I rang the store to ask advice on an upgrade to my existing ukulele. I had already spent a considerable length of time checking out the website so as well as having some options to run through I also had lots of questions! I spoke to Romeo who could not have been more patient, helpful or informative. His advice was clear and thanks to his knowledgeable guidance I selected what I am sure will be the best ukulele and gig bag for me. In addition he also was fair and flexible in accommodating a specific delivery request. All in all a lengthy yet very enjoyable call with someone whose technical expertise is matched by their excellent customer care. I was not rushed or pressurised with the focus clearly on getting the right instrument for me and not just on the sale. I was even given a top tip on where to find some great teaching videos! Were only all customer service like this. Thanks Romeo, you're a gentleman.

I would also add having listened to Romeo's videos on You Tube that in my opinion the man is a musical genius. Whatever ukueke he plays he always makes it sing. He's an absolute wizard and a sheer delight to listen to.

Working with Alex made this purchase of my Kala baritone Revelator not only easy, but very pleasurable as well. I was a little bit apprehensive buying a product that was from overseas (by the way, I live in the United States), but Alex took care of all the procedures and made it as easy as buying from my local store down the street. The product came in and what can I say it was set up beautifully and has already given hours of pure enjoyment. Thank you Alex and Southern Ukulele Store. This was my second time to deal with this company. I found them to be very responsive to my calls and emails. No question seemed to be a problem. In fact Alex went out of his way to ensure I selected the correct Uku for me. I am a very happy customer and I wish them all the best and success in the future

This is a two month post purchase. I have not touched my guitars or other ukes since my uke arrived. My anxiety was over the top waiting for this uke to arrive because of some true disappointments from other sellers on various uke purchases in the past and for that reason I swear I must have contacted Southern Ukulele everyday after I clicked the purchase button to check on my purchase. Thank you Southern Uke! You all absolutely deserve this shout out. Cheers from the big US state of Texas. Your timing, your communication, your packing and your tracking was ON POINT! Here's another 5 stars. *** You must be used to them by now. Please though make the strings you put on the Flight Fireball Baritone Mango available in the US for purchase or tell us "exactly" which one's they are. There was no info provided upon purchase or receiving package. (this may not be a usual thing to do anyway) From my research everyone seems to have a good guess but no one is for sure. If I lived in the UK I would be at your store to purchase as needed. Paying all the extra to have them shipped to the US is a bummer. My uke is the exception. Not surprised at the 99.9% 5-star reviews. You guys are tops. End of my manuscript review. LOL

Excellent experience. A gorgeous ukulele and hard shell case arrived through the post as promised. I chatted with Phil beforehand and he advised me the case wouldn't be needed as the gigbag was adequate - he's right, but I like to be safe, despite him trying to talk me out of a purchase.
The instrument is beautiful and sounds perfect for my needs, just as the sound samples online.

I have purchased four Ukuleles from SUS over the past ten years. The service is fabulous as is the setup (of the Ukuleles) and shipping and delivery. I don’t hesitate to recommend Alex, Romeo and the team. I also think everyone should own at least one Ukulele! They are life enhancing musical instruments.

All my dealings with this store were email and mail order. Staff were helpful with advice as I determined which expensive (for me) ukulele to buy. It came with 'full setup'. Although the ukulele looks well made, I have encountered several niggling problems. The store in their defence, did offer to take it back to check, but I had already disposed of the packaging. String buzz and flat notes on certain frets has been a problem. It would be fair to expect a £350 instrument to be pretty near perfect, so the manufacturer, Ohana, has to shoulder most of the blame. I have since found out that the action is way too low and is inviting problems, plus some raised frets.
From what I've learned since, even if you pay a decent sum for any brand of ukulele, it's not guaranteed to be 'just right'. This applies to any store of course.

My first Ukulele has just arrived from SUS in the UK and all is well.
My thanks to Romeo and the team for their excellent advice, service and response times to my questions. It can't get any better than this.
I have no doubt that when I decide to expand my family of Ukuleles I will be visiting SUS again.

I have purchased a Snail baritone from SUS in the past and I've just had a Flight Diana Soundwave tenor delivered. I saw both reviewed by Phil on YouTube before I purchased them. As I live in the north of England I haven't been able to visit ...yet. Really professional and helpful guidance. The ukes both came very safely packaged and by a decent courier. Both ukes are amazing. They came set up and ready to go. I would highly recommend this company.

So far I have only purchased small items (strings, picks and a SUPERB! artec pickup) but the service has been quick and efficient every time. I don't need (need? ha ha) another ukulele but if I'm ever down south I may well experience a sudden lightening of my bank account. Meanwhile cheers fellas. Dave.

It was great to just talk/chat with the guys and quite honestly it felt like talking to mates.

Very pleased with my beautiful Ukulele- it came very quickly beautifully packaged and tuned. Really have no hesitation whatsoever recommending this brilliant store and its website.

I'm not a uke player.I play guitar and mandolin.
I bought this mainly for my mandolin.Firstly this amp is rechargeable with a built in lithium battery.It has no ear phone socket,no tone controls or reverb ect.
But what it DOES have is great build quality,5hours play,and Bluetooth.I am totally blown away with the sound and volume.My mandolin is very prone to feed back.This has non,yes non.sounds just as good on my electro acoustic guitars.(ovation,Fender,taylor,vagoa,ibanez)

Helpful friendly staff, I first noticed the baritone ukulele being reviewed on YouTube and and I knew I wanted to buy one so we visited the shop and Phil gave me a demo and patiently answered all my questions which helped me decide on buying straight away.
After a week it developed a fault (manufacturers fault) which was dealt with speedily, as I lived over 140 miles away Alex arranged to have a courier pick it up from my address, great service from courier who kept me informed and collected on time. The fault was corrected and returned to me very quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to use SUS in the future and recommend them to anyone wanting a fantastic professional service. I hope to visit them again in their new store very soon

After a look on their site, I emailed to ask for guidance on choice between a few models in my price range. I got two helpful responses very quickly, with suggestions based on my preferences.

I went ahead with my purchse and received it next working day, carefully and securely packaged - with free delivery.

Now I have a lovely Concert Ukuklele and cannot more highly recommend this store and its staff. I'll certainly come back for all my Uke needs!

Southern Ukulele Store is the best place to get a ukulele in the UK. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable. They are very helpful and will answer any questions about ukuleles, even if it's not related to a sale. They have a YouTube channel with regular updates of informative videos of guides to ukuleles, ukulele brands and sound samples of their ukes. They always do a professional set-up service for free before they send the ukulele out. I've previously bought from a random online music store and received a totally un-setup ukulele from the factory with loose strings. Compared to the Rebel I just bought from the Southern Ukulele Store, the difference is night and day. The Rebel is already tuned and strings already have tension. I will only buy from the Southern Ukulele Store from now on.
