I had some experience of driving before I started with Paul, but Paul really gave me the confidence to actually get to the point of being ready for a test. He's great to be a car with, makes you feel at ease and is always ready to have a laugh and joke but is laced with information and guidance. Listen to what Paul tells you and you can't go wrong 👍

I had done driving lessons before I met my amazing driving instructor Michelle. Previously, with my old instructor, I was 44hrs into the lessons and felt that I had gotten nowhere with my confidence in driving, which would affect the way I drove and understood the car, as well as being a safe driver on the road. I was set up for failure for my first test in another town and it lowered my confidence even more, to the point that I was avoiding doing driving lessons as a whole. I felt that no matter how much I would do driving lessons, I would always fail. However, after some conversations and encouragement, I wanted to begin my lessons again, but under a different school and driver.

I contacted Steer We Go and told them about how I had terrible confidence with the car as well as terrible anxiety. I am grateful to have been paired up with Michelle, who has been a massive help in making me the driver that I am today. I knew from the first lesson that I had with Michelle, that she is the best driving instructor to be with so that I could not only pass my test but be a great driver, dealing with stressful situations. Michelle is super understanding, and caring, could tell she has the experience to help teach learner drivers who have anxiety, and a lot of patience which helped me to understand that it was okay to make a mistake, but also learn from those mistakes. She also had great communication skills, Michelle explained and demonstrated in ways that I found super useful and that made sense to me, therefore enabling me to progress and improve my driving. And lastly, one of the most important things that I find in a great teacher/instructor, is being able to be comfortable with them. Unfortunately, I was not able to be comfortable with my old instructor from another town/school, so I would be hesitant to ask for help or advice on my driving and what needed improving. Although, with Michelle, I was encouraged to ask her for help or advice, even as well as practising the same manoeuvres, junctions, and roundabouts, to a point where I felt confident in myself to do it independently.

If you are someone like me that has struggled with anxiety when it comes to driving, or anxiety in general, then Michelle IS THE ONE FOR YOU! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Steer We Go and Michelle, who has made me into a driver that is safe to be on the road and enjoys driving now. Absolutely recommend her to anyone that needs a driving instructor and I will also recommend her to people that I know that need a driving instructor!

I am beyond ecstatic after passing on my first try at my driving practical test today, and with no exaggeration, I couldn’t have done it without Rachel, who is genuinely best and most patient instructor and individual I’ve ever met. I have had a total of 23hrs of lessons, but within the first 1st (2hr) lesson I’ve had with her, she has helped me build up my confidence, knowledge, and skills in driving a manual car in the UK. For background, I have previous driving experience driving (automatic) in the US, however, the road, rules, transmission, and the side I got used to driving on was extremely different, thus I was so worried that the habits I have developed might end up hindering my learning. But all throughout the process, Rachel has been so patient in explaining and teaching me everything, so the things I thought I would find difficult (e.g. parallel parking, hill starts, manoeuvres, roundabouts, tight roads, etc.) became less and less intimidating to me until gradually, I became more confident. It also contributed that she literally has the most calm aura and is the most patient individual I have met and, not only that, she truly cares about seeing her students, such as myself, succeed which shows, and this is quite rare these days. This said, I really can’t thank her enough for helping me pass first time, and definitely would recommend her to anyone who is learning to drive or needs a refresher in driving. Thank you so much for all the help, patience and everything else. ☺️

I passed my test today with 3 minors with Rachel and honestly, I couldn’t of done it without her. Rachel explained everything to me. Extremely patient, honest. Calm and all round has a fantastic aura about her that’s just so unique and helped me relax. I was a nervous driver but each week got more and more confident. I would definitely recommend Rachel to others learning to drive! Thankyou for such an amazing experience!

I passed first time today. I cannot thank Paul enough for how kind, calm and reassuring he is. He’s a great teacher and is extremely funny too. Thank you Paul!

I highly recommend this driving school to every person out there who is willing to obtain their license. I've gained new driving strategies and techniques, driving with discipline that helps me to be a safe driver on the road in different traffic conditions.

I came to Michelle for a refresher lesson after 6 years of not driving. I was very anxious at the beginning, but after my first lesson with Michelle the driving became enjoyable. Michelle is very good teacher, and very quickly reassured me and gives me my confidence back. I highly recommend Michelle.

Rachel from steer we go has really gone above and beyond to make me feel calm and comfortable in the car. Nothing is too much trouble and her knowledge and patience is fantastic. I will miss our lessons and can't thank you enough for preparing me to do both the theory and practical driving test.

Wouldn’t recommend Steer We Go. I was given a instructor by the owner @Paul Johnson. She had quite clearly not done an intensive course before. I paid at start of December, but we didn’t start until half way through February due to it always being postponed! She was then only fitting 1 lesson a week although that’s not what I paid for. I asked for help from the owner Paul and he passed me back to her and blocked me on Facebook. I had no choice but to get my money back for the remaining hours I hadn’t done on the intensive course. I now have still not passed and I am left feeling like my money and time has been wasted. Don’t go with this company!!

I learned to drive with Paul. It took a while because of lockdown and Covid restrictions as well as personal events in my life however he was always incredibly patient and willing to work with me to make sure I felt comfortable while learning at a good pace. I passed my test first time and didn’t feel anxious at all thanks to how well Paul had prepared me. I had a brilliant experience all around and will 100% be recommending this school for years to come. Kind, patient, considerate and very laid back are just some of the amazing qualities the instructors of Steer We Go have and their lessons are 100% worth it.

I contacted Steer We Go after a bad experience with another instructor. I was so anxious about starting driving lessons but Paul was amazing from the start and made me feel at ease straight away. He taught me everything I needed to know, whilst making the lessons fun! He made me feel confident so that I was able to pass my driving test 1st time. Thank you for everything Paul, I cannot recommend you enough! I will miss our weekly driving lessons, especially the singing!!
