affecting me in such a negative way. I actually got up the other day, had breakfast, and then went for an hour's bike ride. I actually had energy and could be bothered.
This device has been life-changing for me, it really has. I feel like a new man with more energy, a brain that works properly, and now rarely feel the need to nap in the afternoon.
The device itself is not cheap and was £1600. I do feel this is steep as it is no longer a NEW invention or new to the market and it was advertised at £1500 which I did email Somnowll about though received no reply. So to be fair I was disappointed by the Somnowell service though really pleased with the Service of my dentist and the device itself.
I would very much recommend the device though check the price you will pay with the dentist first as this is not made clear upfront when booking.

So far so good! I first enquired about the Somniwell device after seeing an ENT specialist with regards snoring. After doing reasearch the Somniwell device appealed to me as the quality & reviews seemed to be better than other devices on the market, Although the £1500 price tag was a bit of a shock, when you take into account the health issues related to snoring & the effect it has on your sleep & that of your partner then the price is not too bad as the device should last a good few years. I decided to make the purchase even though this is not a guarenteed fix for snoring. After a couple of teething issues with regards the fit of the somniwell these with the help of the Dentist I used for fitting the somiwell these where ironed out. I am now a couple of weeks in to using my Somniwell and the outcome so far is very positive. Although for the first few nights the device felt a bit strange to wear (this can only be expected as i have never slept with a piece of metal in my mouth) it now feels normal to fit the device in my mouth every night before I go to bed. The Somniwell is easy to fit you do not need a mirror after a couple of tries you can do this without needing to look. It feels comfortable to wear as you do get used to the feel of the device & yes every time I have worn the somniwell my partner has been very happy as I have not snored whilst using it. I did need to stop using it for a couple of days as I had a broken tooth that got infected (nothing to do with the somniwell) & my snoring started again. Once my tooth was better I have now started using the device again much to my partners satisfaction as she now gets a proper night sleep without me snoring & I also feel much more rested in a morning when I wake up rather than being tired and lethargic all the time. So yes the Somniwell does work for me, It does feel strange at first, but you do get used to the feeling. The cost of the device is more expensive than others on the market, but if you do your reasearch you should come up with all the answers & the pros & cons to enable you to make an informed decision to suit your needs.

A bit uncomfortable to wear and tricky to get in and out. Quality seems good

It was in March 2015 that I purchased the Somnowell device
Trust me when I say that my wife was not impressed by the price... “HOW MUCH?!”
Well it didn’t take long for her to say that it was worth every penny as we have had 6 years free from the sound of pneumatic drills in bed!
Recently I needed to adjust the device and my only disappointment was that there are no videos online showing how to do this
But we worked it out and soon extended it
I have recommended this to several people over the years
I have read the reviews I can only agree with those that rate it as excellent

Harrassment. Despite me declining a consultation for this device, I received constant emails, calls and texts from Somnowell. After 2 days I started blocking the number, but each day a text came from a different number. In the end I had to get quite forceful via email asking them to remove me from their database.

Great experience, The whole process was efficient and painless. I'm completely satisfied with the device (as is my partner) and would recommend it to anyone with a snoring problem.

I dealt with them a while back. They were terrible to deal with.
My appliance broke after a few months. I tried many times to get it repaired. They kept telling me it broke because I had bruxism, even though I didn't. Poor customer service meant I had to keep chasing them up.
They came up with excuses and blames so I would have to pay for the repair. It broke pure and simple. Just repair it. Pure and simple. They are chancers. If anyone wants details, I can tell you more.
