Watch out for the invoice.

The installation of the veranda went well and I am glad I had it made.
However, the payment was made very difficult and disappointing. I paid what the invoice required but as it had not mentioned VAT, that was not paid until later.
Your accounts section needs to review its paperwork which is muddling, incomprehensible and unworkable.

Terrible Service

Fitted doors on 16th Sept 2022. Arrived 2 hours late, office said problem on the motorway when the workmen arrived they said they had been sent to another job first. They crowbarred the old doors off put on new doors, when we noticed that the kitchen door handle was gold instead of black chrome and the wrong style of handle. They fitted 2 hinges in satin chrome and one in polished chrome should have been white same as door. Front door handle was scratched and also silicone on the front door looks awful. They arrived today 7 weeks later to fix the above again with wrong handles and didn't bring some parts. We owe them balance on the 2 Solidor doors but they don't seem in any hurry to fix the problem or collect their monies. The staff don't seem to care either to fix the problem any time soon. SERIOUS problems in this company. Not happy with their service at all.

Useless

Useless, rang up for a quote for four replacement glass panes, the person who answered said can we call you back in a hour as we are busy, no problem. 24 hours later no reply, so we rang again, made an appointment, they came out and said we don't usually fit replacement glass just complete windows????. OK whats the quote if did?, we will let you know in a few hours, 24 hours later, nothing. We have now gone with UNIGLAZE far superior company. You have been warned. 👎👎🤬

Incompetent and Slow

We ordered a window in January which we hoped to be in before our new bathroom was fitted in April. A Stormclad surveyor visited in February but despite requests we didn't get an installation date until April. Stormclad rang to reschedule the date two days before which we agreed, rescheduling our bathroom work. Stormclad didn't turn up. After several calls from us they promised to attend the next day. When their (sub contracted) fitter arrived he spent 10 minutes looking at the window and then said we needed a new lintel before it could be fitted. I spoke to the installation manager who promised to get back to me with a solution. That was a Friday. Next Wednesday they rang to say they could fit a new lintel but it would cost £950 in addition to the £750 they had already billed us. If we needed a new lintel why wasn't this picked up by the surveyor in Feb? We are four months down the line and no nearer having a new window. Stormclad boast on their website of their "professional surveyors" who carry out a "comprehensive survey" and promise a seamless and easy process. I have cancelled the order as I do not wish to have an incompetent company carry out further work on my house. Their employees are offhand and clueless and it appears they contract out all the actual work.

Regarding Stormclad's reply below. - Their "fail safe" is a sub contracted installer who wasn't happy he wouldn't get paid for the job. There was already a crack which any competent surveyor should have seen. I wouldn't trust them.

so sorry that you are disappointed by Stormclads service and I do understand your frustration in finding out that to carry on with work would add additional cost to the project, however as laid out in our terms and conditions all work is subject to survey and on this occasion unfortunately it looks like human error was missed, but we do have a fail safe for our customers in the shape of our installers, it would have been easy for then to simply pushed ahead and fitted your window without a lintel but in 6-12 month time the side of your house may have cracked and that's not what we are about, we have absorbed the cost of this window in order to make sure you don't get problems further down the line
rest assured as a business we will learn from this and add further checks to our process to try and ensure we don't get this problem again
as usual and unfortunately for you this is all after the event so again i must apologies and wish you all the best

I just had all the windows in the house…

I just had all the windows in the house replaced and wasn’t looking forward to the experience. However, I was lucky enough to get a fantastic team (Jonno & Ben) who worked so hard and quickly in pretty dire weather at times. One neighbour commented how well they worked and another noted how careful they were moving the units between his car and their van as our drive is tight! They cleaned up each day after the job and were always polite. I am really happy with the finished result. I have to mention the gentleman that gave me the quote initially (Dennis), who was also a pleasure to speak to and he gave the price as it is, none of that nonsense calling the manager to get a discount etc. The price, quality of windows and quality of workmanship by the installers was brilliant and I would definitely recommend this company and use them again in the future. Another delighted customer

Stormclad have just completed the build of my new conservatory and its stunning! Notwithstanding the delays in the process caused by the pandemic, all aspects of the service provided by their team were first class and the results a testimony to their hard work. I would heartily recommend Stormclad to anyone considering building a conservatory.

