I needed to cash in some camera…

I needed to cash in some camera equipment because I was running short of building funds so I chose srs.
Brilliant customer service, fair price offered for outright purchase.
I 100% would recommend this company.
I personally travelled to Watford from Liverpool rather than trust a courier and found a genuine diamond of a store. The staff are excellent and I will definitely be using them again.

First photography camera

My little girl was looking to get into photography and purchased a camera from here. Really they couldn’t do enough! Engaging, informative, knowledgeable, friendly and most of all professional, went above and beyond in every way possible.

Fantastic shop and staff

Fantastic shop and staff. After buying an OM System lens they were unhesitating in their willingness to refund the difference following a subsequent price reduction in the seasonal sale. Very highly recommended because of their superb customer attention and assistance, and their ethical and honest behavior.

Great place to shop, excellent customer service.

Great place to shop. I bought a lens from them, a courier failed to deliver on time, but can't blame the shop as they posted it in just a couple hours frorm placing the order. They also refunded the express delivery charge, even though I didn't ask for it as I saw no fault on their side. They replied to my message on a weekend in less than 2 hours. So there's a shop with things in stock, customer support that actually exists and also cares. Not easy to find these nowadays. Excellent service.

Trouble-free buying

Have bought from SRS Micro before but not recently.

Trouble-free buying of a used lens that perhaps could be improved with the use of another courier service as Parcelforce can be difficult to track.

With my priority ‘Go-to’ camera shop closing SRS Microsystems may well get more business.

Helpful and pleasant experience

It was, to begin with, exciting to actually find a camera shop.
The staff were pleasant and very helpful and very honest when I asked to p/x old equipment.
Overall a good experience and highly recommended

Very fast delivery of Nikon Z Prime Lens ***** Stars

Second item I've bought from SRS Microsytems. This was a Nikon Nikkor Z 50mm 1.8S. The lens arrived the morning after the order went in, literally could not have been faster. Great company to deal with, extremely professional. Do your shopping here is my advice.

Do not be fooled with their high ratings

Do not be fooled with their high ratings and do not give your kit to this company to sell, they are dodgy sellers and will confuse you with their receipt. I came to the shop to collect back my kit as I've seen in the site it's still not sold after more than a month but to my surprise my Sony 16-35mm G-master lens was already sold a few days after I gave it to them, I gave it to them 22nd January 2024 and it was sold 31st January 2024. When I gave them my kit I was assured when it gets sold I will be notified and payed after a week but no one in the company even email or called me about the sale, I just knew about it when I came in the shop 2nd March 2024 more than a month after my lens got sold. The guy told me in the shop he is blaming someone who's not in for not processing my payment and notifying me which is a bit dodgy. He also told me we are low on man power so these things happen like I should have known that already, I just let it pass as I was thinking at least they actually sold the lens. I then asked if I can get the money since it's already been more than a month since my Lens got sold but he said no and I still have to wait for another week for the payment to get processed because they only process payments on Fridays. Now come payment day and the payment that came in is not the right amount, Nikki from their team raised her voice at me saying it's the right amount with the 25% commission and she sent me a new word document saying the breakdown that I just saw just now and was not even emailed to me after I gave them my kit. I clearly remember my conversation with the man who I gave my kit to he said I will get this amount "Clean" was his word and I confirmed with my wife. The amount they sent me is not even reflected on the receipt confusing me about the amount they are giving, also just checked now the lens is still in their site with a higher amount. This maybe a little amount to them but I'm a bit annoyed because I was expecting the amount promised to me to pay for my daughter's papers.

There are always two sides to every story, and we feel that this is a misrepresentation of the actual circumstances so are exercising our right to reply.

We have been offering a commission sale service for almost 40 years and the procedure has always been the same. When we book in a commission sale, it is always explained at the time that payments are made 14 days after the sale of the item on the following Friday, and that we ask that the customer contacts us to see if the item has sold. A receipt is issued which shows the selling price and the price the customer receives once our commission is deducted.

Your receipt that we gave you when you left the items with us to sell on commission, clearly states the amount due to you. You brought in a Sony camera (for us to sell at £2849 which would have meant you’d receive £2136.75) and a lens (for us to sell at £1189 which would have meant you’d receive £891.75) which gives a total price that would have been owed to you of £3028.50 which is shown on your receipt when you left us the items. You took back the camera and we sold the lens for the agreed £1189 and you were paid £891.75 for the lens which is £1189 less 25%.

To clarify another points you stated:

The lens you mention which is currently for sale on our website is not your lens and this can be confirmed if you check the item code which is different to yours.

The receipt you received today was a payment acknowledgement that is issued once we pay for the item so you wouldn’t have received this when you left your equipment with us.

Our recollection of the conversation you mention differs from yours. We certainly wouldn’t have used the word “clean” in this context.

Good old-fashioned customer service in the digital age

Had an email exchange about the repair of a camera and when that wasn’t possible about a hard to get camera battery.

All my emails were replied to speedily, and knowledgeably and offered other repair places.

I then decided to buy a difficult to find camera battery and again my question was answered promptly.

After I ordered the battery a digital order acknowledgement and then sales invoice were quickly generated.

To cap it all the item was send by 24 hour delivery, arriving so fast that I was out and had to collect it later!

Ordered a Sony 28-70mm lense for my new…

Ordered a Sony 28-70mm lense for my new A7ii and its fantastic. Great condition, practically looks new. Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I paid for Express 24 delivery but even though SRS Microsystems sent it out earlier than scheduled, it was the delivery company that sent me an sms out the blue to say my order had been delayed and rescheduled for delivery on the next working day with no detailed explanation. Other than that issue, I'm very happy with my lense and will be buying again from this company in future. Highly recommended but could do with hiring a more reliable delivery service provider. Thanks again SRS Microsystems :)

Not just Pentax but a lot of other great stuff

Followed up on a recommendation to approach SRS to see if they could sell my Pentax lens on a commission basis. An arrangement was made, very transparent, which was favourable for both parties. Lens sold very quickly. At the same time I asked for recommendations for an airline-friendly bag that could accommodate a gripped SLR (with L-plate) fitted with an 80-400 lens and carry a spare camera body and 2 professional lenses. With space for other 'stuff', was recommended a bag (Tenba Solstice) and after checking it out at the shop (great salesman too) decided it fitted my needs. After my recent trip to Southern Africa I can confirm that SRS met my needs. Also, gave some guidance for a slightly smaller bag for my partner, who was completely satisfied with her purchase. Definitely on my A-list of photographic retailers.

amazing customer service had to return a battery due to it not fitting my camera, was replaced for correct battery and got the cash back from the original purchase.

always buy my film from here as prices are the best around locally and would highly recommend buying from here. (amazing manual slr lenses on display too!£

A proper gem

Purchased a Vanguard camera bag. Very impressed with the speed of delivery and the price I paid. They were one of the few stores that had stock of the item too.

Exceptional value for money and exemplary service

I placed an order on a Sunday afternoon. It was processed early on Monday and the item dispatched; it was suggested that the package would arrive on Wednesday. In fact, it arrived on Tuesday. The packaging of the fragile item was excellent and appropriate. All of this was in addition to the lowest price around. I am one very happy customer and will certainly make SRS my go-to dealer.

Good firm to deal with …

Have purchased 2 used OM-D EM5 bodies mail order from SRS. First one went with out a hitch, the second one had an accessory missing but a couple of e-mails sorted that out fine.

Pleased with the service and the quality of the products.
