Excellent Service from initial enquiry through to purchase and handover. James at Sturgess Anstey is very customer aware and supportive through exploring options to find your ideal car. Highly recommended to visit James a great experience overall.

Buyer beware. They sold a used Peugeot 2008 to my partner, didn’t inform her of the known issues around wet belts. Didn’t replace the wet belt as standard because it wasn’t due in its service timeframe. Replacing a wet belt is not a cheap job. If she had known that she would need to replace the wet belt she wouldn’t have purchased the vehicle. The wet belt was defective and failed far before the required change date. Warranty won’t pay out as it wasn’t serviced in time. Even if it was the wet belt would have still failed or would have needed replacing. Which should have been highlighted at sale. They quoted half the price of the car to repair. So all round you are better off with the main stream dealerships who look after the customers and the cars. If you need to buy a car from here, take a mechanic or ensure the car you buy isn’t due a wet belt or cam belt anytime soon. Sturgess have done little to rectify the situation. Haven’t even replied to our complaint.
The car you sold was essentially faulty. You took advantage of a pregnant woman to move the stock. Your repair cost was half the amount of the car. Complete scam artists!

`***AVOID AT ALL COST*** PAID ME TO DELETE PREVIOUS REVIEW.
If I could give Sturgess Hyundai Anstey zero stars, I would. This dealership is a prime example of incompetence, dishonesty and complete disregard for customer safety. Avoid them at all cost.
Here's my horrifying experience:
They sold me a 2019 Hyundai i30 with an outstanding safety recall (a direct violation of DVSA regulations). The recall posed a risk to braking, and they failed to inform me of this at the time of sale, despite being fully aware of the recall themselves (which has been admitted in emails from their Customer Service Relationship manager). Selling a potentially dangerous vehicle is completely unacceptable and illegal under UK Law.
I was sold an "extended manufacturer's warranty" which turned out to be a worthless third-party policy which they will never turn to, as they can't hike up the price of parts by £500-600 a piece if they claim under warranty. This was a calculated deception, taking advantage of me as a young woman who they assumed knew very little about cars. This lack of transparency is disgusting and unforgivable.
Since buying the car, I've had to return it repeatedly for major issues, including:
- A faulty battery (replaced twice - first time they claimed it was the wrong battery but in, which continued to cause the car to die and not start...experienced Hyundai engineers, eh??)
- Incorrect repairs to the clutch by said so-called engineers, resulting in more breakdowns and safety risks.
- A total failure to diagnose and resolve recurring issues, such as a DPF light (which only became an issue after the last visit at their garage).
- Engine management light
When I reported the clutch issues initially, I was insulted by accusations that my driving style was causing the problems - this is on an automatic vehicle with no clutch pedal. Their attempts to shift the blame onto me, rather than accepting responsibility for their poor-quality repairs were completely baseless and carried on throughout an entire almost 3 month ordeal, whilst they continued to feed me excuse after excuse after excuse.
Their service manager Ajay is rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Every interaction with him left me feeling even more frustrated and unheard, especially when he constantly spoke over me. Their entire team is understaffed and undertrained, but instead of fixing these internal issues, they make them the customers problem.
Even after admitting to incorrect repairs that endangered my safety, Sturgess Hyundai refused to take any real responsibility, and somehow felt that a £250 "good will gesture" made up for the countless journeys and days off work I had to take due to their lack of care.
This dealership has caused me nothing but stress, financial loss and worry of breaking down everytime I get behind the wheel. The only thing they excel at is taking your money and washing their hands of all responsibility once the sale is complete (this is clear from multiple other reviews also).
Do NOT trust this dealership with your safety or your money.
And if you're looking for a service plan....spare yourself the pain and go somewhere else! Mine was set up by Cliff, and had so many errors that I ended up almost having to be charged an additional £220 to carry out my first service, as the service history had been typed incorrectly by Cliff (despite my countless corrections). The solution? "Sorry, this staff member is new and we are short staffed and he hasn't had much training" - Another classic example of their internal failures becoming the issue of the customer.
Sturgess Hyundai, shame on you. Your business practises are a disgrace and your total disregard for customer safety is disgusting. I have definitely learned from my mistake and will always warn people against this dealership to avoid having the same issues I have had. Please do not bother with the typical copy paste response of how you are a family run business and "care so much" about your customers, and instead put that time towards resolving your internal staffing issues!

Just purchased a nearly new car from Sturgess, Anstey branch. I live 300 miles from this branch, but they had the model and specification I was looking for, at a good price.
From the initial video, kindly sent to me by Richard Brown, to the negotiations and handover with Ben Love yesterday, I have nothing but praise for the staff in this branch.
I am delighted with my purchase, and the deal I got. From my own personal experience, they made the car purchase experience painless, honest, and smooth. I can heartily recommend Sturgess Anstey. THANK YOU!

