Good luck if you're dealing with Hein Beukes! You'll need it.
Bought a car with Sturgess in November and was told by Hein that the tax was covered because they lost the V5 so had to submit for a new one. When they did this, they had to cover the tax. He made no mention on the day about a receipt in the file.
One month later and we get a call asking us to pay £155 for the tax we owed. Obviously this was the first time we knew about it so I made a complaint.
Hein called me defending his actions and insinuating that I was being unreasonable because they had put the receipt in the file and I should have known/expected this random call a month later asking for money.
His attitude stinks of 'I'm better than the customer' and the whole experience with Sturgess has left a sour tatse in our mouths. It was there fault they lost the v5 which didn't allow us to pay for the tax our way.
It would have been great to pay the tax our way on the day of collecting the car rather than being forced to pay a month later in full.
Good luck with this incompetence if you're dealing with Hein.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
THEY HAVE FOBBED US OFF REPEATEDLY.
2 YEARS we have had an issue with our RR and they have done nothing to rectify.
The customer care manager has used bullying tactics to put us off making complaints to the Motor ombudsman. She is not legally allowed to issue legal advice.
They tried to buy back our car at a much lower price - even though we just want our car fixed.
She told us that they use the HMRC mileage calculator at 45p per mile. This is not standard practice in the motor industry.
HMRC Mileage calculator is not for working out the value of a car.
Their most recent communication suggested we should try another dealership.
They are not a family orientated business and are only concerned with lining their pockets.

Hilarious! When she is the one who we have dealt with!!!!

Traveled 150 miles each way to view 2 cars that were described as in excellent condition at their Alfa Romeo Leicester delership, I specifically asked before trevelling if they had had any noticeable or known accident damage to which the reply was no, I wasn't expecting any as they were both less than 2 years old.
When I arrived both cars had differing levels of poorly repaired damage, one was so obvious it was embarrassing. The original salesman didn't want to know us and disappeared after bringing the car round to view but another did help and apologized for the wasted trip, he was a nice chap. All in it wasted a whole day when i could have looked at better quality cars.

Customer service at Sturgess Jaguar has gone seriously downhill. Sent 2 emails 1 week apart via the website both acknowledged but that's where it ended. Tried to call I only got the answerphone so i left a message for the 3 time and still no response. I do not want to email someone else I just want to speak with the Service Manager.
Update: Kayleigh from the Customer support department, has sorted out the issues. Thank you for all your help.
From initial enquiry by telephone, to completion of sale, Olivia at the Anstey branch was excellent.
Booked a test drive on a "coming soon" Sportage. Olivia had the car valeted and ready, next day.
No pressure, took the car out for a good drive, other than a few minor issues, car looked and drove well. On return to the branch,Olivia gave me a fair price for my old 21 year old car, and the deal was done. Collected car the next day, minor issues had been sorted. I read the bad reviews before dealing with this branch and Sturgess as a company. Decided to make my own mind up. Very pleased with the car to date and cannot fault the service I received.
So i’v read the reviews on this site, and have to say my experience was totally positive.
I’m a Motability customer, and my recent purchase was my 6th Motability car. We went to Toyota around the corner and the service was just like all those 1 star reviews on this site. Moving on rapidly, thinking I don’t spend my money on c**p service, Hyundi were the next stop. We were planning to isolate 3 dealers and find the best offer available, well after this stop we looked no further.
Reg, their Motability rep, was 1st class and a complete credit to Sturgess. I used to visit the site, when it was Fiat, and they haven’t changed the layout, which we liked. He ran through the changes that had occurred since our last Motability car and what we wanted. He then pointed to a Ionoq Hybrid, and said well if you like that one you can have it next week. A test drive was sorted and confirmed that it was exactly what we were looking for. Rag then apologised noting that the car was actually sold but we could have one next week as one was arriving on site. He also had to apologise for the £80 we had to pay when he thought it would be fFOC.
One week later we collected out new top of the range Ioniq and are off on Holiday at the end of this week, in our new car.
In all my years as a Motability customer, I have never had service and customer care quite like it. Normally these cars take 3 months to source. But I jest yee not, 2 weeks and I’m driving a brand new top of the range Hyundai Ioniq.
Quality motoring from a quality dealer.
Experienced and knowledgeable met our needs 100%

I accompanied my friend Debby, today to purchase a car and I was very impressed with the service she received.
Kiril, the salesperson was extremely friendly and also very knowledgable. Everything went very smoothly and efficiently. He is a very helpful person, and it was a pleasure to meet him.