It’s been a long road

It’s been a long road to reach completion and this company does hide behind covid - even though it’s been long established. We started our application in June 21 and was told an 8 week lead time from the date the surveyor attended, they attended end of June and that lead time changed to 12 weeks due to parts taking long to arrive - which was absolutely fine. So we had in mind end of September 21 it would be all completed. But September arrived with ZERO contact from Stormclad to say what was happening, to apologise for the delay and explain materials had taken far longer than they anticipated but rest assured we will be with you soon. After several phone calls chasing for an update and an online query we eventually had a start date of mid October, the builder who did the foundations was good and cracked on with the job. They did damage our block paving (it was collapsing on the edge) but said he would fix on his last day but he didn’t. We then went weeks again before hearing from Stormclad I chased in December asking when the next stage would start and work was completed Christmas week. The two men who fitted the conservatory were absolutely fantastic and we couldn’t sing their praises enough they’re a credit to you! The plaster who arrived shortly after however, was very grumpy and complained he should’ve broken up as he had his own to sort but due to the backlog of work he had to come to ours. To top it off he left cigarette ends outside, oh and the work he did wasn’t great either as it wasn’t straight or finished well so he had to come back the first week of Jan to fix that.
He also screeded the floor and that was poorly executed as it was supposed to be level with our kitchen and it wasn’t.
We raised this concern with Stormclad they re-attended to look at the floor and the guy wished us luck and we’ve not heard a thing since. So £400 at our own cost the floor has been rectified by another company.
It’s a nice finished product which is why I give the 3 stars but that’s being generous, I also would be very reluctant to recommend them.

Great fitting but quality control issues with glass!

UPDATE: Eventually we managed to get the window glass, hinges, and handles satisfactorily replaced. It did take three attempts, so make sure you double check all of the window glass at the time of fitting for marks.

The replacement of all windows and doors by JonO and Ben was excellent. Great attention to detail, and a really friendly bunch. Great pre-sales by Dennis. The only disappointments were delays booking the job due to someone leaving the company, and a long snagging list due to a lot of poor glass quality control issues (8 units!), white hinges on a grey door, and a handle issue. Will update the review when Stormclad resolve the snagging list.

StormClad did show up on the 2nd day albeit 6pm and the work was carried out quickly.

No issues at all with the quality of the products, the installers were polite.

All I would say is that StormClad could maybe improve their customer communications with customers with regards to delivery & install dates/times.

We had a new Porch and front door

We had a new Porch and front door, new back door and bi fold patio doors (all in aluminium frames) and an UPVC window fitted in the past month. The service from Stormclad has been excellent from the initial discussions with Paul from the sales team to the survey with Simon and then the installation by Chris. Chris in particular worked extremely hard and effectively and did a superb job to get the installation completed in the targeted timeframe. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Stormclad team.

Jonno has just finished installing our new porch and front door. Worked all Saturday in a gale and most of Sunday suffering from a heavy cold. December is not good weather for this kind of work! Very pleased with final result.

Good old fashioned customer service at its best

The two Stormclad installers arrived bright and early and began work immediately. These gentlemen were a real credit to Stormclad. From start to finish they displayed polite, friendly professionalism: nothing was too much trouble. The new conservatory roof looks fabulous and the price I paid favourable compared to other quotes. Some were as much as £2000 more for the same job! Outstanding service from a well organised company. Thank you Stormclad.

Conservatory build

We have recently had a conservatory built by Stormclad (approx. 4m x 5m). The individuals involved in the whole process were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They explained what was going to happen with each stage of the build. In particular, Paul (sales), Gary (surveyor), Daz (builder), Chris (glass/roof fitter - hardworking bloke), Amy (customer services) and John (operations) were all brilliant.

We are really pleased with how the work has turned out and have no regrets picking Stormclad over the other quotes we received.

I have recommended Stormclad to friends and colleagues.

The only minor point we had, which we don't believe warrants reducing the star rating, is that all of the tradesman smoke. The individuals that don't vape, would leave their cigarette butts on the ground. We had to clean these up before we let the dog and kids out.

My dad two doors…

My dad has two doors from Stormclad fantastic product and installation. I would fully recommend them to anyone. Good communion and turn up to do the job spot on date and time - when finished can’t tell they have been apart from a brand new door in Dads case. 😀

Fantastic windows and doors and…

Fantastic windows and doors and fantastic customer service. This was the second time we have used Stormclad, the first time was very many years ago and they were excellent then too. Unfortunately we had a few problems along the way this time. Nick, Simon Jono, Ben and the admin staff were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful and all our issues were sorted out efficiently and without any trouble at all. For that we are very grateful. We are very happy we chose Stormclad and will use them again.
