I purchased a Stiltz elevator for my home and for $28,000 in cash, it came with malfunctions and poor installation. The elevator has gotten stuck numerous times and have had to power off the elevator in attempts to get back in an operational mode. The installer was terrible. Even with numerous years of experience, he damaged my floor and did not connect the power outlet in the joists between the basement and first floors. I inquired about this and the company told me that the outlet was not supposed to be mounted. After sending a video, they replied back that the installer did not construct it properly. They said the installer could come back out and reinstall the outlet. I told them "no" and to send someone else to reinstall since this guy took short cuts in an effort to complete the job quickly. Why would I want him to come back out?? No trust here. He also took chunks out of my floor during install. If you have pets, beware that there is a gap all around the floor and my pet has stepped into the gap several times entering the elevator and I'm afraid his paw will get stuck and injure himself. The company had a rep call me about having the same installer come back out to install the outlet properly. His name was Mr. Kitchen. Think about your worst used car salesman pitch. OMG! This guy went on for 20 minutes trying to get me to have the same guy come out who did the install improperly. I told him "no" over and over and over. He kept saying funds were infinite (numerous times) and that would be no problem. I also told Kitchen the wall mounted button are extremely hard to keep depressed. He said, "I know." What?? Never heard back from the company. But the admin person kept emailing me to let her know if the job had been completed. What?? I have to tell corporate that the job has been completed?? They never sent another person out so the outlet just hangs in the drop ceiling. Don't be in a hurry because it takes 30 seconds for the elevator to get from one floor to the other and makes all sorts of noises. I DO NOT recommend Stiltz elevator for your home needs. There are too many others to choose from. You heard it from Trustpilot. Unable to post images.
Update June 5, 2024: Owners Response from Google: "I am sorry you feel this way. This project has been completed nearly a year. When I was made aware of the electrical issue in January I called and texted personally to address the issue. You did not return my texts or calls and proceeded to call corporate. I have a two year warranty on parts and labor and am happy to honor that in this situation and any other. You have stated you are unwilling to have myself or anyone from the company in your home. I'm not sure how I can fix something if you won't allow me to. I am a small business and very proud owner. I stand my our work and own up to any mistakes. I'm happy to come by and address the issues. I f you'd like to schedule a time you have my information and I'll leave it again just in case. Shawn. 704-995-7078."
My response June 6, 2024: This is what you DO NOT want to see as a response from an owner of a company. Not once did Shawn admit to any mistakes or wrong doing. He went tit-for-tat and can't understand why a consumer would not want him back due to damage and faulty work inside the home and for a $28,000.00 cash purchase. Yes indeed, I called corporate and advised them I DID NOT call Shawn because I did not trust his work. I advised corporate in emails that they could send someone else instead of Shawn but Mr. Kitchen with "infinite money" over and over to be able to provide a different person never came through. Finally, I had enough and decided to write reviews. There you have it. Corporate should no longer support this business due to negligence, poor construction, and leaving a potential life threatening safety hazard. My elderly parents in law have just had a Stiltz Home lift installed. The lift rises from the rarely used dining room to the likewise rarely used office upstairs. The lift is smart, discreet, and neatly installed and has had a huge and immediate positive effect on their daily lives, effectively converting their house into a 'bungalow'. My mother in law uses a small 3 wheel walking aid and that just fits into the lift, meaning she can push it into the lift with items on the tray or in the trolley bag, and arrive upstairs seconds later and just wheel it out. Both ma in law and the trolley are quite petite!
Stiltz were great to deal with, were amendable to our suggestions re precise location, the installers worked hard and with minimal mess.
There was a technical glitch the night it was installed and the response from Stiltz was excellent and rapid.
Overall, absolutely first rate.
When we need emergency service they do not come for several days. You can talk to them on the phone but that is all! Very expensive when they do you a favor by sending someone. Use a company that has more available technicians!
Excellent quality lift and service. Last night, my lift developed a fault and I was able to get straight through to Stiltz and an engineer - he drove for over two hours through the night to get to us, so that I could get up to bed. The lift was soon fixed and he even fitted around a call from my carer! No worries about it being 'out of hours'. That's what I call first-class support for the disabled. Well done Stiltz!

