Website is absolutely horrendous to use - it constantly glitches out and the filters don’t work making it impossible to actually browse through the cars

I bought my Peugeot 3008
I bought my Peugeot 3008, 1.5 years ago came with manufacturer warranty until last October when it ran out, then I extended it. I am so glad I did as my timing chain had snapped causing damage to 44 parts in my engine. Spoticar warranty came out to inspect the damage.
They rewarded the claim full amount with the use of a 3 day hire car. Can’t fault them. Brilliant service.
Terrible customer service. Walkers Selby
Terrible customer service.. they take your money then don’t care. If you have any problems or issues then you’re on your own. Zero customer service post sale.
AVOID, wont pay out in event of claim, in my case a replacement engine!
Bought a vauxhall astra from main dealer with 1 year spoticar warranty. 7.5 months in, the engine management light came on. Took it back to dealer, it needs a replacement engine as fault is 'camshaft position sensor'. Spoticar wont cover it - rang them today but they wouldn't provide me the details directly of why not. Rang Vauxhall HQ and they have offered 50% towards cost of replacement engine, meaning id have to pay £3k plus VAT! The whole reason I bought from a main dealer was the year warranty to cover this kind of catastrophic issue. Taking legal advice now.
I Wouldn't buy via Spoticar
I bought a Peugeot Partner van from a Stellantis dealer. Being a main dealer I had a 12 month warranty. What I didn't realise was it was not from Peugeot but Spoticar.
The window was leaking water, not covered.
Stop/Start not working, needs investigating which may or may not be covered if it's the battery.
I wouldn't buy from anyone who is outsourcing the warranty in the future.
Do not DEAL with just Citroen Preston
Do not DEAL with just Citroen Preston, rude, unhelpful staff, who told me I am not capable of making my own decisions 😭 all because I needed time to think as I felt pressured, talkabout the customer always being right, great shame the car was not at another dealership with better attitude this was there reply
Response from the owner3 days ago
Hi Nathan,
Thank you for your review. It brings with it some extremely concerning points and serious accusations. I would like to address these for you. Having spoken to the team member involved who is an extremely valued member of the team and has never received a complaint of this nature before, he has explained to me that in fact you did leave unannounced and turned your phone off and refused to take our calls after claiming to go and get your bank card as your review suggests. However, we most certainly do not and have not ever pressured people into anything. If anything, my understanding is that you were the one applying pressure to give you a valuation for your car of £9,000 despite the car not being worth that to us. The Sales Executive simply asked you “If I get to where you want to be, are you looking to go ahead and purchase the vehicle?” As a Sales Executive, this is his job. We have at this stage presented you with figures, you are asking for more for your part exchange and ultimately, he is going to have to speak to his manager to ascertain if we can go to that figure. His manager is understandably going to ask, “Is that what we need to do to get his business?” and the Sales Executive is required to know this information. The reason for this is that if you had explained you weren’t ready to buy the car for any other reason, he would have simply requested that you do what you need to do and answered any outstanding questions you may have before asking about your part exchange. At this point you have the option of answering “Yes I’ll buy it, or “No because I need to think about/check insurance costs/speak to someone etc”. Nobody pressured you into anything and as a company who have a huge level of repeat customers that have bought several vehicles off us, the information within your review is simply not factual.
With regards to your comments about disabilities. We have three locations, representing five manufacturers which are all staffed by people trained to deal with Motability. Part of this training is based on handling customers with various disabilities whether it be mental or physical and as a result, we have a lot of customers with a range of disabilities who have purchased several vehicles from us and credited us with the way in which we have looked after them. We do however have a duty of care to ensure that anybody purchasing a vehicle is of sound mind and fully understands the agreement that they are entering. Your actions have caused the team members to question this and have therefore requested that you don’t proceed with the purchase. I think its fair to say that anyone taking advantage of someone with disabilities would have done quite the opposite and taken the persons money with no thought or interest as to whether it’s the right decision for them.
I note your comments about the price of the vehicle and would like to make you aware that our vehicle prices are researched on a daily basis. They are sometimes reduced and sometimes increased at various stages to ensure that our cars offer the most competitive pricing in the market place. Again, building confidence in how we look after our customers. Had you raised this query, we would have allowed you to carry out the purchase at the lower price.