I made an appointment online to test drive the new BYD Seal today.
I’d seen the car last Sunday at the Sturgess dealership on Aylestone Road and was really impressed. I’m looking to order a new car this quarter and it was on my shortlist.
The BYD website confirmed the test drive location was Aylestone Road.
Albeit the email confirmation had the address of Sturgess Anstey on. Who I rang twice to try (yesterday /today) and confirm the location, but the call wasn’t answered.
After the email I received a SMS confirming my test drive booking.
I drove to Sturgess Aylestone Road today who informed me that the test drive location was Anstey. The receptionist confirmed which car I was test driving and promised to ring Anstey to say I would be running late.
Arrived at Sturgess Anstey just after midday to be told that they don’t currently have a Seal to test drive. But should be getting one in this week.
Was slightly annoyed that I’d not only wasted my time but in addition that no one could be bothered to ring me. As the salesman at Anstey did confirm that they had my phone number.
I now feel very uneasy about the brand and dealership for what would be a very significant expenditure.
I’m test driving a Polestar tomorrow and so far there customer service has been second to none.
Took my Hyundai to Sturgess Leicester as I had a engine management light on. I already knew what the problem was, as I had the error code. which was a sensor. After they checked the car they informed me I needed a new clutch (it was in the red category). Which I thought was odd because the clutch was absolutely fine when I left it. I told them not to repair the clutch. After the sensor was change and I picked the car up. I notice the clutch felt completely different from when I left it. My partner drove it as soon as I got it back and she even notice a difference with the clutch. So I decide to check if the clutch was slipping, which it didn't, it seemed fine. I decided to take it to another garage to get a second opinion. which confirmed my suspicions, they mentioned that the clutch didn't need immediate replacement. it still had a fair bit on it.

Booked to test drive BYD Seal Excellence, confirmed on phone and in email that it would be the excellence, not the design.
Drive 90 mins to test drive the excellence… you guessed it, they only have a design… when we said we’d explicitly said it and had it confirmed in email and on phone call the answer was “we don’t have one”
Total waste of time
Thanks BYD!
Buying my first EV (Hyundai Kona) has not been a pleasant experience. Most of the time was taken up with long form filling and offers of lots of expensive add-ons. I only had a short test drive to familiarise myself with a very complex car - and the handbook was not at all user friendly. As soon as I signed the deal, support disappeared. I had to keep pushing for promised DiamondBrite paint protector (the dealer had promised to come and pick my car up and didn't). I had no written or verbal advice about linking my car to the home charger, and phone calls for help resulted in 'we'll ring you back' and of course they didn't. The home charger deal was good, but it took the installer 3 models and a month to fit a working model. Come on Hyundai Sturgess Leicester - surely you can do better!

Firstly - After purchasing a new Kona from Sturgess Leicester when picking it up the Salesman who has now left the company had very little time for me to show me and explain the various control configuration leaving me fumbling on my drive home.
Secondly - I had various issues with the apps within the car and was told to bring the car in. When returning there were no answers to my queries but had had a 1000 mile service which I had no idea was required.
Thirdly - After having a slight accident I called Sturgess and asked for a quote for repairs and was told to pop over to them and speak to ( ..... or .....) and they will sort it out. When arriving today 2nd October and spoke to one of the persons suggested, I was told they do not do body repairs.
You can therefore see why I have given only one star. I was going to write to the Dealer Principle but felt it was pointless but would be more than happy to to talk in person to him and explain each problem in more detail.
Update to your reply: Maybe as I suggested, if you had called me you would have found out the full extent of ALL the problems I have had and not put the onus on me in your reply.

Thanks again Tariq and Sturgess for a very pleasant, easy, swift, and hassle-free experience. This is the 4th car I have had from Sturgess and have received good service with every model and help from all the staff. I'll no doubt see you again when I come to make my next purchase, and I will be recommending you to friends and family.

Definitely will buy future cars from here.

Having travelled from North Wales to Leicester after speaking to Tariq on the telephone, I purchased a beautiful i20. I cannot fault Tariq at all. He explained everything to me while not pressuring me into making a purchase. I would definitely recommend Tariq at Sturgess, Leicester.

**AVOID** Not only did they sell a car I had reserved, they have yet to refund the reservation. Happy to take money, not so much when paying it back! Awful communication (as in NONE!). Chased the refund, not even acknowledged!

Just purchased a used approved car from the sales team. Laurence Ross was an amazing salesman, very helpful and answered every question I had regarding the car....and their were many. Found the car online so was a bit dubious to start with regarding the company.
Laurence soon put my mind at rest and the car is immaculate. I love it! 6months warranty and road side assistance thrown in too. Thank you.....

Very good level of service.
Just had a first service (10k) with Hyundai Anstey for my i20NLine, and am pleased with the level of service I received. Check in/out was efficient. Had a query re continued breakdown cover and Tracy called back (how nice is that!).
Good start to what I hope is a long relationship.
