FRAUD company trading under a professional website do not use !! I am owed compensation for a return ticket which failed so we bought another at the airport !! Promised compensation to my card but instead they tried to scam £800 from my credit card using an ID as Trinidad Airlines then tried £200 using the ID Gym company. They kept asking for my bank balance ? when a simple refund can be processed via bank transfer. They took card details of 2 accounts yet still could not process a refund ?? Said with bank transfer I will get less & with debit or credit card the full amount. Just pathetic fake stories. I advised I will call police and they cut the line. SCAMMER

Star Alliance RTW is a nightmare

I see that the overall rating is bad and now i understand why!
I am currently on a business class RTW trip at a cost of € 11.000
Planning and booking was actually easy with the RTW tool. But then the problems started:
First leg NCE-IST was great with Turkish airlines. But the online checkin in the Lufthansa App which issued the ticket due to my Miles and More card, did not work. When clicking on the yellow checkin button you get hyperlinked to the TK website but checkin not possible because the PNR was unknown by their system. After many calls to the LH and the TK call centres, i was told that some of the airlines i was about to fly with, issue their own PNR in the background and he gladly gave me these for TK and some others who do the same. Checkin for TK flights IST-CMB worked then.
Now i have today experienced the same thing by trying to checkin on Air india from CMB to DEL despite the fact that their PNR was supposed to be the same than the main one
Now i am seriously afraid that this whole story continous for the remaining long trip DEL-SIN-SIN-AKL-SYD-HOU-SJO-PTY-BOG-GIG-LIS-FRA-NCE

I also contacted Star Alliance via their app to ask them for a flight change to skip BOG as a destination as i have never asked for that and discovered later there is indeed a SJO-PTY-GIG flight which is much shorter and less stressful but was never presented to me on the website.
I made the same request to Avianca, the airline which operates this flight but no answer from both. What a bad customer service.
What now??? Will there be a human being calling me on my whatsapp or email rather than me chatting with totally useless AI chatbots. Thats not artificial intelligence. Thats no intelligence at all !!!!

I haven’t actually travelled on our Star Alliance RTW trip as yet but as far as the booking process goes, the experience in making trip reservations online has been exceptionally satisfying. Also travel in the past with 2 of the airlines I am flying with (SQ and LH) has been nothing but the best.
More importantly, when I had to make contact
With Star Alliance reservations about one sector, Martin was extremely helpful in finding a solution for me.
I hope that the trip itself works out to be likewise.

I am gold of startalliance member and I planned travel from Oslo to Zurich. Due one of the benefit of starallince gold member, allowing 20 kg extra luggage so for this reason I bought ticket without luggage . When I check in with 11 kg luggage I paid 710 NOK luggage fees. I do not understand this situation with Lufthansa!!!! I tavel so many times with turkish airlines same situation and did not pay any luggage fees. Again I wouşd like ask to person who will decide choosing airline member is the start alliance correct choose!!!!

Air Canada completely failed us as a family with a child

I have rarely experienced such a cold and disrespectful attitude from an airline. We had already flown more than eight hours from Zurich to Montreal when we were denied boarding for our connecting flight to Punta Cana. The reason: we hadn’t filled out the so-called eTicket required for entry into the Dominican Republic.

What Air Canada completely ignored is that this form can be submitted online right up until immigration, as confirmed by the official Dominican government. They simply didn’t care. We were turned away with no support, no Wi-Fi, no assistance, and no attempt at a solution. I stood there with my four-year-old daughter, overwhelmed and helpless. The staff showed no empathy, no responsibility, and no willingness to assist.

For my daughter, the situation was extremely distressing. After a long intercontinental flight, we were rerouted to Toronto, forced to stay overnight, and deal with more waiting. It was exhausting for her emotionally, and for us it was a logistical and psychological nightmare. I was on the verge of a breakdown.

This ordeal cost us over 600 Swiss francs in unplanned expenses for hotel, food, and transportation. On top of that, we lost a fully paid vacation day that we will never get back.

What makes the situation even more absurd is the fact that in Toronto, no one asked us about the eTicket. No check, no mention. In Montreal, it was supposedly a reason to block our journey, in Toronto it didn’t matter at all. This shows how arbitrary and inconsistent Air Canada's procedures are.

All three flights we took with Air Canada were also a disgrace in terms of cleanliness. Dirty seats, stained tray tables, grimy windows, worn-out cabins. For a global airline, this is unacceptable and frankly disgusting.

