Faulty products; Pricey repairs; Horrible customer service
A "STERLING600E Electric Cooker" has broken 3 times since purchase in January 2024. Each time is faulty components blowing the fuse.
Also had issues with poor quality knobs losing their dials, then the manufacturer taking over a month to figure out which part was required to replace it.
Repairs averaged around 1 week from call, leaving us repeatedly without an essential appliance.
Last interaction, customer care were unhelpful, callous and blunt. They took pleasure in citing the technicalities of the T&Cs and warranty, couldn't care less about the actual issue or the impact it caused.
Outstanding customer service
Outstanding customer service!
Jason was really attentive and even having to receive visit of the engineer he helped me through the phone to have part of my problem solved. Really good service and deserves bright 5 starts!

Beware the loud fan,
We bought a Stoves Richmond 90 induction cooker to replace exactly the same model which we loved and had had for 12 years but failed on Xmas day.
But this one is very different. It has a fan which goes on after a few minutes of heating the ovens on the left and is very loud and intrusive, and goes on for a long, long, long time. Longest record is 1 hour 50 minutes.
Stoves said this is not a fault. The fan is meant to run for up to an hour but they did send an engineer to modify the cooker so that the ‘fan turns off when the temperature goes down to 70 degrees rather than the default temp of 40 degrees’. It has helped as does leaving the oven doors open. But there is still around 30 minutes of ‘hoover volume noise’ while we eat our supper.
The doors don’t fit as nicely and sound a bit cheap as they grind open and close as do the oven shelves.
I am not convinced the large oven temperature is accurate. Certainly it bears no relationship to the dial on the front of the oven and food takes longer to cook.
The air fryer is interesting. It did cook very fast (temp said 230) but you have to like washing up as it spreads the grease globules all round the oven.
It seems the cookers used to be made in Liverpool and are now made in the far east which might explain why it’s not as satisfactory. Apparently all the brands are similar and reading reviews of all the brands there is always a complaint of fan noise except maybe Rangemaster which is £1000 more and is still made in
Leamington Spa but has a long waiting list.
My question is, if there is a ‘fix’ to reduce the time that the fans run, why are they still manufacturing the long fan model? It must be costing a lot to send out engineers and for people like me to write negative reviews.
Just do your homework before you buy and Stoves and all the related companies please fix this ‘it’s not a fault, it’s meant to be like this’ problem.
On the plus side, I love the hob which is exactly the same.
Great service from start to finish
From my initial conversation with Susan, who helped me decide on the level of help I needed and booked in a repair very quickly, the text updates through to my engineer’s visit and swift repair, I was really pleased with the service- thanks so much.
Good customer service

No parts for brand new cookers?
Lovely looking cookers that don't work. Your cooker could be brand new and just installed but you'll hear the same thing "We don't have the parts". Top oven element went on first day of use. 1 star is due to getting money back through D&G insurance, but now the ordeal of another cooker, another installation fee and of-course, another insurance cost, which to be honest was like paying for a big inconvenience. Lovely looking cookers, just don't work and no parts...they say. Even the repair guy said they are not made to last. Seems not even for 1 day. From day 1 no parts. What's the point of selling flash looking expensive cookers with such poor elements they don't work from day 1 and you can't even replace an element? Really bad! Insurance scam or something? Hoping people don't pay insurance and just buy another cooker? Just really really bad. Unfunny joke. Sad as look great, but pointless if they don't work. Complete waste of time. To be blunt..utter shit! If you want a cooker that cooks things and works, go for another make! Rip off merchants here with no aftercare...or care at all.
Appalling Aftersales Service
Rather than pay several hundred pounds for an engineer to come out and fit a part, I've tried to buy the part from Stoves' third party spares department (who have been very helpful) However, they are awaiting advice from Stoves as to which part I need and Stoves have no interest in resolving it. Appalling response from Customer Service at Stoves when trying to get an answer and just told the Spares team will just have to wait for an answer
Stoves cooke, poor quality finishing.
I have had my Stoves cooker 4 years now. Firstly all the writing came off the knobs, I no longer know what setting my oven is on, now the doors are going rusty. I am very disappointed with the quality of the finishing.
Great customer service
I contacted regarding a problem with a cooker. I spoke with Andy Salisbury who was extremely helpful, friendly and patient. I can't ask for more than that. He has arranged for an engineer to call. Thanks very much
Not a great cooker!!
My mum has always had Belling cookers, but the duel fuel options no longer come with the cooker glass top to lower over the gas burners when not in use - so we chose a Stoves Richmond cooker.
The first one we received, the door hinge broke on the first time of opening, and then we had to wait a couple of weeks for it to come back into stock at Currys - so in total we had 6 weeks with no cooker.
The cooker we have now, has issues:
It was fitted with the wrong fan
The gas burner at the back doesn't stay on unless you hold the ignition switch in for multiple clicks and at least 15 seconds...
And the oven is not simple to use (too many options) - we now know some of the issue was the fan being wrong.
Apparently, Stoves are aware of these and other issues, but as it's made in China (which we didn't know) it's more cost effective to have engineers on hand to go to customer homes to fix them than it is to get them made elsewhere - not great in my opinion.
For a cooker which costs over £900 - you'd expect it to work WITHOUT issues
The glass front of the grill can’t be…
The glass front of the grill can’t be supplied because the cooker has been discontinued. Can’t use the hob rings because an error code has appeared. Still under warranty but not for labour. Check the small print before you buy. Not happy at all
I was really looking forward to…
I was really looking forward to receiving my new cooker. We ordered it with a pledge of a delivery in 5 days. And it took 6 weeks. It then arrived a few days before Christmas. Not the ideal time.
The fan is SO loud, noisy and disruptive that it’s made this cooker very very disappointing. We have an open plan kitchen and the whole room is permeated with the sound of the fan. Not only that!!!!! I can feel the fan 6 feet away sitting at my dining table
We contacted the company straight away for a refund but they refused politely.
Other issues. When igniting the gas hobs you have to hold it down on ignition mode for like 10 seconds or it doesn’t light. The big gas ring just goes out in the middle of cooking regularly. Smaller pots don’t sit flush on any of the 4 cast iron rings available so they wobble when stirring so i have to hold pot.
And did i mention the noise of the fan. Oh I did. It is making cooking an unpleasant nightly experience
Jason was so helpful kind and considerate
Jason was so helpful he talked me through what I seemed to think was wrong with my cooker. I didn’t need an engineer he saved the day. Thank you Jason especially it being near Christmas wonderland kind customer care.
Thank you Helen Johnson

Customer service at its best. Lovely helpful lady who arranged an engineer for a repair to my Stoves electric oven in minutes.
Bought a Stoves Range Cooker 90cm in…
Bought a Stoves Range Cooker 90cm in September. First thing the fan noise too loud and then it ran on too long (up to 1 hour). I allowed them to change the fan and sensor/thermostat. The fan still ran on longer than you’d expect but the noise was much better. However I thought this then led to the next issue, water dropping out of the compartment when, or after cooking. The engineer came out again, the water was in fact condensation due to a gap between the door seal and the compartment - turned out on both oven doors the screws were not done up, sadly one didn’t have any thread - so I rejected the cooker. The other issue is, although not a fault, just bad design is if you run a pan over the surface located induction hob, it will turn in a ring (obviously without the pan in it doesn’t actually power up). We used our new Rangemaster last night, considerably more expensive but obviously worth spending the money, so quiet and so good! AO throughout were excellent. I would not recommend Stoves, cheap product, poor build quality.
AVOID this company
what can we say..
Awful company, awful product, awful service possibly the most rude customer service i have ever had the hassle of dealing with