We had a home visit after which we were contacted by the sales team. Since then we have been bombarded with another 15 calls. I hate to think what the pressure must be like for a vulnerable elderly person being put under this constant pressure. I do not recommend this company due to their hard sell and constant phone calls.

An excellent company from the first contact to the completed project All personnel were friendly and very polite but stayed extremely professional throughout Having been in the construction industry for over 40 years I was aware the preparation work was carried out to a high standard by the best of trades people The lift itself can not be faulted both the operation and aesthetics however I did feel the free mini-hamper was both naff and unnecessary

I only have good things to say about the workmen that installed my elevator. I have contacted Stiltz directly because one of the issues is due to the design of the elevator. The power cord burned obviously shorting out the elevator. They had to install a new power cord, battery charger and battery backup. They even cut the area of the frame so it couldn’t rub the new cord. Not very safe by my standards.Because it took a few days for someone to come it was the domino effect breaking down. I asked for someone from your company come here to see for themselves. I received a response stating my issues was being turned over to a manager and they would get back to me. That was several months ago. Still waiting for a call back.
I have been astounded and gratified by the levels of service we have received from every member of the Stiltz teams we have dealt with. A superb lift with exceptional service!

Elegant lift, promptly installed by careful and tidy fitters who removed their rubbish the following day. A fair price and an envied addition to our home.

Excellent from beginning to end - and beyoud.
Everybody we dealt with at Stiltz was very helpful and efficient from the initial meeting with Nick Sale, the sales rep, thorough technical inspection, the builders, installers, plumber, electrician, and excellent follow up service and attention. My husband's life is transformed and mine is much easier. Thank you Stiliz.

From start to finish, Stiltz were professional and responsive. The survey, building and installation Teams were excellent. We had one issue with the placement of the electric breaker switch; but that should be resolved soon. Cannot praise Stiltz professionalism enough.

From the very beginning with the initial construction to the finished product. I have never seen such polite men with an equal work ethic. They cleaned as they went each day. The pets were never in harm. The finished product is awesome. Couldn’t be more pleased

Great stylist lift, had for six months without a hitch.
Installed by company staff not subcontractors.
Cannot fault the lift, buying experience, installation, service.
Good company ethos and made in UK

From start to finish the whole experience was painless with no heavy sales approach, something that had worried me previously. When the engineers came across unexpected impediments to installation involving additional steel supports they dealt with them professionally dealing with building control to ensure the highest safety standards. This involved an additional 5 days labour charges of which they only added 1 days additional labour charge. The lift has literally been a life saver as my wife has advanced chronic COPD and we love the look and safety features and ease of use. Everyone comments it looks like something out of Star Trek it's so sleek and beautifully illuminated.

In an earlier experience report I mentioned that if you get stuck between floors the lift might cause a problem, well of course it would and I did, but the lift has an internal telephone and a call resolved that problem the same day ... and since that day, NO further problems whatsoever. The lift is a fantastic piece of equipment, apart from having a knee problem for negotiating stairs, I recently fractured my shoulder and without my lift, there was no way I could have negotiated the stairs. The lift was an absolute `godsend`, I could not have lived without it. Well done Stiltz.

As we are close to or just past 80, we are future proofing our home so we don't have to move.
We just had our Trio Alta installed and can't say enough about the quality of the product, the installation and the company that installed it!
We feel that we have made a wise decision toward making our lives easier.

My experience with Stiltz home lifts
Just over a month ago, I had my Stiltz lift installed and I am so pleased with it. The workmen that came and fitted it were very professional and knew what they were doing. They were so professional I would not hesitate to recommend Stiltz lifts to anybody.

Easy to arrange lots of information,
No problems with fitting, payment taken in stages, last payment when job was completed.
Everyone was friendly from start to finish.

Very well organised and sympathetic company, we were needing a lift so partner could be discharged from hospital so it was done very quickly. Project management for a complex job was very good and the lead builder, Andy was excellent. Whilst the product is expensive, reflect on the fact that the cost was equivalent to 27 weeks in a nursing home maybe less.