Visited the Anstey branch a few weeks ago. No prices on any of the vehicles and not approached on the forecourt. When we went inside, we were pointed in the direction of Ben. When my mum asked why there were no prices on any of the cars, he replied ‘well I’ve not had chance because I keep getting interrupted by people coming in’. Strange as we were the only ones there at that time. Massively unprofessional. Asked for a part exchange price on my car. Was provided a much lower valuation than expected, when asked if there was anything that could be done he just shook his head. Ended up leaving with a sour taste in our mouths. Went to 3 other dealerships, was approached almost immediately and with a smile on every visit, they were all professional and a pleasure to deal with. In every one was offered at least £1,000 more than at Sturgess. I understand the economy and market is difficult at the moment, but £1,000 is a huge difference at 3 different dealerships!! The visit to Sturgess was also disappointing as my family and I have had several cars from this branch previously. I have now bought a new car at one of the other dealerships that I visited and the service was second to none.

In the midst of a family emergency, Carl at Aylestone Road helped sort out the sale of the new car. He took great care with a difficult situation. No sales gimmicks, straight the point. Many dealers and sales people could learn from this. Painless experience, top man.

Parts dept is a joke, lets see how many rings of the bell has it taken for you to get served, have they rang you back when promised a call? Part is not there after 4 days when you have been told 2. This is at hyundai sturgess leicester.

26th May 2021 I purchased and collected a Fiat 500X from James at Sturgess Aylestone Road. I have no complaints at all; the pre-sales effort was polite and prompt, they repaired two scuffed alloy wheels and upon arriving in Leicester I was collected by James from the station (I live over 2 hours drive away). I knocked a star off for Sturgess not recognising the difference between a car valet and a quick vacuum and wipe. I could further moan about the fact that a couple of bodywork scuffs were not brought to my attention but on balance, I do recognise that the car is not new and had covered 19k. To conclude, I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend Sturgess/James albeit perhaps ensure that if they state a valet they mean it.

Warning : Took my car to the Aylestone Rd branch with a gearbox issue, workshop manager seemed total disinterested, had diagnostic test done (£80) and was told results were inconclusive, then told I’d probably need a new gearbox at a cost of £10,000 😳. Not satisfied I took my car to a local garage and had problem fixed, £240 ! Seems like main dealer was just trying to rip me off. Terrible experience, be warned ! ! !

I would like to raise a complaint about the lack of customer service received from multiple staff members at Sturgess Land Rover Parts: 170 Walnut St, Leicester LE2 7GS.
A car parked in this branch's car park reversed out and scratched my car on Saturday 22nd May, something I did not realise until the following day. I went to the branch on the Mon 24th to see whether I could get a copy of the CCTV footage so I could contact my insurers - I was told that they would look into this and contact me before COB that day.
As I did not hear back, I went back into the branch again on Tue 25th, only to be told that it could only be accessed by a manager who would be back in the business the following day. I went back to the branch again on Wed 26th only to be told that "the cameras do not work" and they could not help.
I find it very hard to believe that a well-known brand like Land Rover do not have working cameras and that multiple staff members were not aware that they were not working. And if this was indeed the case, then why was I not told this on my first or second visit, instead they let me waste my time going back 3x times only to dismissed as if I was inconveniencing them! I can only assume that because of my appearance that I was not given the common decency of trying to help me with what has now become a legal matter.
I am beyond disappointed and I certainly wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase from this branch, as I dread to think what the after sales service would be like!

Plus and minus but nothing terrible. I bought a Tucson from Sturgess. Ashley in April 21. Found the sales department quite normal as in low offer for part ex and little negotiation in used car price.
Bought the Tucson sport and was pleased with car but a little disappointed with car preparation. I viewed and picked up a week later. I had made comments on the cleanliness of interior ( crumbs etc in ash tray handle pockets gear lever boot etc) but when I arrived to pickup the interior was the same. So much for deep cleaning during COVID.
However. During the drive home I noticed a bumping and slight shack in braking hard at speed.
I reported this and as I live 2 hours away was told to take it to a garage close to me. I did. It needed all four discs replaced. Shame on Sturgess for not noticing. But good on Sturgess for paying with no quibble for all new brakes.

Went in for 2 repairs, they only did one as they forgot the other.
Just told me to come back. By the time I did, their first repair had failed and came back.
Repair before quoting and gaining approval, say things not under warranty when other dealers say they are.
Kept the car for a day longer, without warning.
Said they would wash and clean the car during service, came back filthy.
Edit: did not resolve after contacting per their review