To make matters worse, our checked luggage arrived more than a full day late, despite repeated assurances from both the gate staff and the Air Canada info desk that it would arrive on time in Punta Cana. The local baggage support at the airport was appalling – slow, disorganized, and almost impossible to reach. We were left to sort everything out ourselves without any reliable information or assistance.

This airline completely abandoned us. In a situation that called for empathy, communication, and basic support, what we experienced was indifference, incompetence, and a total lack of responsibility. Absolutely unfit for families. A risk for any traveler.

Never again Air Canada.

Turkish Airlines is gaslighting its customers, not reimbursing for 10hrs in connection delays

Turkish Airlines (case TK-13039836) stranded me overnight in Kuala Lumpur after a 10-hour delay on 18 June 2025, causing me to miss my connection to Da Nang.

Their staff promised reimbursement for hotel, food, and transport — exactly what I submitted receipts for. Instead, I’ve been caught in a circular loop for over a month:

“We reimburse hotel, food, transport.”
Me: Sends hotel, food, transport receipts.
“Sorry, we only reimburse hotel, food, transport.”

If Star Alliance holds its name to any standard, why is this behaviour tolerated from a member airline?

Turkish’s responses have been evasive, dismissive, and contradict their own promises. EC261 was eventually paid, but these out-of-pocket expenses are still being dodged.

If this is how members treat passengers, the value of Star Alliance’s name is in serious question.

Star alliance flights from Europe to US with the dog in the hold

Star alliance flights from Europe to US with a dog
Star alliance flights from Europe to USA used to be dog friendly and we’ve flown with our dog many times from SFO to Zurich and ZH to SFO. The dog was travelling in the hold.
Than in July 2024 dogs could not fly back to the USA. The excuse given was rabies.
The CDC posted new guidelines in the fall of 2024 about flying to USA from countries with rabies and rabies free countries.
All Star alliance airlines now go (wrongly) by the guidelines that are only for countries with rabies and don’t allow dogs from Europe( no rabies countries!) on most of their flights ( only a few airports).
And further more, now Star Alliance allows dogs to fly in hold to LA but not SFO. No explanation has been given to us.

The irony of that is that, as an explanation, they put on their websites link to CDC new guidelines and when you click on it, it states that dogs from non rabies countries are free to fly to any airport ! But now they do not let us fly our dog to SFO but allows to fly the dog to LA.
BUT if you pay cargo, not the hold ($500), for us $5000 for our dog, the dog flies in the same plane as you with the difference that you pay a premium and custom people both in ZH and SFO make a lot of money and take care of the paperwork....

NEVER AGAIN

NEVER AGAIN! You book months in advance and when you need to change it is $150 even if they change the time on one of your flights. You never know who to call because they all pass the buck to other airlines on the star alliance circuit. It is terrible. It takes hours of your time. Better to just book the tickets individually. I'm still not sure how I will get home.

The “Zero-Stars” Alliance

The one and only “Zero-Stars” Alliance: Not even Gold members can reliably use their miles or points for upgrades because this so-called alliance has barriers everywhere (eg no upgrade on code-share flights, etc). So while miles have to be reported in the annual reports of airlines, they are increasingly worthless to customers. Someone should start investigating a mass claim here.
Essentially, it’s not worth being loyal anymore - because the airlines aren’t loyal either to their customers. Congrats on your reliable downhill customer experience delivery, dear “Star Alliance”.

My airline. Missed the deal due to their lack of action. Another dodgy organisation.

Completely disorganised

Flew with Austrian air via Vienna to Bucharest and then returned to London Heathrow via Zurich. All our hold baggage was left in Vienna on the way out (following a. 9 hour delay due to a missed connection) and then my main bag was left in Zurich on the way back. The guys at Bucharest airport were brilliant and sorted us out so that the break wasn’t ruined, but coming back to the UK there has been no updates regarding the baggage and it is seemingly impossible to find some one to speak to. Completely disorganised. Would not fly with them again.

Incredibly unhelpful.

Incredibly unhelpful.
First they overbook my flight and push me to the day after (I get no compensation). After that, my flight is cancelled and I am forced to fly through Ethiopia without being given different options that just might suit me a bit.
I ask to look into other options over the phone and I am asked to pay a fee! After cancelling on me twice!!
Disgraceful.
This problem occurred with multiple star alliance airlines all in one night!!

AIR INDIA star alliance ???

