Following my car being hit and damaged by an unknown driver while stationery in a supermarket carpark on 14/4/2026, the store manager supplied me with the exact time that the collision took place, along with information about the offender's car and the relevant 3 cameras for Swiftcover to request the cctv footage. After chasing swift on 14/5/2026, I chased again today 31/6/2026 to be told that the collison is not visible on the cctv footage. As I explained to the claim handler today, this contradicts information from the store manager on the day.
When I filed the claim, I expected 3 outcomes -
1. No registration visible of the offender's car.
2. Registration found but offender not insured.
3. Registration found and offender insured (my excess paid would then be refunded)
I had faith in a company that is owned by AXA that my claim would be effectively processed. I did not expect this 4th outcome of "collision not visible". I had given swift information on 14/4/2026 about the the 3 cameras, including the 2 camera numbers, plus stating that a third camera at the petrol station could be the crucial one. I phoned swift again the following day (15/4/2026) to reassure myself that all information had been requested by swift to the supermarket. The only detail that was missing was the supermarket site, so this was added to the email.
The claim handler this morning 31/6/26 has raised a complaint for me (thank you) but this will not redress the fact that the information supplied was not acted upon by swift. Although it has been confirmed that the incident will not affect my NCD, I know that it will affect my future premiums. If swift had acted on the information supplied, the offender and registration number might have been found and I could have updated the police. I continue to be £650 (£450 and £200) out of pocket for an incident that was not my fault. This incident will now affect my future outgoings with my increased premiums.
Swift had attempted to contact me by email on 8/6/2026, updating me of the outcome of the cctv but I did not see that email as it didn't come from swiftcover; only the claim handler name was shown in the sender details, with axa and the claim reference in the header, so I might have missed it. The email was asking for more information but all this had been supplied on the day of the incident.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service provided by Swiftcover. My experience has been nothing short of appalling.
I have sent multiple emails, all of which have been completely ignored. I have even submitted formal complaints about the lack of communication, yet those have also gone unanswered. Trying to speak to someone by phone is equally frustrating—I am left on hold for what feels like forever and can never get through to anyone.
As a result, I have absolutely no idea what is happening with my claim. There has been no communication, no updates, and no reassurance that my claim is even being dealt with.
When you’re paying for insurance, you expect support when you need it most. Instead, I’ve been met with silence and a complete lack of customer care. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