Finally, I note that of the 87 reviews you have left on Google, the vast majority of them are 1 star. In addition to this, in the last month you have reviewed three totally separate car dealerships and all of them have been one star which leads me to believe that perhaps the dealerships aren’t the problem. We are a privately owned company who are trying to make an honest living in a crowded marketplace. Your review and comments are totally inaccurate, and if anything, reassure us that you are not someone that we wish to transact with. I wish you the best of luck in the search for your new car. (Although you appear to be running out of dealerships)
I leave praise when its due like Chorley Nissan First Class, Smiths Nissan Peterborough First Class, I don't need a reason to walk out and think about it, and to bring my mental health into they have no right as they are not qualified, they expected me to go a test drive in the dark at 4pm, with a car in delivery mode, with hardly anything working in the car then decide there and then , as for my car is not worth it thats why Motorpoint have offered £9300 and Kia Hendley £9000 , they was trying to get my car for a far lower price and sussed them out .
Unsafe to Drive and no RAC cover apparently
Bought a 2019 Mercedes Spoticar Checked allegedly via York Ward and Rowlatt and suffered major power loss in the first 15 minutes endangering my life and multiple times under various test conditions within the first hour. Additional faults too.
Mercedes main dealer said the car is unsafe to drive and to use the RAC to transport it.... sadly despite having the paperwork as having alleged cover the RAC said there was NO BREAKDOWN COVER for the car to get it back to the main dealer.
YWR refuse for me to reject the car due to doing their own short test.
Have msg'd the Spoticar CEO and Customer Complaints.
I've no idea what Spoticars technicians check list is that let this car get through its net.
Warranty as useful as an underwater hairdryer
Was sold the Spoticar warranty for a Peugeout with the idea all I had to do was find a Spoticar dealer near me (which there is) to assist with any issues - now told I have to go to specific dealerships to diagnose the issue, all of which are an hours drive from me, if I had known this I wouldn't taken the warranty. I was also told by Spotify Uckfield they can't 'talk' to the car even though there's Peugeout branding on their site - all very misleading and a waste of money.
Brought a Peugeot 2008 from Arbury in…
Brought a Peugeot 2008 from Arbury in Nuneaton a few months back only o find that the vehicle came with a water leak from the screen down inside the car so I gained in integral waterfall! Peugeot themselves are not interested, presumably because the 2019 vehicle is out of warranty and it turns out that not only is it very difficult to get any Peugeot dealers to look at the car if you mention SPOTiCAR WARRANTY, if you push further (as in ARBURY) you get sent the SPOTiCAR Extended Warranty document that actually tells you what is and, more importantly!, what is NOT COVERED.
Seriously, if you are considering purchasing a from a SPOTiCAR dealer that has SPOTiCAR warranty make sure they give you a copy of the SPOTiCAR Extended Warranty document to read before you purchase !!!
Excellent Warranty
Bought a car in May from Peugeot that came with a 12 month Spoticar Warranty. Two weeks ago there was a knocking noise coming from the gearbox. Took it into my local independent garage last Monday. They diagnosed a new gearbox was needed. A Spoticar agent visited the garage the same day and confirmed the diagnosis and validated the claim. A new gearbox was ordered. 8 days later I have my car back fitted with a new gearbox.
Also a few months I had an electric fault showing on the dash. Took it to Peugeot who identified the BPGA unit being the problem. Again, Spoticar paid for this under the warranty (£515 with labour).
Poor value warranty
Bought an extended warranty and due to a change in circumstances, we had to buy a larger vehicle. There is no option to transfer this expensive warranty or any pro-rate refund. Very poor value.
No complaints on the sales process
I found the sales person extremely knowledgeable and helpful, guiding me through the process quite painlessly. Having gone in to look at a particular model, and finding on a test drive it was not for me, she took trouble to match me with a car which I found was right and I’m happy with it. My only reservation now is the reviews here about the warranty provided by Spoticar which are less than appreciative.
