Had to confirm some details as part of my ID verification to make sure I wasn’t using a stolen card. Replied to the email and my order was shipped. Not sure why people are so mad about this on the reviews, with all the hackers today it’s a good thing
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE!
Placed an order 2 weeks ago, got a confirmation email and another the next day to say the order has been shipped, but the tracking details say it’s not left Australia. Very doubtful it will :-( waste of time and money. Wish I’d read the reviews before I placed an order.
HORRIBLE
I purchased a dress during a sale, they then emailed me saying I had to confirm an amount of money pending in my account and I replied stating the amount. It has now been 13 days with no response to multiple emails, not to mention every time I call the head office it states “all representatives are busy” then cuts out. I have called every day since. Don’t shop here, will be a waste of your time and money.
Terrible customer experience at SurfStitch
If only their after sales customer experience lived up to their promise. Buyer beware, free returns/exchange on offer but they take 3 weeks from receipt of the returned item to respond, and then allege the garment returned to them is unsalable. Total BS. No proof, just their word against mine. Customer service at it finest. Why put up with that I say. Plenty of other retailers willing to look after their customers. ‘SurfStitch-up’ would prefer to steal and treat their customers like liars. Disappointing.
Astonishingly bad customer service
Thought I bought items that were on sale, went through checkout and realised I’d been charged full price. Contacted them for it to be rectified and in response they asked me for proof the items were ever on sale, like I was some sort of liar. So angry about it. The only option they gave me was to send the items back to them for a refund, at my expense of course. Unbelievable.
This week I made an online purchase…
This week I made an online purchase from Surfstitch. Products chosen, paid with credit card and recieved an email from Surfstitch requesting to log back in to my bank account to see a small transaction fee from the company and then re-email the exact dollàr figure back to the Surfstitch customer service...for security purposes apparently.
I questioned this process, as it seems suspect.
I havn't come across this before with ordering online. Not sure why this is necessary when you've already paid for your purchase and it's successfully deducted from your account.
Terrible customer service
Have had the most terrible customer service from this business. Bought a Rip Curl surfers tidal watch through them. The watch after a short period of use had moisture appear inside the watch and kept turning off. Contacted surfstitch to have it replaced. They asked to have it sent back to them for evaluation despite the photos clearly shows water droplets inside the watch and being well within warranty. They have now had the watch for almost 2 months and are not responding to any emails for an update. Have called their customer service number and keep getting disconnected. This should have been a 'hassle free' faulty product exchange. At this point not sure how to get our money back. Ripcurl would surely not be wanting this sort of customer service associated with their products.

Absolutely not. 1 star is even too much so many issues with this site they never have what the website says is in stock, they take weeks if not months to send, you pay for fast shipping and it comes later then standard shipping. Absolutely ship don't ever buy from here

Terrible customer service. You pay for an item and they won’t send it until the take an additional charge from your credit card.
I bought some shoes hoping to get them before Christmas but they wouldn’t send them until I jumped through extra hoops.

The shipping to NZ is slow
The shipping to NZ is so slow! It's been almost over 2 weeks now just to send a T-Shirt..
I can understand there would be delays but shouldn't take that long as i've bought other things from Aus and they arrive within 3-4 days.
VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Bought a watch for son's birthday.
Over a month and no sign of product.
Understand delivery issues, but not replying to emails is poor.

If I could give them less than one star I would. If you don’t want to receive the item you purchase and get stuffed around with delayed emails and wish washy communication then look somewhere else.
Deceiving Practices
Their discount promotions are extremely deceiving & you can’t locate their conditions. When you apply discount codes they are rejected ‘not applicable’ Customer service responses are flippant.
Surf Stitch sell the brands of other companies so just go to those companies instead, at least you know what you’re getting.
I purchased an item that was on sale
I purchased an item that was on sale. I checked the T & Cs and knew if it did not fit I could exchange the item for another size. It was too big so I contacted SurfStitch to return it for a credit/exchange. I was happy to receive a credit and use it toward a more expensive item as they had sold out of my original purchase. I was told that I couldn't return it for a credit or exchange because it came from their outlet store. On their website, on the product page, there was a tiny little DROP DOWN box claiming T & Cs apply. To know this, I had to have noticed the drop-down box, which I did not. It is not obvious that something is from their outlet store when purchasing from the website. Their Return T & Cs do not mention that you cannot return outlet items. If it had, then I would have looked for the Outlet T & Cs. There was no other warning, even in the checkout procedure, that this item could not be exchanged. I'm surprised that a large company such as SurfStitch couldn't put customer service above a $60 sale. They have lost me as a customer. Buyer beware - locate their tiny T & C button to check if the item you are purchasing is from their outlet store, and drop down the information before purchasing.
Charging double MSRP for a pair of shoes?
As an american, it is impossible to shop this website. They charge $129 american (not australian) for a pair of Vans Old Skools which are $60 msrp here in the states. None of this would be a problem had they not acquired and then liquidated Swell.com. I will never understand why they did not use that as a distribution arm or just continue to operate it rather than expect us to pay more than double for the same products on their site. If i could give zero stars, I would.
Highly unprofessional and completely useless…
This company is not even based in New Zealand despite trading under the name surfstitch New Zealand.
There is no contact number to deal with them directly only a Facebook page. They do not listen to what you are asking of them nor do they try to go out of their way to resolve a situation.
The information they do give is very ambiguous, non helpful and they don’t even remember the things that they have told you previously. They do not provide proper receipts..
DO NOT shop with this highly unprofessional and poorly managed company..
I WOULD NEVER USE THEIR SITE OR PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN.
Don't recommend
Decent shipping to new Zealand. The issue is I thought the wrong backpack was sent because the colour on site it completely different to in real life! A lovely bright bag turned out to be dark and plain! Not impressed at all.
One item missing
One item missing from a five item order, correspondence from customer service is really slow and has got me nowhere a week later. I am currently getting PayPal involved to get some help. It was a terrible experience in trying to deal with them about the problem and I would not buy from them again. Wish I had read these reviews before I purchased from them, guess I am not the first customer they have messed around.