AIR INDIA - worst member airline of star alliance
I travelled with Air India AI 145 from Goa mopa to London Gatwick on 17/04/2024. Arrived at the airport around 10:00 along with my wife and 2 kids(1,4 years) after boarding and sitting at the boarding gate they told me flight is delayed from 13:00 to 14:00 due to extra security check . Kids getting restless and many people there . Announcement made that flight has been delayed further by 15:00 and then 16:00 . After this time passengers started asking questions and they said flight a fault and cannot start. They said don’t worry we are big airline company we will get you another flight . We were okay to wait but after 6 hours waiting they said the flight is cancelled 😡 and we will let you know when it’s going to be next . Kept us uncertain not knowing what we gonna do about kids school and work .We were not even given water forget food . Half of them got some noddles . Wasn’t even offered hotel stay bear by law keeping in mind having a young 1 year old who was formula feeding . Told me to go home and they will pay taxi fare . When asked about the fare they said carline will contact us .I said okay but when is flight . I requested that my seat be kept the same so I don’t have to come early and queue .We got a text at 9pm saying flight re scheduled on 18/04/2024and not cancelled for the day. We arrived next day and I was told that my seats were given to passengers who dont even have kids which was annoying furthermore more had to seat near the toilets . The flush sound was waking my son everytime . The food served was bad it’s like previous day food(stale ), the screens were not working for a 10 hours flight , no usb port working but still
Managed to come home . Upon arrival I waited for 4 days to see my taxi reimbursement on email nothing happened . So I complained and asked for a refund . The carline has no idea about the flight cancellation because they were not updated by the ground staff so then don’t need to pay cancellation charges to anyone and refused the voucher as well as refund . Oh the hand a passenger on the same flight , 2 seats besides me also complained and got £520 refund . So I went back and escalated on what basis they got a refund and not my family . The carline refused the refund ,I asked then let me speak to someone higher authority like Rajesh Dogra COO, they never let you speak to anyone , I emailed back and forth when threaten to complain they pre dated a taxi voucher and gave it to me . I emailed for over 5 months , I asked an explanation how I was not given a refund but other person was but the carline did not even blink and eye . Also tried bullying me and accepting a peanut compensation. I refused .Appealed to nodal officer and realised they are scammers . They are care agents replying from nodal officer emails . The CEO also doesn’t care . By far my worst experience. AIR INDIA carline just don’t care when you try to explain about the bad experiences.Everyday I see complains about this company .My suggestion choose EU or Middle East airlines , they work along with EU rules and integrity. They will Cost a bit more but the experience is worthwhile not like a horror show of AIR INDIA. This my experience about air India.

The worst alliance

The worst alliance. Member benefits are not consistent across member airlines.
AC CA are the worst among the worst. So sophisticated at price discrimination.

CA: if you book in advance, you pay the full J/Y price
AC: if you fly domestically, hold your breath for its price

I was in process of booking an itinerary for a RTW ticket thru the Star Alliance website & put in Visa. My bank says payment wrnt thru but I don't have a ticket. There is no phone number to call, only a contact-us page to message them and response is slow to non existent. So they are holding my money, I have no ticket and bank says it is still sitting in 'Pending' . I have placed a dispute process but advised could take upto 45 days. Meanwhile I am not in a position to buy another ticket as credit limit reached!
Avoid at all costs.

I travelled from Dubai to Chennai
My suitcase came broken and damaged.
since I dont have the receipt, they said they would pay Rs. 1500/- in the form of a voucher.
It's unethical that they give money, and they want to give it back to AirIndia itself. And the voucher they give can be be used only during travel.
AI and SA and their regulations are not passenger friendly.

Star Alliance partner Air India

I flew Air India, a member of Star Alliance, from KTM to DEL on 17 Apr 2024. I wanted to claim airline mileage with my Star Alliance frequent flyer program which is United Airlines´ MileagePlus. I submitted flight details and boarding pass to MileagePlus but website does not recognize the flight and sent me to Air India. I called Air India and the respondent claimed they cannot do anything at their end and I should ask MileagePlus to coordinate with Air India. I asked to talk to the supervisor and I was asked to wait 2 minutes but had to hang up after no response for 5. One hour after, I received a call from same respondent asking me to wait as she called the supervisor. I asked for a callback when the supervisor is ready. I am still waiting.
06/21/2024 Claim successful. United Airlines' MileagePlus program rocks. Revising my rating from 1-star to 5-star!