Don’t buy from a spoticar dealer
Brought a Citroen from what I thought was a reputable dealer. Usual salesman rubbish. The Citroen is now back with the dealer waiting for Citroen to deal with a car that is probably a write off due to timing belt failure which the garage already new about before selling me the car. Spoticar don’t want to know. Shame on them. Robbing people of money and selling cars that should be scrapped. Gone back to reliable Skoda
Awful
Awful. VW Tiguan transported down to South London from Birmingham through Vauxhall. Sales guy at garage was ok but the car has had one thing after another wrong with it. 2 MOTs within 2 months before I collected, advisories on first one, not corrected and then passed second time. How can that happen? Advisories when I found the cert were brake pads and discs so I had to fork out when the car vibrated while braking. Then a tyre, and now today 2 more tyres on it's MOT. Third MOT and it's a 2019 car. I've done 4k miles if that since purchased in August 2022. Issue with windows...Still can't open passenger window from driver side. Boot lock broken. Just awful. Never again, don't use them. I will never buy a used car again. And of Stellantis call me one more time!!! Didn't want to know when I needed things fixed and now expect me to MOT and Service with them? No!
Very poor service
Very poor service. Purchased a car with Citroen 11 months ago who gave me a 2 year warranty with spoticar, 9 months in my car has an electrical fault with the fan which causes it to run after the car is turned off which has also caused the battery to fail, spoticar refuse to cover the battery on the policy even though I have an RAC report stating that the cause of the battery failing is due to the electrical fault with the fan. The battery was working perfectly before this.
If I knew Citroen used spoticar as their warranty I would not have purchased the car. The Service I have received matches the reviews on here 1 star !
I will not be using this company again and please don’t purchase their warranty go to a more professional company who will support and assist you.
Very unhelpful- wonder if the product is worth paying for
Very unhelpful calling these people i almost lost the will to live
Our car handbrake failed and we were allocated a rental
Customer service person barely spoke English and 30% of the conversation was her trying to spell my name
Very unprofessional ,lack of support and zero understanding of customer needs
We received more help from the car dealership and enterprise rentals
Very disappointing that they really don't care
Avoid at all costs!
On Tuesday 27th June 2023, I bought a (very expensive) Jeep Wrangler from Westaway Motors in Northampton, via Spoticar. As I live in West Wales, one of the key factors of the purchase was the alleged Spoticar UK-wide warranty that came with the vehicle.
By Sunday 9th July, less than 2 weeks after purchasing, the vehicle had developed 3 faults, including an engine malfunction. I rang Westaway Motors, only to be told that I needed to contact my nearest Jeep dealer in Wales myself to organise an investigation under the Spoticar warranty. I rang every Jeep dealer in Wales, only to be told that none of them honoured the Spoticar warranty. I then contacted Westaway Motors again and requested that they take back the vehicle, as the warranty was totally useless. They refused! After lengthy wrangling (pardon the pun) over the phone Westaway did eventually contact a dealer in Wales who agreed to inspect the vehicle, but stated that I might still have to pay for anything not covered by warranty. I would also have had to arrange to transport it myself. However, by this point I was sick of the whole scenario and I am now in the process of exploring trading in the Wrangler at a big loss, for a totally different make of vehicle with a more locally based dealer that has nothing to do with Spoticar.
I would give both Spoticar and Westaway Motors ZERO stars if possible. I will never use either again.
No Contact details for this company
Why do these companies make it so hard to contact them. the only number i can find is. SPOTiCAR Warranty Administration on 0344 573 8227. This is for the breakdown service and tells me to contact the dealer for any other queries. The dealer tells me to contact Spoticar, or gives me an incorrect number. The garage tells me to pay up and then claim back. That's not going to be easy if i don't know who to contact.
Useless
Got reminder for M.O.T to arrange to book in.
When contacted spoticar Citroën dealer, no availability for booking in until 2 weeks after M.O.T expired.
What's the point in sending a reminder when no one checks their own system first ?
Steer Clear, I bought a used van from spoticar…
I bought a used van from spoticar thinking the use warranty would be worth the extra dealer costs, boy was i wrong, the van had bits missing and errors on the first day, it has cost me £1000s so far in repair bills and lost time, now i have been advised it need a new DPF @£1500 - £2000 because i not driving it correctly, BTW i've had Diesels for the last 33 years. . i've done less than 5000 miles
Steer clear
Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague. My husband bought a car less than a month ago, within days the engine management light came on. Really struggled to get a garage to recognise the warranty, eventually got it into one today (we have to pay for the repair upfront) it's more complicated than expected and has to go back in 8 days time when the part is ready. We have now been informed no work will be approved until one of their inspectors can look at the part. Spoticar and the dealer have both been very unhelpful and we're left with a £10k + car that really shouldn't be driven.
